Walker. The Mathmos astro was launched in 1963, it became
a symbol of the swinging 60s and has been in continuous
British production ever since.

The second lava lamp designed by the inventor of lava lamps
and founder of Mathmos, Edward Craven-Walker, in 1964.
The astro baby has been manufactured by hand in Britain ever
since. This thinner, sleeker alternative to the original Astro has
a high shine polished base and cap.

The Telstar design is inspired by the space race fever that
gripped the 1960s.

Mathmos
Telstar legs are made with cast and polished zinc and each one
is hand polished. Each product is individually inspected and
tested to ensure that a Mathmos lava lamp is the best quality
in the world. Telstars bottles are hand filled in Mathmos’ British
factory.
Spare parts, including bulbs, are available from Mathmos on an
ongoing basis.

use Mathmos’ new “Smart” lava lamp technology. A heat plate,
computer chip, temperature sensor and LEDs combine to give
you both a touch controllable colour changing function and
automatic temperature regulation ensuring the unique Mathmos
lava lamp formula is always at optimum temperature.

Fireflow R1 is a small, retro metal lava
lamp inspired by the 40th anniversary
of the moon landings. Place a single
tea-light inside the rocket and in around
20 minutes Mathmos’ iconic lava
