This new generation of multiswitches is stacked by sliding an additional multiswitch on top of the first unit already installed. Thereby, the headend can be expanded in depth with a minimum number of modifications and requiring same space for it. FIRST UNIT OUTPUT SATELLITES SAT A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H (mixing satellites from both first and second unites) The connection between receiver outputs to the loop-inputs is made by special coaxial leads featuring quick-type connectors for ease of installation. SAT A, B SAT C, D The Multimat 2 units are made of diecast. An ABS plastic cover protect the unit and connectors by means of plastic slides on both ends of the unit. Multimat 2 includes a range of accessories such as an easy low loss 9 and 17 way plug-in TAP for the main trunk line (1 dB) to allow big low loss IF-networks. TAPs are designed for direct connection to the Multimat 2 multiswitch without additional cables. The IF network can be designed using a minimum number of amplifiers for mantaining the BER all along the cascade system.
