D. awards will be issued on a first come, first serve basis as long as funds are available. 2010 Spring activity guide March - May 5 Lathrop Library City of Lathrop VoLUNtEEr LitEraCy tUtorS NEEDED according to the national adult literacy survey, 24% of adults in California are at the lowest literacy level. The adult literacy program, a free county-wide program, is one way that the library is trying to eradicate this problem. The program matches english-speaking adults with volunteer tutors for confidential, one-onone tutoring. Tutors and learners commit to meet for six months, twice a week, throughout the county. volunteers must have good reading and math skills. In 1995, Future Stars incorporated as a non-profit public service 501c3 organization.
