Join the Library for what is sure to be an event you do not want to miss! PAWS for Reading Team of the Month: Jerry Siegel and Gremlin My name is Gremlin. I found my forever home on September 14, 2013. I was found wandering the streets of Adam's County in the summer of 2013. I was there for a few weeks. Since nobody seemed to want me, I was transferred to a shelter in Golden. I was adopted by a nice family, but the dog they had didn’t like me at all, so I was returned to the shelter. There I waited, still hoping to find a real forever family. To help me find a forever family, I was put on Channel Nine News on September 13, 2013. I did my best for my forever family to notice me. It worked! The next day they came and took me home. My name at the time was “Champ”. My forever family's daughter thought that I looked like a gremlin; Gremlin became my new name. She thought I would make a good therapy dog. I did too, and that has been my calling. Just ask me if I want to go to work, and you will see me ready any time of day or night. I love all the boys and girls at the library, especially when they give me treats! I also love going to the Medical Center of the Rockies and Poudre Valley Hospital. It makes me so happy to cheer the patients up and help them feel better. Jerry, my forever family Dad, taught music to elementary students and retired in 2005 after 39 years! He plays keyboard and accordion and is still very active in the music community. Jerry & his wife moved to Colorado in 2005. They have 2 grown children. In addition, I have a canine brother & sister who round out my forever family! Page 2 July 2016 Events for YOU(th)! Jump and Tumble! July 12th @ 10:30 a.m. Spinning, jumping, and dancing! July 2016 Did you know that running your finger under the words in a book while you read to your kids can significantly increase their pre-literacy skills and help them learn to read when they get to school? That’s so easy! Talk to your kids about print while you read. Why are those words bigger than the other ones? Is the speaker excited, happy, scared, mad? What does the exclamation point mean? When do we use a question mark? Page 4 Summer Library Programs at Severance Town Hall Summer programs in Severance are so much fun! Monday afternoons is Tech Time, everyone is having a blast playing with Cubelets, Ozobots, Squishy Circuits, and much more. There is room for more techie friends to join so check it out on Monday afternoons at Severance Town Hall from 3:304:30p.m. All ages are welcome, but children 7 and under need to bring a grown up along for assistance. On Tuesday mornings, enjoy reading, singing, playing, and popping bubbles in storytimes at 10:00 and 10:35 a.m. But wait; there’s more! The space is enclosed by sound barrier glass walls and includes two new work areas with outlets for laptops. CLD hopes you enjoy your new space to study, read, or just zen out. Come Cool Off on the Bookmobile The Bookmobile is a great place to sign up for the Summer Reading Program, and to pick up prizes for all of those books you are reading. Visit the BOMO at our fun summer-only stop at the Windshire neighborhood pool on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:00 p.m. or at any of the normal stops. The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4th, and the Bookmobile will not be going to Windsor Gymnastics Academy, Founder’s Park, Poudre Heights, or Covenant Park Subdivisions that day. There will be no Tech Time in Severance on July 4th. Happy Independence Day!
