WELCOME TO TEAMWORKS SUMMER CAMP 2016 Dear Families, Summer will be here before you know it and we are expecting another amazing camp season. Teamworks Northborough would like to take the time to welcome back the families that continue to support Teamworks Camps and to also greet the families that will be considering our camp for the first time. This summer will be our 19th summer season filled with friendship, adventure and fun. Our goal at Teamworks is to provide each and every child a summer camp experience full of lasting memories, friendships, excitement, and opportunities for growth. No matter what your child enjoys, whether it is games or sports, chances are we have the right program for them. With the help of our well-trained staff, your child will spend their summer days developing skills and boosting their self-esteem through a variety of safe, structured activities. We want you to be as confident as we are in sending your family here. Rain or shine your child will always have a safe, fun, dry place to explore the opportunities of camp. Don’t forget to check out our Theme Day Calendar! We believe bringing together the entire camp for a special event makes for unforgettable memories. Wacky Wednesdays celebrate Mustaches, Crazy Hair and Star Wars. Weekly special events such as our annual Camp Carnival, Olympic Day and Color War highlight our summer theme day calendar. The Teamworks Super Bowls and Talent Shows create a summer full of excitement and fun activities. We encourage you to come visit us and check out our facility. Our staff is available to help you with any questions you may have, and to also personally meet with you for a facility tour. This informational brochure can help guide you in understanding the different Camp Programs and provide you with General Information. Teamworks Northborough is a multifunctional facility, which offers year round recreational activity inside and out. Campers stay busy by taking advantage of our 3 indoor turf fields, indoor sport court, outdoor heated pool, outdoor climbing tower, challenge course, and other outdoor venues. Teamworks is inspected and licensed by the local board of health and meets all regulatory standards established by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. CAMP HOURS Camper Sign-In: 8am – 9am Camp Program: 9am – 4pm Extended Day Option 1: 4pm – 5pm Camper Pick-Up: 3:30pm - 4pm Extended Day Option 2: 4pm – 6pm Late charges will apply if child is picked up late. To avoid interruption in your camper’s day, please try to drop off and pick up your child at the appropriate time. *Full day camp hours. Please see specific camps for half day options. Teamworks Northborough staff consists of experienced, talented, and dedicated people who truly enjoy working with children. We have a genuine interest in providing a fun and safe place for kids to be themselves. Our staff is certified in basic first aid and CPR, as well as trained for specialty programs like our challenge course. All of Teamworks Northborough’s staff receives a thorough background check, including three written references, CORI’s and SORI’s. Check out “About the Staff” on our Website! Registration Process Registration is Easy!!! 1 Register online at: www.teamworksnorthboro.com 2 Register by phone with a Teamworks Staff Member at 508-351-9800. 3 Register at Teamworks (185 Otis St., Northboro, MA) and check out our facility. Note: A $50 non-refundable deposit is required upon registration for each full week of camp and a full payment is required for single day registrations. Full payments are due 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp week. Teamworks encourages participants to register for camp as soon as possible. All camps have maximum enrollments. What do we need from families before they have fun at Teamworks? 1. Paperwork! All Teamworks paperwork must be filled out, completed, and submitted to the office at least 2 weeks prior to your child attending camp. This includes the parent packet and physical/immunization records (Parent Packet / Forms available online). Per Board of health regulations 430.150, Teamworks is not allowed to have any child in camp without this paperwork submitted. 2. Teamworks Membership All campers must have a valid Teamworks Membership for the duration of camp attendance ($20). Purchase online and SAVE $5! 3. What To Bring Equipment: Campers are required to bring their own equipment, with their name clearly marked on it, for some of our specialty camps. Please check with a staff member when registering or visit our website for a list of required equipment. Sunscreen: Campers will be in the sun! Please remember to apply sunscreen prior to camp each day and provide a bottle of sunscreen with your child’s name clearly labelled so our counselors can help your child re-apply their sunscreen throughout the day. Snack/Lunch: Campers will have snack time in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. Campers may bring their snack & lunch in a bag with their name CLEARLY marked on it, or purchase Teamworks snack & lunch for an additional price in the morning during sign-in. Ways for Families to Save Money Early Bird Discount Save money and secure a spot by registering early! Register on or before April 30th for a FULL WEEK of full day camp (Full Week= Monday through Friday of the same week) in order to qualify for our Early Bird Discount. This will entitle you to receive a discount of $20 per child, per week. *Online prices will reflect this discount and will change to standard fees on May 1st. r Camp Summe 2016 Family Loyalty Discount The more weeks you sign up for, the more you save with our Loyalty Discount Program. This means you’ll pay the regular price for your first camp week, but by the time you attend your second, you’ll start benefitting from the discount. Even better, camp weeks are totaled up by household. So if you have multiple children attending camp, you will receive discounts even faster! EXTENDED DAY OPTIONS Our regular full day camp ends at 4pm. Parents who require care after 4pm have two extended day options: OPTION 1: 4pm-5pm for $60/week or $15/day OPTION 2: 4pm-6pm for $100/week or $25/day Late parent/guardians should notify Teamworks via phone. Any unexpected delays create anxiety for both your child and our staff. Any child picked up after scheduled camp hours (4pm & 5pm) will be charged $15 and (6pm) will be charged a dollar per minute. Extended Day has maximum enrollments, so please plan accordingly. If you sign up for... Each new family that you refer, who registers for a full week of summer camp, will earn you $40 OFF** one week of your camper’s 2016 camp fee. In addition, the person you refer will receive $40 OFF** the first week of his or her camp! So bring a friend, a relative, or anyone else you know, and enjoy a great summer at Teamworks. * Does not include immediate family members. Please check our Family Loyalty Discount for special family rates. ** $40 OFF applies to full-day, full week registrations only. Traditional Camp (Ages 7-14) SPORTS Camp (Ages 7-14) Traditional Camp is perfect for kids who are looking to experience summer camp in a non-competitive environment. Their fun filled day will include playground games, sports, arts & crafts, water games, and team-building. Campers should expect an active day be filled with laughter and a positive atmosphere while making new friends. They will also have the opportunity to use our pool, as well as our climbing tower and ropes course while conquering their fears. This camp is designed for our campers who can’t get enough sports! Campers will spend most of their day playing popular sports and learning new ones. The program is structured so that your child will play, as well as gain knowledge about, one or two sports a day - but also get a taste of some traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts, water games, team-building, climbing tower, challenge course and much more! (Due to a varying camp schedule, single day participants may not experience all of the above activities). r Camp Summe 2016 Cubs Camp - Traditional Camp & Sports Camp (Ages 4-6) TEAMWORKS Cubs Camp is designed with our youngest campers in mind! This program offers age appropriate games, activities, and modified sports in a supportive and encouraging environment. Cubs Camp is our version of Traditional and Sports Camp geared towards younger campers. This camp has a 5:1 Camper-to-Staff ratio to ensure maximum attention and instruction to these young campers. Half Day Cubs Traditional Camp (ages 4-6) and Half Day Cubs Sports Camp (Ages 5-6) provide younger campers an opportunity to get a taste of summer camp in a shorter program structure. Pick-up is at 12:30pm; Lunch options are available. Half Day Campers will not be using the Swimming Pool. All Full Day Cubs Campers will have a daily swimming time supervised by our experienced staff members and lifeguards. Full Day Campers will also be provided with an afternoon snack. Campers using the pool must be able to independently change in and out of clothes to have pool time. ALL Campers must also be potty trained. Our full Theme Day calendar is available online. “LEARN TO PLAY” CAMPS Our “Learn to” camps are designed for beginners to actively learn the fundamentals of the game. Our experienced staff will teach the basic rules, skills, and knowledge to help them not only take a further interest in the sport but help them succeed with confidence and prepare them for the next level of play. Learn To Skateboard (Ages 6-8) The goal of this camp is to help introduce beginning skaters to the fundamentals of skateboarding in a safe and fun environment. Beginners will learn the basics of how to push, turn, and stop. Skaters will also be introduced to carving techniques, rolling into transitions, and pumping. No prior experience required. Your child will have fun, absorb critical information from our experienced coaches, and gain confidence while learning to push, glide, turn, and stop. Full equipment is needed to participate. Learn To Skateboard is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 3, Week 7 Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Skateboard w/ Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Skateboard Only) r Camp Summe 2016 * All “Learn to Play” Camps are a half-day camp (9am-Noon) with a full day option. * Full Day options will include either Cubs Sports or regular Sports Camp for the afternoon. Learn To Play Lacrosse (Ages 6-8) Learn To Play Lacrosse Camp introduces beginners to the fundamentals of lacrosse. This 3 hour clinic will include cradling, picking up ground balls, shooting, and catching & throwing. Campers will also learn the basics of individual offense, defense, and game play situations. Your future Lacrosse player will have fun and learn new knowledge while building confidence to elevate their game to the next level of play. Only a stick is needed to participate. Learn To Play Lacrosse is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 5 (Boys), Week 7 (Girls), Week 9 (Boys) Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Lacrosse w/Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Larosse Only) Learn To Play Flag Football (Ages 6-8) Learn To Play Flag Football will introduce the fundamentals of flag football including passing, catching, running, defense, and various game strategies. Players learn how to compete in a fun and entertaining environment while working together as a team. Your future football player will work on footwork, speed and agility through interactive games, drills, and obstacle courses while our experienced coaches emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship. Football players will be sure to have fun, Learn To Play Flag Football, and Score Touchdowns! Learn To Play Flag Football is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 4, Week 8 Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Football w/Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Football Only) Specialty CAMPS Flag Football (Ages 8-14) If your child is looking to gain knowledge of the sport of football and get a full day of games, activities, and sports this is the camp for them. Your camper will learn the essential skills of the game from our seasoned staff of the following skills: passing, catching, positioning, receiving, and more. Throughout the week, campers will get a taste of other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. The week will culminate with a SUPER BOWL game Friday afternoon (Spectators welcome!!). Weeks offered: Week 5, Week 7, Week 9, Week 11 Fees: $285 per week (full day) Cheerleading (Ages 6-10) Get that winning spirit into full gear with TEAMWORKS Cheerleading Camp! Participants will receive hands-on training and gain experience with many different cheers, stunts, and dance techniques. Throughout the week, campers will get a taste of other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. Cheerleaders will also learn a routine that will be performed at the end of the week at our SUPER BOWL halftime show (Spectators welcome!). Weeks offered: Week 5, Week 7, Week 9, Week 11 Fees: $285 per week (full day) Skateboarding (Ages 7-14) Skateboarding Camp is designed to help strengthen and develop all skills of the sport. Experienced staff will offer instruction and coaching while giving campers a unique opportunity to safely refresh the fundamental skills, skater safety, tricks and maneuvers, as well as skater etiquette. Throughout the week, campers will get a taste of other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the ropes course. Remember parents, this is an extreme sport and campers will be trying some thrilling tricks! Full Equipment is needed to participate. Weeks offered: Week 5, Week 9, Week 11 Fees: $285 per week (Full Day) FC Stars Soccer (Ages 7-14) Basketball (Ages 7-14) The FC Stars Soccer Camp is designed to help make your son or daughter a better soccer player. Whether your child is a beginner or experienced player, this program will help improve their skills through individual technical development and small-sided games. Coached by FC Stars of Mass. Full Day Camper will spend the afternoon playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. Learn to handle the ball like the Celtics at Teamworks Basketball camp. Basketball camp will concentrate on developing skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, offensive team play and defense. This camp is full of small scrimmages, and contests to show off your court skills. . After campers get their fill of Basketball, they will spend the other half of the day playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. FC Stars Soccer is a half-day camp (9amnoon) with a full day option. Basketball is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Our highly knowledgeable instructors will teach your child the fundamentals and techniques of the game. Each day campers will work on drills to improve their skill level, and then use those skills in modified games. Drills will focus on throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding. After campers get their fill of Baseball, they will spend the rest of the day playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. Weeks offered: Week 6, Week 9 Fees: $285 per week (full day) Softball (Ages 7-12) Coed Volleyball (Ages 9-14) Girls’ softball campers learn the fundamental skills, techniques and strategies needed to become a successful softball player in this specialty camp. Participants will have the opportunities to develop fielding, throwing, base running, catching, and hitting skills. Mornings will focus on skill development and afternoon sessions will be filled with playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. This specialty camp will teach your child the fundamentals of volleyball while placing an emphasis on sportsmanship, strategy, and teamwork. This camp will concentrate on developing skills such as passing, setting, serving, offense, spiking, and defense. Mornings will focus on skill development and afternoon sessions will be filled with playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course. Get ready to bump, set, and spike! Weeks offered: Week 11 Volleyball is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Fees: $285 per week (full day) Weeks offered: Week 4, Week 7 Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Volleyball w/ Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Volleyball Only) Field Hockey (Ages 6-12) This camp provides the opportunity for campers to increase their individual skills including: stick work, dodging skills, footwork, and agilities. These skills are acquired through a number of fun, smallsided games led by our trained coaches. Players will also be able to use the skills that they learn and incorporate them into scrimmages throughout the week. Full day campers will spend the afternoons playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming and teambuilding. Full Equipment is needed to participate. Field Hockey is a half-day camp (9amnoon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 7 Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Field Hockey w/ Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Field Hockey Only) Parkour (Ages 8-14) Teamworks is very excited to offer Parkour Camp! As an up and coming sport, Parkour has generated a lot of interest with kids of all ages. Our experienced coaches will help your child improve their agility and teach them to move through their environment in a quicker, more efficient way. In a safe, structured environment, your child will tumble, roll, twist, jump, vault, climb, and more. Mornings will focus on skill development and afternoon sessions will be filled with playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the ropes course. Parkour is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 5, Week 8, Week 11 Fees: $315 per week Full Day (Parkour w/Sports) $190 per week Half Day (Parkour Only) r Camp Summe 2016 Dodgeball (Ages 8-14) Come and learn the fundamentals of dodgeball in our popular Dodgeball Camp. Each day your child will learn a different variation to the game of dodgeball. Campers will work on throwing, catching and ball shielding skills (techniques) in addition to dodging skills. After campers get their fill of Dodgeball, they will spend the other half of the day playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming and teambuilding. Come ready to dodge, duck, dip, dive, & dodge! Dodgeball is a half-day camp (9am-noon) with a full day option. Weeks offered: Week 6, Week 8, Week 10 Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Dodgeball w/ Sports) $170 per week Half Day (Dodgeball Only) Outdoor Adventures (Ages 9-14) This Outdoor Adventures program is designed for children interested in participating in challenging and fun activities. Each day children will challenge themselves in various activities including: rock climbing, high ropes course challenges, low ropes course challenges, teambuilding, knot tying and more! Throughout the week, campers will get a taste of other popular sports and traditional camp activities like swimming. This program will help your child confront his/her fears and develop the confidence to overcome them. Weeks offered: Week 3, Week 6, Week 10 Fees: $285 per week (Full Day) Counselor-In-Training Program (Ages 14-17) Weeks offered: Week 4, Week 11 TEAMWORKS will once again be offering our training program for inspired young adults interested in being future camp counselors, educators, or future leaders. This program will equip CIT’s with leadership skills and knowledge they will use for the rest of their lives. In a safe and friendly environment TEAMWORKS will provide your child with skills such as problem solving, understanding accountability and responsibility, working together as a team and most importantly real life work experience. This is a 2-week program. The first week your child will learn skills through a combination of fun and challenging group sessions. The second week, CITs will get hands-on experience working with kids. CIT’s will experience a classroom type setting and then apply skills learned with groups of campers while they’re paired with experienced counselors leading games, activities, and more. Fees: $285 per week Full Day (Frisbee w/ Sports) Visit our website for our CIT application Ultimate Frisbee (Ages 8-14) Ultimate Frisbee is a quick, fun, noncontact game that mixes elements from other sports into one high energy game. Led by experienced staff, this camp will cover the basics of “ultimate”- different throws, techniques, speed training, and offense & defense skills. After campers get their fill of Ultimate Frisbee, they will spend the other half of the day playing other popular sports and traditional camp activities such as swimming, climbing tower, and the rope course.
