RED FEZ
July 2016
WOW! What an amazing night at the Potentates Ball. Eight
Shrines were represented and Ron Klee the President of MASA
was in attendance. The Ballroom looked Beautiful. Thank You Ladies of the Ball Committee. Fun and Laughter was had by all. The
STEAK & LOBSTER was to die for. DJ Plummer kept us dancing
all night. The after Party at Comfort Inn and Suites was full of fun
and fellowship. Ed and Sue Richards did a wonderful job with the
food and a full bar was taken care of by Gregg Viands PP and Tom
Kimble PP. Desserts were provided by the Desert Legion Ladies.
Everyone had a great time, I could tell because it closed at 3:30
AM. The grounds look great due to the hard work of the garden
club with help from Noble Ernie Messick and Noble Packi. Marsha
and I felt very special due to the love everyone shared with us. We
are truly blessed to have the Nobles of Ali Ghan. We will cherish
that night forever.
Your Imperial Representatives will be leaving soon for the 2016
Imperial session in Tampa. We will be back in time for the Patient
Family Picnic on July 9th. Keep your calendars free so you can attend the Car Cruise on July 30TH, it is going to be amazing with
many classic cars to see, and good food to eat.
Our Ali Ghan website is up and running, and looks great. Special
thanks to Jason Nicol for bringing the website out of the dark ages.
The RED FEZ will now be posted monthly on the website and on
the Ali Ghan Facebook page. We will no longer be mailing them
unless you are a RED FEZ BOOSTER, this translates into a nine
thousand dollar a year savings to the Temple. In this current
economy we couldn’t continue to absorb that kind of loss of revenue any longer. Thank You for your support in this matter.
If you have not already done so please sign up and pay your deposit for M.A.S.A. It is going to be the best time you have ever had
there. Lots of prizes will be given out throughout the week and a
CIRCUS Themed party on Thursday night will be so much Fun. If
you haven’t already bought a “win a trip to MASA” ticket please

see me or a Divan member to get one. They are still available.
There will be a Financial Update meeting coming soon to the
membership. The Divan is working very hard on this matter,
and will update you soon on our progress. The best thing the
membership can do to help is to continue to support the events
at Ali Ghan.

Well our year is half over and looking forward to our 4th of July meeting. We hope to have a nice cookout for this meeting with all the
trimmings. Cost for this is $10.00
At our June meeting we had eleven members in attendance including
charter member Charlie Hardy and Past Potentates Wayne Couter &
Gary Shriver.
Illustrious Sir Joe Kennedy gave us an update on the success of the
fundraiser to this date including a successful Circus. The Potentates
Ball in on June 25th, and patient’s picnic is July 9th.
We fixed breakfast for the Ceremonial at the Railroad Unit building
and served approximately 60 members including the new candidates.
Curt Haines has a bus trip to the Philadelphia Hospital on June 25th, if
interested please give Curt a call to reserve a seat for $30.
Several members are recovering from medical problems including
Mary Hooton, Bob Bowers, Bill Mickey, Bill Bratt, and Gregg Viands.
Don’t forget, we have upcoming events at the Railroad Unit this
month including The Tall cedars picnic on June 24th, at 5pm, and the
Willow Valley picnic and train run on June 30th at 8am. Come on out
and give us a hand. We need the help.
We served approximately 85 spaghetti dinners at our June dinner.
A schedule of our 2016 train runs has been sent out by e-mail and it
was handed out at our last meeting. If you need one let us know and
we will see that you get one. We need all the help we can get.
Thanks for all the help.

We were treated to delicious barbecued chicken prepared
by Roger and also very delicious Deserts prepared by Tammy . We also had a variety of delicious casserole dishes and
salads made by the ladies of the unit.
We had a short business meeting to discuss a few things
coming up over our Summer recess and voted on giving
permission to our Secretary David and Treasure Roger to
handle any business and pay any bills during our recess.
Our next meeting will be October 11th , at Shooters. We will
have a guest speaker. Hopefully, we will have a larger turn
out than our May meeting when we held it on Sunday, May
15 , at the Shrine Club with Wendy Upchurch from Upchurch Funeral Home as our guest speaker. She was very
informative and we learned a lot from her. "Thank you"
again Wendy for taking time from you busy schedule to be
with us.
In closing I would like to give our sincere Thanks and appreciation to Roger and Tammy for sharing their beautiful
home with our Past Masters Family. They made us all feel
so welcome and a good time was had by all. Hope to see
everyone at Shooters on October 11th. Pat will be giving you
all a call !!!!
