In 1974, we built the first pair of Dalbello ski boots in a small ski boot factory in the foothills of the
Italian Dolomites. Today, as it was more than 30 years ago, our approach to addressing the needs
of skiers is exactly the same as it was at that time. We are deeply committed to helping skiers to ski
better and have more fun. We strive to build the highest quality ski boots; boots that look great and
fit great and are loaded with authentic performance features to make them ski great. This commitment has made Dalbello one of the fastest growing ski boot brands in the world.

Selling Skills
Understanding your customers skiboot needs
Selecting the appropriate ski boot for each customer is challenging. The more you know about your customers; their skill level, level of physical fitness, feet type,
physical attributes, prior boot fitting problems, general knowledge of ski equipment, commitment to the sport, future goals, etc., the easier, faster, and more
efficiently it will be for you to choose a suitable ski boot for them. Start by learning as much as you can about your customers:
Ask questions about their skiing skills:
1. How well do you ski?
2. Where do you ski and how many days per year do you ski?
3. Do you ski fast? Moderate speeds? Slow?
4. Which types of terrain do you prefer? Groomed, Powder, Hardpack, Moguls, Off Piste, Park & Pipe?
5. Do you, or will you, take ski lessons?
Ask questions about their ski equipment:
1. What kind of boots do you presently use? How old are they?
2. Why are you shopping for new ski boots?
3. What kind of skis do you presently use?
Probe for additional information:
1. Do you have problems with your feet?
2. Do you have problems buying other kinds of footwear?
3. Are you athletic? Do you participate in other sports?
4. How much money do you plan to spend on new ski boots?
5. Do you use orthotics or custom insoles?
Measure and observe your customer’s feet and lower legs to determine:
Foot length: Measure both feet
Foot width: narrow, average, or wide?
Instep height: High/Average/Low?
Arch: Average Height/Flat Foot?
Calf width? Thin, Average, Large, Extra Large?
Are there any protruding bones or bone spurs?
Advice from the professionals
Following are some simple tips to help you develop and improve your skills as a professional bootfitter/boot seller. Conducting yourself professionally in front of
your customers is a very positive reflection on you and your expertise, as well as on the quality and professionalism of your store. Skier’s prefer to do business
with professionals.
Know your inventory
Familiarize yourself every ski boot brand and model sold by your store. Try on evey ski boot you sell. Know which boot models are best suited for different skier
types and foot shapes. Before you recommend a particular ski boot model and size, be sure you know that it is in your store’s inventory.
Limit the number of ski boot models you recommend
Customers become confused when, in their selection process, they try on too many ski boots. You will most likely close the sale if you limit the number of ski boot
models you recommend to 2 or 3 MAXIMUM.
Make sure the size you have selected is correct
The most important service you can perform for your customer is to make sure you select and sell that customer the correct size ski boot for his/her foot. It is
estimated that 60% of all ski boots sold are between 1 - 3 sizes TOO BIG!!! Boots that are too big do not provide the proper support for responsiveness and control.
The innerboot materials have a tendency to break down (compress) very quickly due to the excess foot movement within the boot. Boots that are too big must be
buckled tighter than boots that fit correctly. Overtightening” produces uncomfortable, aching, cold feet.
Make sure your customer is wearing the appropriate ski sock
Ski socks should be light to medium weight, wrinkle free, and, ideally, a woven blend of synthetic and/or natural fibers. They are designed to wick moisture away
from the skin in order to keep the foot dry and warm. Socks should fit snugly and comfortably around the foot and over the leg calf. Most skiers find that ski boots
fit better and are warmer when they are warn with only one ski sock.

Advice from the professional
Describe to your customer how a new ski boot should feel
You should prepare your customer for what he/she is about to feel BEFORE the ski boot is tried on. New ski boots should feel comfortable and snug. When the
knee is flexed forward, the heel should stay in the heel pocket of the boot. It is normal to feel the front of the boot when standing upright, but the toes will pull back
when the boot is buckled and the knee is flexed forward. The multi density foam fit materials in Dalbello boots are sensitive to body heat and pressure from the foot
contours. They will conform to the foot after the boot has been on the foot for 5 - 7 minutes. If a minor pressure point is initially felt, it will usually disappear within
that time. The foot should be held firmly without the need to tighten the buckles excessively. A good fit should originate from the shape of the boot matching the
shape of the foot. For TRUFIT model fitting, refer to page 10, “TRUFIT Custom Fit System Procedures”.
Explain how all features, adjustments, and mechanisms function
Make sure you take the time to fit both boots to your customer. Use the time you have to explain the buckle adjustments, and other personalization mechanisms
(forward lean, flex control, walk/ski, canting, etc.) Try to answer your customer’s questions with simple explanations.
Explain how ski boots should be cared for
Be sure to avoid walking excessively on hard or abrasive surfaces in ski boots. Otherwise, damage to the bootsole can occur over time. Ski Boots should be
cleaned ONLY with water and a mild detergent. Cleaning with other chemicals can damage the boot. Dry the boots after each use. If excessively wet inside, the
innerboots may be removed for faster drying. Avoid drying boots near radiators, fireplaces, microwave ovens, or any other sources of direct or excessive (above
45°C/110°F) heat.
Explain how ski boots should be stored at the end of the season
Make sure the entire ski boot is clean and dry....inside and out. Over a long period of time, moisture contained in the innerboots can become a breeding ground
for mold, mildew, and other kinds of bacteria. Remove the liner. Clean it and dry it. Put it back into the shell making sure that it is inserted correctly, and that the
tongue is not twisted. Buckle the boots up with buckles under loose tension. Close the Velcro powerstrap (loosely). This will keep the shell plastic in the proper
alignment to close around your foot and lower leg the next time you wear the boots. Store the boots in a cool, dry, and dark place. Do not leave them in a place
where small animals or insects may be able to nest in them.
FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)
How can I verify that the ski boot size I have selected is correct ?
All Dalbello ski boots are built on the MONDOPOINT sizing scale. Mondopoint sizes can be converted to correspond closely to European, UK, and USA sizes.
Check the “SKIBOOT SIZING CONVERSION TABLE” on page 31 of the Technical Manual for more information. Size numbers are, unfortunately, only a starting
point for selecting the correct size. There is a commonly used method, or technique, in ski boot fitting to verify whether the ski boot size you have selected will
match the foot you are trying to fit. That method is referred to as ‘SHELL SIZING”. Most boot fitting professionals will check “SHELL SIZING” before fitting the ski
boot to the customer’s foot.
How can I avoid getting cold feet?
1) Make sure your boots are dry at the beginning of each ski day. Remove wet innerboots at night to dry them, but NEVER DRY INNERBOOTS ON A
RADIATOR, FIREPLACE, OR ANY OTHER SOURCE OF EXCESS HEAT. Consider using a boot drying appliance such as the Therm-IC® Boot Dryer.
2) Avoid wearing multiple pairs of socks. One pair of high performance, technical ski socks is sufficient.
3) If your foot perspires excessively, change into a dry pair of socks at midday.
4) To keep your feet warm and dry, always wear clean socks. The moisture wicking function of the socks is best when they are clean.
5) Have your boot fit checked by an expert. Too big? Too small? Pressure Points ? Is the blood circulation being restricted? Consider a custom footbed..
6) Install an electronic insole footwarmer, such as those available from Therm-IC®.
Dalbello’s “Fit for Women” program features ski models that have been specifically engineered for women.
How are Dalbello women’s ski boots different from Dalbello men’s ski boots?
All Dalbello boots “Fit For Women” feature the following women’s only characteristics:
1) All women’s model cuffs are injected with softer, more flexible plastics
2) Women’s Krypton, Electra, and Raya models feature unique cuff geometries that are lower in overall height than men’s cuffs in corresponding models.
3) All Dalbello women’s innerboots are lower in overall height than men’s innerboots.
4) All Dalbello women’s innerboots are lasted for women’s feet. They are narrower in the rearfoot, and have a more extreme taper angle from forefoot to rearfoot.
5) All womens innerboots are constructed with more padding to reduce volume, accommodate lower volume feet, and add insulation.
6) Women’s models in Raya and Aspire series feature boot top circumference expansion adjustability.

UNDERSTANDING DALBELLO
SKI BOOT ARCHITECTURE & TECHNOLOGY
There are three basic ski boot construction architectures: Overlap (2 Piece), Cabrio (3 Piece) and Rear Entry. Different architectures are selected by ski boot
designers for the different performance characteristics, different fit and foothold characteristics, and different convenience characteristics they feature. Dalbello
produces ski boots that incorporate all three construction technologies.
CABRIO DESIGN 3 Piece Overlap
Cabrio Design - 3 Piece Overlap Construction
WHAT IS IT?
Cabrio Design is a ski boot design architecture that that incorporates 3 structural elements - (1) lower shell, (2)
upper cuff and, (3) external shell tongue - in its structure. Developed for its fitting versatility, easy handling, and
dynamic performance advantages with modern ski shapes. Since 1995, Dalbello has been the industry’s leading
manufacturer of 3 Piece Cabrio Design technology ski boots.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Modern shaped skis are more responsive and easier to turn than old style long, “straight skis”. Modern skis
respond to very subtle and precise changes in angulation, edge pressure, and steering forces. Modern shaped skis
are more dynamic than old style skis, requiring a ski boot that has strong side-to-side stability along with smooth
and progressive flexibility in the forward direction. Modern skis, for most skiers, do not respond favorably to high
quantities of force and pressure that are typically characteristic of more traditional design ski boots. Cabrio Design
technology ski boots give skiers the optimal combination of support, stability, balanced stance, powerful edging
control, and dynamic response.
HOW DOES IT FUNCTION?
Cabrio Design permits the use of stiffer and more rigid plastics in the lower shell. This strengthens the support around the foot and lower leg providing quick
response and precise transfer of power to the ski edges. This design also prevents the lower shell from distorting and bulging as the boot flexes, making the
boot more smooth and stable at high speeds and on irregular terrain. Smooth and progressive forward flex is precisely controlled using an external shell tongue.
Changing dynamic flex and performance is controlled by simply changing tongue material and geometry, or by limiting the forward movement of the boot cuff
with the flex adjustment mechanism. Only Cabrio Design ski boots feature such rigid and precise lateral support while at the same time providing a smooth and
progressive flex. Cabrio Design technology also has a greater degree of fitting versatility than traditional ski boots. Cabrio Design is able to adapt to a wider
variety of feet shapes and instep heights than conventional ski boots due the “open throat” lower shell/shell tongue construction.
CLASSIC DESIGN 2 Piece Overlap
Classic Design - 2 Piece Overlap Construction
WHAT IS IT?
Classic 2 Piece Overlap design ski boots are the industry’s most common design construction. 2 Piece overlap
skiboots (sometimes referred to as “shellfit” boots) incorporate two structural elements - (1) a lower shell with
overlapping and underlapping flanges that “wrap” to adapt to different volume feet and feet shapes securing the
lower foot inside the ski boot, and (2) an upper cuff with over and underlapping flanges which, when closed, secure
the lower leg and ankle inside the ski boot.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Structurally, 2 piece overlap ski boots are simple constructions that are highly variable in volume. They are simple
to open and close and are designed to hold the skier’s foot and leg in a strong and balanced stance position,
permitting energy and leverage to be transferred from the skier’s feet and legs to the skis for performance and and
control.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The “overlapping” function of the 2 piece design allows the over and underlapping flanges of the shell and cuff to slide across one another when the buckles are
tightened, therby adapting the volume of the shell and cuff to the individual skier’s foot and lower leg.Dynamic function in these designs is regulated by changing
structural design elements (cuff and shell angle, cuff height, height of lower shell sidewalls, plastic stiffness, innerboot designs and constructions.
Dynalink - Rearfoot Retention System
WHAT IS IT?
Dynalink is an independently functioning heel/instep closure band assembly that secures the skiers foot in the
middle and rearfoot sections of the ski boot.
KRYPTON
AXION & RAYA
WHAT DOES IT DO ?
Dynalink holds the skiers foot securely toward the rear part of the ski boot. During boot flex, the Dyanlink band
does not permit the foot to slide forward or the heel to lift inside the boot shell. The closure system prevents the
lower shell from bulging and distorting when the boot is flexed forward. Because the skier’s foot is held more
securely, high speed stability and control over the skis on irregular and difficult terrain are improved.
HOW DOES IT FUNCTION?
Dynalink band (plastic closure strap) is fixed to the lower shell at, or near, the inside (medial) cuff hinge. The Dynalink closure buckle, on the lateral side, is attached
to the lower shell (instead of cuff). Both closure band and buckle are fixed in position on the lower shell when the Dynalink assembly is closed. Neither
component is permitted to move, either forward or up and down, with the boot cuff as the boot is flexed. The foot is, therefore, securely held in position and can
not lift of slide during skiing. This assembly also prevents the boot from bulging and distorting during skiing.

Dalbello offers a wide variety of last shapes and fitting volumes to suit skiers of all different performance levels.
Last shapes
Dalbello offers 4 different last shapes to accomodate different feet shapes with varying degrees of foot retention to perfectly match the performance and comfort
requirements of different skiers.
Last shape numbers refer to straight line measurement in millimeters inside the boot shell across the forefoot. In general, lower volume lasted boots (measurements 100 mm) fit very closely to the foot and use thinner innerboots. Their precise and sensitive fit provides very quick power transfer to the ski. Because the
fit is less forgiving, lower volume lasted boots require more time to fit than higher volume boots. Higher volume lasted boots ( 104 mm) have more space inside
the shell, permit the use of more cushioned innerboots, and are designed for abundant cushioned comfort.
98 mm Last
101 mm Last
Lowest overall volume last in Dalbello collection. Precise and
accurate fit. Envelopes the anatomic contours of the foot and
lower leg for maximum foot retention with enhanced sensitivity
and responsiveness.
New last shape for serious performance oriented skiers.
Slightly more forefoot and ankle volume than Krypton (98mm)
provides a versatile and comfortable fit. Strong foothold with
balanced stance angle keeps the foot relaxed and stable at a
wide variety of speeds.
Proton/ Electra
Krypton
103 mm Last
105 mm Last
Extremely versatile fitting last combines an expanded volume forefoot and toe box area with a close fitting rearfoot and
ankle area. Comfortably accommodates a wide range of foot
shapes with max foothold and exceptional comfort.
Dalbello’s most accommodating fit last provides immediate
and enduring comfort. Extra shell-fit volume fits wide feet
comfortably and permits the use of softer cushioning and
insulating materials in the innerboot.

FIT SYSTEM
PROCEDURE & GUIDELINES
Before you start
For your own safety, before you use the Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM, make sure you thoroughly read and understand the instructions manual accompanying the TRUFIT boot
heating device and follow all the recommended procedures. To insure that heating temperatures and times are correct and consistent for TRUFIT Custom Fit boot models,
we recommend ONLY the Therm-IC FITSYSTEM heating device, or the INTEC LH-3 Heat Machine. DO NOT USE: OVENS, HEAT GUNS, HAIR DRYERS, or FORCED
HOT AIR SYSTEMS not designed for TRUFIT boots, as they may damage the innerboot materials. Dalbello assumes no responsibility for damage to TRUFIT innerboots
caused by improper heating, or heating with equipment not recommended by Dalbello. ANY HEATING PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON TRUFIT BOOTS WITH
HEATING EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN THAT RECOMMENDED BY DALBELLO IS PERFORMED AT THE SHOP’S OWN RISK.
WARNING about heating Junior P6 Comp with TRUFIT innerboots
Junior P6 Comp uses a unique TRUFIT innerboot construction that required less heat to mold than adult TRUFIT innerboots. Excessive heat will damage the innerboot.
DO NOT HEAT JUNIOR P6 COMP BOOTS WITH INTEC LH-3 Heat Machine.
HEAT JUNIOR P6 COMP ONLY WITH THE Therm-IC FITSYSTEM. USE HEAT SETTING 1 FOR 10 MINUTES. Follow all other fitting procedures below.
Overview of TRUFIT Heating Procedure
NOTE: HEATING PROCEDURE TEMPERATURE AND TIME ARE IDENTICAL FOR ALL TRUFIT MODELS
1. The TRUFIT Heating procedure will require approximately 20 minutes time from start to finish.
2. The Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM Heating Device warms the ULTEVA foam material (Ceramic and/or Classic) inside the innerboot to the appropriate temperature for custom
forming around the contours of the customer’s foot.
3. Though the boot feels hot to touch, there is no discomfort and no physical danger.
4. After the boots have finished their heating cycle, you have approximately 1 - 2 minutes to put the boots on the customer’s feet.
6. ULTEVA foam molds to the foot and then cools very quickly. After standing in the boots and flexing gently for 5 - 6 minutes, the TRUFIT fitting
procedure will be finished. TRUFIT boots are ready for skiing immediately after the procedure has been finished.
6. In case of a mistake or problem during heating or fitting, it is possible to repeat the heating procedure up to 3 times.
Therm-IC® Fitsystem Operation
The Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM features two conical air flow tubes that direct the warm air into the ski boot. The air flow tubes may be rotated
360° around the the main electrical casing unit and, the tubes are designed to stop at 90° intervals. Do not attempt to “spread open” the
air flow tubes. When rotating, make sure the tubes are parallel to the main electrical casing unit.
1. Plug in the power cord.
2. Place ski boots on a horizontal surface (NOTE: it is NOT necessary to remove the innerboots or the innersoles
from the innerboots for this procedure. Position the air flow tubes in the ski boots (as shown in photo)
so that the air flow tube cones are seated as deeply into the boot as possible. Gently close the buckles on the
boot cuff to hold the air flow tubes in place. Make sure that the air intake holes (visible hole on the top of the air
flow tube cone) are not blocked, covered, or in any other way obstructed.
3. Switch on the device (I = on, 0 = off)
4. Select HEAT SETTING 2 - The Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM features two programmed heat/time
cycles. HEAT SETTING 2 is a 15 minute “high heat” cycle used for TRUFIT models. This
setting is activated by pressing the RED button which illuminates a RED LIGHT during the cycle.
HEAT SETTING 1 is a 10 minute “warm/dry” cycle functioning at a lower temperature. It is
activated by pressing the YELLOW button which illuminates an ORANGE LIGHT during the
cycle. HEAT SETTING 1 will NOT activate the thermomolding properties of TRUFIT innerboots.
Dalbello assumes no responsibility for damage to ski boots caused by improper use of the
Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM.
5. Do not leave the Therm-IC® FITSYSTEM unsupervised during the heating procedure.
6. After the heating cycle ends a 10 second series of “beeps” will sound and the heat supply and
circulating fan will automatically shut off. Switch off the device and remove the tubes from the
boots. Be careful to avoid touching the tubes, as they may be hot.
7. DO NOT IMMEDIATELY REPEAT THE HEATING PROCEDURE ON THE SAME PAIR OF BOOTS.
Heating Skiboots with Custom Insoles/Orthotics
Dalbello innersoles need not be removed from the innerboots for the heating procedure. In the event a replacement custom insole or orthotic device will be used, the
standard equipment Dalbello insole should be removed before performing the heating procedure. In order to avoid heat damage to the replacement insoles or orthotic
devices, we recommend performing the TRUFIT heating procedure without the insoles inside the innerboots. You may insert the replacement insoles into the boots
immediately after the heating cycle has finished and before your customer puts on the boots. Dalbello assumes no responsibility for damage to insoles or orthotic
devices due to excessive heat or other consequences of the TRUFIT thermomolding procedure.

I.D. Thermo Custom Fit Liners are uniquely engineered to be the
lightest and warmest custom fit ski boot liners in the world. I.D. Thermo
Liners feature a unique “wrap” construction that uses Ultralon® EVA
foam as its principle structural material. Ultralon EVA foam is
extremely light weight and durable, and is one of the most stable and
compression resistant innerboot foam materials in the world.
I.D. Thermo Liners are factory heat-formed to fit precisely into each
pair of Dalbello shells. This heat molding process insures an
absolutely perfect liner-to-foot-to-shell fit. There is absolutely no
relative movement between foot, liner, and the boot shell.
The factory heat forming process enables the boots to be tried on in
the store.
For the optimum comfort and performance fit, custom heat molding to
the customers’ feet is recommended.

CUSTOM FITTING DALBELLO KRYPTON
WITH ID THERMO LINERS
Make sure you have selected the correct boot size. Shell fitting is recommended. Organize all the fit materials and components you will need: Sox, Toe Caps,
Insoles or Custom Footbeds.
FITTING PREPARATION
REMOVE INSOLES FROM LINERS.
DO NOT heat liners with stock insoles inside.
PLACE SKI BOOTS ON HEAT MACHINE
SET TIME/ TEMPERATURE: 15 Minutes @ DEFAULT TEMPERATURE
Default on Thermo Machine= 1-HIGH
Default on Intuition Machine= 115° C
START MACHINE. Automatic shut off when time cycle has finished
PREPARE FEET...
Inspect Feet. Pad Bone Spurs/ Protursions/ areas of extreme sensitivity with
adhesive padding (optional). Toe Caps On. For extra toe room, use double toe caps.
Lightweight, Over-the-calf socks are recommended. Pull up tightly over the calf. No
Wrinkles!
PREPARE INSOLE/ CUSTOM FOOTBED/ORTHOTIC
If custom insole is used, make sure it is trimmed to fit. Make sure custom insole can
resist deforming under high heat.
FITTING PROCEDURE
WHEN HEATING CYCLE FINISHES, REMOVE FIRST BOOT FROM MACHINE
Immediately after heat machine “Bell Tone” or “Buzz” sounds. Re-Start the Heat
Machine leaving other boot on to heat some more while you are fitting the first boot.
RE-INSERT INSOLE INTO THE LINER
Remove the first boot from the machine and insert the CORRECT INSOLE into the
liner. Work quickly. The liner may feel HOTto handle with bare hands. Use lightweight
cotton gloves, if necessary.
FIT SKI BOOT TO CUSTOMER’S FOOT
With customer standing, guide foot into into the first boot. Instruct the customer to
bend knee forward. Pull up on rear of liner. Instruct customer to strike heel firmly
against the floor. Pull up on the rear of the liner one more time. Wrap the lower underlapping panel of the liner first. Make sure panel is smooth against instep and shin.
Wrap overlapping panel again around instep and shin. Make sure panel is smooth
(no wrinkles).
CLOSE SKI BOOT BUCKLES & VELCRO
Quickly place Krypton Tongue in correct closure position. Close Buckles. Close
Velcro Powerstrap. NOTE: During Thermo Molding - the looser the buckle closure
tension, the tighter the fit. The tighter the buckle closure tension, the looser the fit.
Skiers desiring a higher volume (more relaxed) fit, should select the .5 size in the
model and use tight buckle closure tension.
FLEX, STRIKE HEEL, STAND STILL
Instruct customer to flex aggressively 2 – 3 times and strike the foot diagonally against floor towards the heel and flat against bootsole. Instruct customer to keep weight
evenly distributed across the entire bootsole. Repeat steps 6 - 9 with the OTHER
BOOT. Fitting is complete and boots may be removed from feet in 6 - 10 minutes, or
when cool to the touch.

albello’s women’s models share common constructions
with the men’s models, but are, in fact, dedicated designs that feature
unique dynamic functionality specifically enginereed for the performance
demands of women skiers. Dalbello women’s boots feature lady’s only
fit and function. Dalbello women’s innerboots use unique textiles and insulating materials that are relatively softer, warmer, and more cushioned
than corresponding men’s innerboots. In order to comfortably accomodate
the specific anatomical requirements of the women’s foot morphology, all
Dalbello women’s models feature tapered rearfoot lasting that fit women’s
foot shapes, as well as innerboot constructions that are narrower than
men’s models and feature luxurious fleece and “faux fur” lining textiles.
All models in Dalbello’s women’s collection also use structural materials
that are lighter weight and more flexible than those used in corresponding
men’s models.
Lady Last
Dalbello builds its women’s boots on carefully crafted
shoe forms (lasts) that are enginereed to provide a
unique fit and size profile optimized for a women’s
unique foot characteristics. Dalbello’s “Lady Lasts”
are developed to comfortably fit the contours the foot
and to provide support and cushioning for all day
comfort. Compared with men’s last, they are narrower
in the heel, proportionally wider in the forefoot, and
have a higher instep.
High Tech Personalization
All Dalbello women’s models feature a combination of
adjustments for fit and performance personalization:
forward flex control, forward lean control, boot height
adjustment, cuff volume circumference, walk/ski control,
canting, fore/aft balance, heel lift, and heel hold.
Low Contour Profile Geometry
Dalbello women’s model innerboot cuffs and rear
spoilers are 0.5 cm - 1.5 cm (depending on model)
lower that men’s cuffs. Low contour profile geometry
cuffs are engineered to close comfortably and easily
around a wide variety of women’s lower leg shapes
and sizes.
Heel Inclinator
Select Dalbello Raya and Aspire models feature an
adjustable heel height mechanism. Raising or lowering
the heel inside the boot can improve rearfoot and ankle
comfort for some skiers. Changing foot angle also
changes fore/aft balance which can improve ski
response and turn initiation for some skiers.
Cuff Volume Expansion X-Module
Circumference of rear cuff spoiler on RAYA models
9/7/5 may be increased to accommodate varying
lower leg volumes and/or shorter leg lengths.
Aspire models 80/70/60 feature a removable cuff
insert (X-Module Insert) that expands the boot top
opening circumference approximately 5 cm and
lowers the overall boot height by 1.5 cm.
Soft, Warm Textiles
All Dalbello women’s innerboots use structural materials
that are lighter and more flexible than those used in
corresponding men’s models. Women’s innerboots
feature luxurious fleece and “faux fur” lining plus
additional insulating materials fro greater warmth,
and comfortable cushioning.

Krypton Series Sales and Technical Data
Krypton Series skier profile
Developed for top level advanced to competitive level freeride skiers, skiing professionals, park & pipe specialists, and those aspiring to be. Close fitting. Quick.
Responsive. Powerful. Krypton is Dalbello’s top performance series featuring World Cup Racing proven technology.
What are the 5 key features of Krypton boots?
1. Cabrio Design - 3 Piece Overlap Construction
Cabrio Design derives it name from its assembly architecture, which is completely open above the instep and in front of the tibia (open top = cabrio). Cabrio
Design combines a shell/cuff/tongue assembly to complete the ski boot structure. This configuration permits the use of stiffer and thicker materials for the lower
shell which amplify the skiers’ power, leverage, and energy to the ski permitting skiers to ski more powerfully and efficiently while expending less energy. The
Krypton Cabrio Design also permits the cuff & tongue of the boot to move smoothly and consistently with the leg during forward flex, while lateral & medial support
remain invariable (no shell bulge or distortion). The result: responsiveness, power, and stability with unmatched smoothness and shock absorption.
2. Dynalink Rearfoot Retention
An independently functioning heel/instep closure strap (Dynalink Band) is fixed to the inside of the boot at the hinge rivet. On the lateral side of the boot, the buckle
is mounted to the the lower boot shell instead of to the cuff, permitting the cuff to move independently of the buckle/band assembly. As the boot is flexed, foot
hold is secure and lower bootshell distortion is minimized. Dynalink provides superior foothold to skiers with lower volume feet, and/or for skiers who prefer softer
flexing boots that do not compromise positive foothold.
3. Kinetic Response Tongue
External shell tongue that is constructed from a very resilient and responsive polyamide nylon material. The KR Tongue features two molded-in “flex ribs” that
permit the tongue to close, adapt, and flex naturally with any instep height and/or leg calf circumference. Responsiveness and sensitivity are improved because
the highly resilient “KR Tongue” always stays in direct contact with the skier’s shin through flexing movement..
4. Highly Versatile Performance and Personalization
Krypton models feature the most performance adustability and personalization of any high performance ski boots available. Forward flex control, forward lean
control, dual axial canting, height adjustable rear cuff spoiler, interchangeable tongues, interchangeable footboards, modular arch support inserts. Krypton models
also feature a completely modular design - the entire ski boot may be completely and easily disassembled to permit custom boot modifications, service, and
repair.
5. TRUFIT & I.D THERMO Custom Fit Systems
All Krypton models for men and women feature TRUFIT Custom Fit Innerboots. Three different TRUFIT Constructions are featured. Different TRUFIT
constructions use different density Ulteva fitting foam for varying foothold and power transfer characteristics. All TRUFIT innerboots are designed to fit right out
of the box, or, they may be optionally custom heat molded. For 2008/2009, select Krypton models for men and women are available with Dalbello’s 100% Custom

Proton & Electra Series Sales and Technical Data
Proton and Electra Series skier profile
The Proton Series for Men and the Electra Series for Women were developed for accomplished and improving performance and freeride skiers seeking a traditional 4 buckle, classic overlap high performance ski boot that delivers firm foothold, powerful and immediate response, maximum sensitivity and unsurpassed
snow feel.
What are the 5 key features of Proton boots?
1. Classic Overlap Design - Traditional 4 Buckle Shellfit
The most common ski boot construction architecture, Proton & Electra models feature a traditional 4 buckle closure overlap construction ski boot. Overlap Design
refers to the functionality of the boot’s lower shell and upper cuff. Both structural components incorporate overlapping flanges, or panels, that slide across one
another closing the boot around the foot when the boot buckles are tightened. Different feet shapes and volumes are comfortably accommodated by varying the
closure volume of the plastic shell and cuff around the foot and lower leg. Classic Overlap ski boots are efficient constructions that provide an accurate and precise
fit with exceptional power and control for the skier.
2. Bi-Injected Construction
All Proton and Electra models feature high tech, state of the art, bi-injection technology that integrates two different density materials into a single structure.
Flexible and resilient polyether plastic surrounds the foot. Its elastic wrapping properties provide shock absorption as well as uniform foot closure for a precise and
comfortable fit. A harder polyurethane plastic surrounds and reinforces the softer “under shell” in the critical support zones, providing power, rigidity, and support
for maximum performance and control. The result: a perfect blend of precise fitting power, comfort, and shock absorption.
3. Balanced Stance
All Proton and Electra models feature a “new tech” relaxed stance featuring a lower heel and more upright cuff angle than that typically found in conventional
high performance ski boots. This “new tech” balanced stance facilitates movement patterns that make skiing easier, less fatiguing, and more comfortable.
This is the NEW stance geometry that better skiers have discovered makes their new skis perform better.
4. High Performance 101mm Last. Fits Medium Volume Feet
Proton models for men feature Dalbello’s new 101 mm last; a modern last shape generous in forefoot volume for comfort, but featuring an extreme taper in the
rearfoot for superior foothold and support. The fit and foothold is very versatile. Electra models for women feature Dalbello’s new, WOMEN’S SPECIFIC, performance last that is slightly lower in overall volume and height to accommodate the morphological differences in women’s feet and lower leg anatomy.
5. TRUFIT Custom Fit Systems
All men’s and women’s Proton and Electra models are available with TRUFIT Custom Fit Innerboots. TRUFIT is the industry’s most widely imitated ski boot
custom fit system.TRUFIT innerboots are engineered to fit the skier correctly and comfortably right out of the box. Or, the innerboots may be custom heat formed
with a quick and easy heat molding procedure performed in the ski shop. For 2008/2009, Proton 12 Carbon and Surge are available with optional I.D. THERMO
CUSTOM FIT Innerboots. I.D. Thermo Custom Fit Innerboots feature ULTRALON® EVA foam, and are custom heat formed to fit every anatomic contour of the
skier’s foot and lower leg. The unique material enhances sensitivity and provides superior foothold, shock absorption and insulation.

Axion and Raya Series Sales and Technical Data
Axion & Raya Series skier profile
Developed for ambitious and athletic performance oriented freeskiers seeking versatile fit with a balanced stance. New Axion Series for men incorporates many of the structural
and performance features of Krypton. New, relaxed fit, 103mm fitting last fits a wide variety of foot shapes with firm foothold and smooth, progressive flex. The Raya series is
uniquely engineered and lasted for women seeking all day comfort and warmth. Easy on/off Cabrio Design architecture is exceptionally lightweight and easy to flex.
What are the 5 key features of Reflex & Raya boots?
1. Cabrio Design - 3 Piece Overlap Shellfit
Axion for men and Raya for women models feature “Cabrio Design” construction. Cabrio Design features an open throat “cabrio” lower shell & tongue assembly
for more fitting versatility to accommodate the widest variety of foot shapes (low/high instep, low/medium/high overall volume). Cabrio design also features a
very rigid laterally supportive lower shell for quick and precise transfer of power to the ski edges. Skiers will experience more precision and power in their skiing
with a naturally balanced stance for more relaxed skiing and greater comfort.
2. Two Performance Constructions
All Raya models for women feature a specifically engineered “women’s only” design. Special Raya cuff constructions are lower than comparable men’s cuffs and
provide unique fitting versatility for all leg shapes with stability, support, and exceptional comfort. For personalized performance, all Raya models feature two
position flex control plus an integrated walk/ski mechanism for easy walking and extra comfort. The new AXION for men features a low hinging performance cuff
that is geometrically modeled after the top performing Krypton design. Developed for ambitious and improving all mountain skiers, the Axion construction is firm
and supportive in the leg shaft for improved power, quickness, and responsiveness.
3. Dynalink Rearfoot Stabilizer
An independently functioning heel/instep closure strap (Dynalink Band) is fixed to the inside of the boot at the hinge rivet. On the lateral side of the boot, the buckle
is mounted to the the lower boot shell instead of to the cuff. permitting the cuff to move independently of the buckle/band assembly. As the boot is flexed, foot
hold is secure and lower bootshell distortion is minimized. Dynalink provides superior foothold to skiers with lower volume feet, and/or for skiers who prefer softer
flexing boots that do not compromise positive foothold.
4. Special Lady’s Only Fit & Function
All Raya models feature special “Lady’s Only” fit and function. (1) Special innerboot construction with soft, warm, and comfortable PlushLiner (faux fur) or
Microfleece linings, (2) Tapered innerboot geometry to accommodate lower volume foot shapes and narrower achilles tendons. (3) Special Women’s Only Cuff
that is 1.5 cm lower than the comparable men’s version and features a cuff volume expansion adjustment to easily and comfortably accommodate a wide variety
of womens lower leg sizes and shapes.
5. TRUFIT Custom Fit Systems
Axion 11/ 9/ 7 and Raya 9/ 7 models feature TRUFIT Custom Fit Innerboots. TRUFIT is the industry’s most widely imitated ski boot custom fit system. TRUFIT
innerboots are engineered to fit the skier correctly and comfortably right out of the box. Or, the innerboots may be custom heat formed with a quick and easy
heat molding procedure performed in the ski shop.

Aerro & Aspire Series Sales and Technical Data
Aerro and Aspire Series skier profile
Recreational and sport skiers looking for performance and control with a relaxed attitude. Skiers seeking a traditional design ski boot that is easy to put on and
take off, provides all day comfort and warmth, and features functional, easy to use adjustments.
What are the 5 key features of Aerro and Aspire boots?
1. Bi-Injected Construction - Easy Entry Overlap Shellfit
Aerro and Aspire models 80, 70, 60 & 50 integrate state of the art, bi-injection technology that fuses two different density materials into a single structure. A
resilient, soft durometer plastic surrounds the foot. The flexible material permits the lower shell to open very wide permitting very easy boot entry, exit, and boot
cloure The flexible and elastic wrapping properties of the softer plastic material provide uniform foot closure for a precise and comfortable fit. A harder durometer
plastic material is injected over the softer material in the critical support zones providing power, rigidity, and support for maximum performance and control. The
result: a perfect blend of precise fitting power, comfort. Performance personalization and handling convenience is further enhanced by the ergonomic 2 Position
Flex Mechanism with Walk/Ski function.
2. X-Module Cuff Expansion
Aerro and Aspire cuffs are modularly constructed in 2 pieces to adapt to a wide range of lower leg sizes, shapes, and lengths. The X-MODULE (plastic cuff height
extension piece) insert, which is attached along the boot cuff perimeter, may be removed to expand the boot top opening circumference. When removed, opening
circumference is approximately 5 cm larger (wider), and boot height is approximately 2 cm lower. The X-MODULE Insert should be removed ONLY if more cuff
volume is required for fit or comfort, or if a lower boot cuff is desired for better performance or fit.
3. Aspire: Lady’s only fit and function
Aspire models for women are specifically engineered to accommodate womens unique leg and foot anatomies. All Aspire models feature: Low Contour Profile
(LCP) innerboot and shell cuff geometries which lower rear boot height to comfortably accommodate lower and/or wider leg shapes, softer flexing boot cuffs,

Vantage Rental
New - 4 Factor System
Vantage/ 4 Factor is available in 12
different shell sizes, but, uses ONLY
FOUR BOOTSOLE LENGTHS for the
entire series. Fewer boot sole lengths
mean faster adjustments and fewer
mistakes.
High Visibility Color
Coded Sizing
4 Factor System boot sole lengths are
easily identifiable using a color coding
system on the buckles, rear cuff, and
bootsole: Orange, Purple, Blue, and
Green.Color coded system coordinates with Elan and Tryolia SymPro
rental binding systems.
Easy Handling
Mid Entry Design
Extra wide opening, mid-entry
construction goes on fast and is easy
to close. Extra long, 140 mm ratchet
buckles on the cuff comfortably
accommodate legs of all sizes and
shapes. Extra long buckle levers on
cuff make buckle closure and opening
easy.

Like conventional rental ski boots, the Vantage is manufactured in 21 different sizes. Unique, however, is
the 4 Factor System Technology. ONLY 4 BOOTSOLE LENGHTS are used for the entire series of boots.
The foot is centered on all bootsoles. And, although there are only 4 bootsole lenght intervals for all sizes,
the boots are perfectly balanced, both visually and functionally. Rental business is all about providing fast
and efficient service to your “guests” who are waiting to go skiing. The advantage to using Vantage/ 4 Factor
System ski boots in rental operations is that fewer bootsole lenghts mean fewer binding adjustments need
to be made. The result: rental shops work faster and more efficiency with fewer adjustment errors. The
average rental shop can service more customers in less time with fewer employees.
Vantage boots are available in Steel Grey, Black/ Red and Silver. 4 Factor Bootsole lenghts are easily identifiable using a color coding i.d. system on the buckles, cuff graphics and boot soles: Orange, Purple, Blue
and Green. Boot sizes and sole lenghts (mm)are clearly marked with LARGE, color coded graphics located
on the cuff rear. In addition, Vantage boots feature binding adjustment letter graphics that coordinate with
the adjustment coding system used on Elan® ESP and Tyrolia® Sympro rental system bindings.

VANTAGE/ 4 FACTOR BOOT SIZING
Vantage 4 Factor Boots are available in men’s and women’s sizes. The table below illustrates a hypothetical rental shop size curve for 100 pairs of
boots ordered in three different size curvers: men’s, women’s and unisex. These tables are for illustration purposes only. Specific rental shop boot
sizing needs may be different, and may vary by geographic region.

&)4&/27/-%.4%#(./, /'9 FLEX INDEX TABLE
Over the past several years, our industry has attempted to standardize the system of flex indexing ski boots. Currently, however, no uniform
system of flex measurement protocols has been adopted as “the standard” for all the different ski boot manufacturers. Flex index numbers within
a specific manufacturer’s collection are relative to other boots in that manufacturer’s line, but have similar, but no precise direct comparison value
to boots made by other manufacturers, even when they appear to use the same scale. The commonly used system of Flex Index values has
recently become more indicative of ski boot performance and price positioning combined with the dynamic characteristics of boot flex.
