2014 Absentee Bidding Information CATALOG and BID FORMS About Absentee Bidding Dear Pomperaug Elementary School Families and Staff, Our Evening Under the Stars committee is excited to be able to offer you the ability to participate in the Live Auction and Silent Auction, even if you cannot attend the event on April 5th! We have so many wonderful donations and wanted to find a way to make them available to our entire PES community. Parents, teachers and other staff can participate by browsing through our catalog and completing an Absentee Bid form. Both the catalog and Absentee Bid forms are included in this document, but there will also be a few copies available to look at in the lobby at school and the entire list will also be posted on the PES PTO home page (http://www.pespto.org). If you will not be present at the event, you may fill out an Absentee Bid and drop it off at the PES office by Friday, April 4th, at 3:00 PM (or have your child bring to his/her teacher to be sent to office). All bids must be placed in an envelope with ABSENTEE BID clearly marked on the outside. Following are some important details about the Absentee Bidding: Bid amounts: o For items with values provided, we suggest a minimum bid of at least half the value o For items marked as “Priceless,” minimum bids are provided In the case of Silent Auction items, the highest Absentee Bids will be revealed as opening bids at the Evening Under the Stars event. In the case of Live Auction items, a proxy bidder (an Evening Under the Stars Committee Member) will participate in the Live Auction by bidding on behalf of the Absentee Bidder, up to the maximum amount indicated on the Absentee Bid form. To win an item, the Absentee Bid must exceed the top bid by at least the minimum increment. Please remember that your Absentee Bid is a commitment to purchase the item. If you are the winner, you will be required to make your payment with either Cash or Check (payable to PES PTO). Credit card payments are only available the night of the Evening Under the Stars event. Payment for items won by Absentee Bid must be received within 3 days (by Tuesday, April 8, 2014). If payment is not received within 3 days, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder. 1 About Absentee Bidding Please note the following general information: The Evening Under the Stars committee has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly, but all property is sold “as is” and PES and PES PTO neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no event be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, value, genuineness, authorship or condition of the property. No statement contained in the program or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed as a warrantee, representation, or assumption of liability. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges. Winners must arrange directly with the donor for services referenced. All items and/or services must be used within the dates specified (if any) on the certificate. All values set forth were given by the donors and are not warranted by PES, or PES PTO for tax or general purposes. Remember… NO ABSENTEE BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE OF: Friday, April 4th at 3:00 pm. We are so excited about the event and thrilled to be able to give those who cannot attend an opportunity to participate and support PES. Thanks for your support of this exciting event. Please contact Cathy Winter at 264-3757 if you have any questions. 2 Auction Items Live Auction Items L1 Ball signed by NY Met David Wright Donated by: Mets Baseball Value: Priceless Minimum Bid: $50 L2 Boston Getaway - Boston Duck Tour & Red Sox Home Game tickets for 2 Value: $227 Two tickets to a Red Sox Home Game and two tickets for a Boston Duck Tour ride during April, September, October or November (Expires 11/30/14) L3 Sporting Fun - Admission for 4 to Bridgeport Bluefish Baseball, Bridgeport Sound Tigers & New Britain Rock Cats, PLUS Passes to Sports Center of CT and 50 tokens for All Star Batting Value: $336 Four reserved seats to any 2014 home Bridgeport Bluefish Game; 4 tickets to a 20142015 Bridgeport Sound Tigers regular season game at the Webster Bank Arena (Not valid for Home Opener or Islanders pre-season game); New Britain Rock Cats 4 reserved tickets (April or May 2014 game); Sports Center of CT Gift certificate with various Sports Center Activities (lazer tag game, open skate admission, game of Fun Bowl, 4 game tokens, mini golf for up to 4 people and batting cage token); and 50 Tokens for Batting Cages at All Star Batting in Danbury L4 Birthday Party for up to 20 Children (includes pizza & cake) Donated by: Tribury Karate Value: $299 Party includes pizza, cake and 1.5 hours of fun!
