GENERAL This is a 2 car, Chase Event. Overtaking is PROHIBITED. 2. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS All drivers must be holders of a valid driving licence. 3. EVENT DATES & VENUES Round 1: 22 March 2014, UniMAP Round 2: 12 April 2014, MIMC Round 3: 21 June 2014, Elite Speedway Round 4: 30 August 2014, UniMAP Round 5: 27 September 2014, MIMC Round 6: 8 November 2014, TBC 4. OFFICIALS OF THE MEETING The following Officials are responsible for their respective duties. Participants are to consult the correct official in such matters. ENTRIES • • • • • • • • • • • Entries open 1 month prior to event date and close at 5pm Wednesday, 3 days before the event. Any Entries received on Thursday, Friday before event is considered Late Entry. Acceptance of entry is at the sole discretion of the organisers and promoters who have the right to reject entries without giving reasons. Please submit entries to Matrix Motorsports Promotion Sdn Bhd or any of its assigned Registration Agents. Entries will be accepted up to the maximum number of allowable participants. All Categories RM150 per entry. Refundable Discipline deposit of RM 100.00 required (will be refunded after the event) Late Entry (Thursday & Friday) will be charged additional RM100 per entry. No Entries will be accepted on event day. Payment must be made by cash only. The decision of the organisers on all matters of payment is final. Competitors are responsible for sending correct and complete entries with the correct entry fees prior to the entry closing dates. The entry fee may be refunded under the following conditions: o Refusal of entry. o Entry fee will not be refunded for participant who has excluded from the race due to any type infringement. ELIGIBLE VEHICLES & CATEGORIES 6.1 Special Kei Front/Mid/Rear Engine, FWD/RWD /4WD cars with naturally aspirated engines below 1000cc or forced induction engines up to 660cc, high volume unibody monocoque chassis only. Limited to production cars which conform to the original Japanese production kei-car dimensions of: Max Length: 3.4m. Max width: 1.48m. Limited to OEM narrow-body setup. Tyres must not protrude beyond the bodywork. Street tyres only. 6.2 Super 1500 Front/Mid/Rear Engine, FWD/RWD /4WD cars with naturally aspirated engines below 1500cc or forced induction engines up to 1000cc, high volume unibody monocoque chassis only. (Lotus Elise/Exige/ Ariel Atom/KTM X-Bow/Radical etc do not qualify). No Rotary Engined cars. 6.3 Street Tuned Front/Mid/Rear Engine, FWD/RWD /4WD cars, high volume unibody monocoque chassis only (Lotus Elise/Exige/ Ariel Atom/KTM X-Bow/Radical etc do not qualify). Specific capacities and engines permitted are: o Forced induction up to 1600cc (turbo or super) o Naturally aspirated with following limitations: - 4-valve and 5-valve per cylinder engines up to 1900cc - 2-valve and 3-valve per cylinder engines up to 2500cc - Mazda rotary-engine up to 1308cc (maximum 2 rotors only) peripheral port not permitted, - Honda VTEC engines not permitted. Other Variable Valve Timing engines are permitted ie MIVEC, VVTI, VANOS, etc. 6.4 Open, VTEC & Turbo Front/Mid/Rear Engine, FWD/RWD /4WD cars, high volume unibody monocoque chassis only (Lotus Elise/Exige/ Ariel Atom/KTM X-Bow/Radical etc do not qualify). Rotary engines permitted, as well as Honda VTEC engines and turbocharged engines. Physical engine capacity limit of 2500cc. Also NA engines that are beyond the capacity limits of the lower categories ie 2000cc 4-valve engines. Organisers reserve the right to move a participant’s car into a different category as deemed necessary 7. EVENT PROGRAMME (TBA) 8. COMPETITORS BRIEFING • • • It is compulsory for all participating drivers to attend the Competitors briefing for the event. Failing to do so will merit an exclusion from the event. The organiser will confirm the exact date, time and venue of the briefing. The Event Management reserves the right to organise a special briefing in addition to the compulsory briefing. 9. SCRUTINEERING • • • • • All vehicles must comply with the SNF Touge Technical Regulations. Refer to the said regulations for each category. All stickers requirement as stated by the Organiser must be properly placed on the vehicle prior to the scrutineering. All vehicles will be issued with an “OK” sticker by the Scrutineers once the scrutineering has been successfully completed. Throughout the entire duration of the event, the vehicle must comply with the Technical Regulations in all points. Engines may be sealed and the organiser may impound vehicles for further examination. Any vehicle, which after having passed scrutineering, is damaged, must be re-presented to the Scrutineers after repair and be approved in order to be allowed to continue. METHOD OF RUNNING TOUGE BATTLE Each battle will comprise of 2 runs: - Run 1 will have Car A in front and Car B chasing - Run 2 will have Car B in front and Car A chasing - Start procedure will be similar to drift events where cars start side-by-side, then car on left proceeds ahead into the first turn 10.1 Declaring the Winner The winner of each Battle is declared by the following: - If gap between Lead car and Chase car is more than 1 car length, Lead car wins. - If gap between Lead car and Chase car is closer than 1 car length, Chase car wins. - The decision will be made by a panel of Judges of Fact. The Judges decisions are final. - Following the true concept of Touge, the gap of ‘1 car length’ is purely visual, and based on the professionalism of the Judges. In races where the gaps are less than 1 car length, the professionalism of the Judges will be called upon, and their decision is final. - In the event of a Tie whereby Car A wins Run 1 and Car B wins Run 2, then there will be a Sudden Death Run. 10.2 Sudden Death There will be one additional run to decide a winner. Positions of Chase car and Lead car will be decided by ballot or simple scissors-paper-stone game (best of 3). Based on a single run, the Winner will be decided. 10.3 Driving Discipline A panel of 3 Judges supplemented by the event Marshals will oversee the Battles as they take place. The following actions are forbidden and will result in immediate disqualification and forfeit of the refundable Discipline deposit: - overtaking - premeditated bumping or knocking - premeditated brake-testing or sudden slowing down by the Lead car with the intent to disrupt the Chase car 10.4 Judging Each individual decision by each judge will be recorded and the final result of a Battle will be decided by the majority score of the Panel of Judges. The decision of the Judges is final. Any protest against a decision must be accompanied by a Protest Fee of RM 100. Finish line judging will will be supported by a video camera to record the finish of battles. Should there be a protest by a competitor, the video evidence may be used for the Judges to check back on the decision. 11. DRIVING STANDARDS Dangerous Driving is absolutely prohibited. Participants guilty of these incidents will be excluded from the race results with immediate effect. Participants guilty of these incidents will be fined and could be banned from any future participation in Ignition.my events. Dangerous Driving are: • Bumping and nudging. • Weaving on the straights to block the driver behind. Basically, any form of blocking. • Speeding or Burn Outs in the Pit Lane. • Driving in the opposite direction in the Pit Lane. • Entering the Pit Lane through the Pit Lane exit. PITLANE SAFETY, PIT STOPS, REFUELLING AND REPAIRS • • • • The outer lane is to be kept unobstructed to allow safe passage of cars at all times. Stopping in this lane is prohibited. The onus shall be on all drivers to take all due care. The speed limit is 20km/h. No repairs or refuelling will be allowed in the pit lane. Any repairs must be conducted in the pits. Large umbrellas may be used along the signalling wall to protect from rain and night. They must be securely tied to the railing along the pit signalling area. Anyone found to be intoxicated will be barred from entry to the paddock. 13. ORGANISERS AND PROMOTERS RIGHTS • The organisers may abandon, cancel or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances. • The organisers may cancel any category, which has less than 5 cars or amalgamate them with another category at the discretion of the organisers. • The organisers may exclude any vehicle which not complies with the scrutineer standard. • The organisers have the right to stop the event or any driver for any reason with the Stewards Consent. • The organiser are indemnified from any participants having any contacts/collision with another car(s) and/or damage to Venue properties. These will have to be settled privately between parties involved. • Damages to circuit facilities or equipment as result of contacts/collision will be borne by the parties involved. 14. SAFETY EQUIPEMENT AND PITS • • • • • The pit allocation will be done by the organisers and the decision is final. Drivers and crew must be properly attired in pits. Minimum acceptable: T-shirt, Jeans and Shoes (slippers are not allowed in the pits.) Pit to driver radio communication is permitted. Anyone found intoxicated in the pits and paddock will be removed from the circuit Children below 16 years old are not allowed on the pitwall or pitlane. 15. ADVERTISING • • • • Competitors are obliged to carry the main sponsor and co-sponsor stickers (to be announced) at designated spaces on the car. The decision of the organisers is final. Stickers must be in position before a car can be scrutineered. Any other advertising carried by a competitor must be declared to the organisers for approval. The organisers’ decision on this matter is final. The competition number if supplied by the organisers cannot be mutilated. Any branding on them cannot be cut off. Rejection Fees for not carrying sponsors decals is as follows: o Main Sponsor: RM5,000.00, Co Sponsor: RM3,000.00 per co-sponsor. 16. PENALTIES AND PROTEST. • • • • • • • • • Exceeding the pit lane speed limit, participant will be fined & may be excluded from the events. For Dangerous driving, participant will be fined & may be excluded from the events. Provoking a fight: Exclusion from race + Ban of Team and team members from SNF for up to 12 months +RM2,000.00 Retaliating in a fight: Exclusion + RM2,000.00 Smoking & drinking alcohol in Pit Area: Ejection from pit area + RM300.00 Illegal parking at Paddock area: RM100.00 Other offences: At Stewards discretion Notice of appeal must be given within 1 hour upon the publication of the protest finding by the Stewards of the Meeting. This must be accompanied with the appeal fee of RM2500.00 Protests against decisions of the judges of fact as well as collective protests are not admitted. TROPHIES & PRIZES 17.1 • • • Individual Rounds In each round the Top-5 Finishers in each Category and Sub category will be awarded a Trophy. If there are less than 8 entries in a Category or Sub-Category, the organisers will only issue trophies for the Top-3 finishers. If there are less than 3 entries in a Category or Sub-Category, the organisers have the right to not award trophies.
