The lowest fee for a program will always be a facility member fee. PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP This membership is for individuals who want to participate in programs, but not utilize the rest of the facility on a regular basis. Benefits include two facility passes per year, 50% off youth day passes or $4 off the adult day pass fee, and a reduced rate on fees for programs such as youth sports, swimming lessons, and more! Please refer to each camp for more specific age requirements. ONE-WEEK OPTION A limited number of one week day camp spaces are available at designated sites; see page 11 for one week camp rates. Please check with the Program Office for availability. REGISTRATION & MEMBERSHIP Everyone is welcome to participate in YMCA camps! If you are not currently a member, there is a $40 registration fee in order to participate in camps. This fee entitles you to an individual program membership and is good for one calendar year. It also entitles you to discounts on other YMCA programs. CAMPER HEALTH INFORMATION All camper Health History & Medical Release forms are due on the FIRST day of camp. Please turn them in at the camp site your child is attending. Due to ACA regulations, a copy of your child’s immunization record is required. Also, to best serve your child, please inform our staff of any allergies or special health conditions that may exist. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The YMCA offers reduced rates for income eligible families who wish to participate in our camping programs. Eligibility forms must be completed & approved prior to enrollment. Please allow 7-10 days for this process. To apply or for more information, please stop by or call the Program Office at 544-1829 or download an application from our website. OUR LEADERSHIP We take great pride in the quality of our YMCA staff leadership. Enthusiasm, knowledge, responsibility, and genuine love for children are all prerequisites for our camp leaders. Our program leaders go through a rigorous training program which emphasizes child development, camper safety, and leadership skills. Great care is taken to ensure that our programs are of the highest quality & that each child receives the individual attention they deserve. WHEN & WHERE TO REGISTER The first day to register for summer camps is March 1st. You may register either online at www.scfymca.org or in person at the Program Office at 1207 College Avenue in Santa Rosa. You will also be able to register for camp at our HEALTHY KIDS DAY on April 30th! 11am-2pm at the Main YMCA. For more information on camps and registration, please call 707-544-1829. BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CHILDCARE PARTICIPANTS Children participating in our after school childcare program must enroll separately & pay deposits for camp. Camp is not a continuation of the school year. Option D Participants must register for camp PRIOR to April 25th. Otherwise, availability at preferred locations is not guaranteed after 4/26. Discount applies only to day, sports, moving-on, and the Y Kids Club. This discount does not apply to 1 week sessions, camps with a 3 day/week/session option, or to camp rates already reduced through financial assistance. DEPOSITS Camp programs fill up quickly! If not paying in full, a deposit is required for each child in order to reserve a space. Please note deposit fees: (ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.) $75 per session for resident camp $50 per session for moving-on camp $30 per session for day, sports, and specialty camps $15 per session for participants receiving financial assistance CIT program fees are due in full at the time of registration; no deposit option is available. PAYMENTS Final payments for each reserved camp are due no later than THREE WEEKS before the start of camp. We do not mail bills. Failure to make a final camp payment by the deadline will result in forfeiture of camp spot. A $15 reinstatement fee will be charged in order for the camper to be reinstated if a spot is still available. Camp fees may be paid by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. (Payments are not accepted at camp sites.) Payments can be mailed to 1203 College Ave, dropped off at the Program Office at 1207 College Ave, or called in to 544-1829. PROGRAM CANCELLATION In order to maintain high quality camp programs, we have established a minimum and maximum number of campers per camp. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient enrollment. TRANSFERS If your plans change and you need to transfer to a different session, we will be glad to accommodate you if a new session is available. Please note the following policies: Transfers must be requested in writing at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the camp session. One deposit per camper, per camp session may be transferred until 3 weeks prior to the session start date. Transfers made after the 3 week deadline will result in forfeiture of deposit. Transfers in excess of the allowed amount will result in forfeiture of deposit (or $15, $30, $50, or $75 depending on the camp to be transferred if the session is paid in full). There will be no retroactive transfers of deposits and/or full payments of camp sessions. REFUNDS We will refund camp fees paid in full, less a deposit (see above for amount) and a $10 bookkeeping fee, for cancellations made at least THREE WEEKS prior to the start of camp. In case of illness or injury, please provide a physician’s statement if the three week deadline has passed. A written refund request is required before a refund will be provided. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processed refunds. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed days at camp, for cancellations made after the three week deadline, or for campers suspended or ex- pelled from camp. RECEIPTS PLEASE RETAIN YOUR RECEIPTS FOR TAX PURPOSES. We are unable to run a report at tax time. Camp provides opportunities for personal growth and group spirit in a safe, fun, and supportive atmosphere. Children are involved in games, crafts, and theme related activities planned specifically for their age group. Campers will have two weeks filled of awesome group games, super fun craft projects, and no crime fighting camper is complete without some super accessories! Practice leaping over buildings at our trip to Rebounderz this session! Jetsetters grab your passports and imagination, we’re off on a new exotic adventure as we circle around the globe! Campers will learn about other cultures through camp games, music, activities, and even food. Everyday will bring a new experience or a diverse lifestyle from around the world, and discover new wildlife at our trip to the zoo! Session 1 Session 2 Field Trip: Rebounderz HOLIDAY HIJINX CULINARY ART CRAZE Dates: July 5-15 (No camp July 4) Dates: July 18-29 Who says we need April Fools Day to tell jokes and Valentines Day to tell someone we care for them? That just sounds like a normal day at Y camp to us - so why not celebrate them all? Campers will be able to enjoy all of their favorite holidays and the fun activities, games, and food that go with them during this holiday filled session! Discover the perfect recipe for the summer! Staff will help campers come up with healthy and unique snack creations, while also enjoying colorful crafts and having a blast playing everyone’s favorite camp games! Young art lovers and camp foodies look no further! Session 3 Session 4 Field Trip: Bowling Field Trip: Ice Skating Field Trip: SF Zoo THE SUMMER Y’LMPICS Session 5 Dates: August 1-12 It is our campers time to shine this summer during our very own Olympic (Y’lympic) games! Coinciding with the ‘16 Summer Olympics in Rio, our campers will participate in a variety of events, sports, and trivia to compete in our own friendly Y Games! Each session, a special emphasis will be placed on specific sports that includes skill sessions that provide campers with coaching and practice. Games and tournaments allow campers to test their skills. Our YMCA sports camp will also introduce our Areas of Focus that we believe help strengthen ourselves and our community. LETS BOUNCE Session 1 Dates: June 6-17 Campers with their eyes set on playing at the next level or just want to have fun competing, should look no further! Our basketball and soccer session will teach campers the fundamentals of both sports, as well as the importance of safety and teamwork. Campers will also get a chance to feel what it is like to slam dunk at our trip to Rebounderz! Campers will get a chance to learn what it takes to make healthy choices and how it benefits their development in their favorite sport. Swing away and dive for passes during our epic baseball and football session. Hand-eye-coordination drills, fun skill activities, and insanely fun baseball and football games will leave your campers wanting more! Don’t miss the epic A’s game field trip this week of camp! Our Y value will focus on how professional athletes give back to their communities and the benefit of helping others. On the pitch or on the free-throw line, campers will have a blast working on improving their skills through fun specialized drills and games. Our young athletes will discuss and reflect about the importance of doing the right thing and making the best choices possible, so they can become a healthy role model for their peers, siblings, and teammates. This hands-on camp will encourage your child to explore the mysteries of the world around them and get excited about the possibilities of science! KINETIC LIGHTS Fast Facts Session 1 Dates: June 6-17 Start off summer with some moving and grooving as we dive into the sciences behind all things moving - kinetic energy, projectile launching, trajectories, collisions, and even some self testing at the trampoline arena field trip to Rebounderz! We will also get to experiment with different lighting effects and learn how colors are seen with our eyes. Session 2 Dates: June 20– July 1 Say Ahhhh! Campers learn about the structure, organisms, and organs of the body, how physical activity plays a role in healthy living, and how the medical profession helps keep our bodies strong and healthy. We will also dive into some of the biology of aquatic fish and mammals while also exploring the mysterious creatures, plants, and other organisms of the ocean depths! Field Trip: SF Zoo Sciences: Anatomy, Physiology, and Nutrition S.T.E.M. CAMP Session 3 Dates: July 5-15 (No camp July 4) S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) camp focuses on those four science topics to see and understand how things work. The principles of imagination, exploration, collaboration, and design, will all be evident in fun group projects and experiments involving all sorts of tools - including everyone’s favorite Legos! MILKYWAYEXPLORERS Session 5 Dates: August 1-12 Blast off into the stars and hitchhike to Neptune and back with our astronomy session where campers will get to feel like real astronomers. Crafts and experiments are designed to inspire and instruct campers about the fascinating and endless world all around us! Our young explorers will also learn about how weather patterns are formed and the weather phenomenon that occur all around the world. Field Trip: Ice Skating Sciences: Astronomy & Meteorology Field Trip: Exploratorium Sciences: Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math INVESTIGATIVE GROSSOLOGY 101 Session 4 Dates: July 18– 29 Goop rules! Young mad scientists get down and dirty creating concoctions and potions and gurgling substances- some of them edible, some too icky to even think about eating. Campers will learn how science and even our 5 senses play a huge role in police work and crime scene investigations (and tasting jelly beans). Field Trip: Jelly Belly Factory Sciences: Chemistry & Forensic Science CAMP LOCATION: Santa Rosa Schaefer School - 1370 San Miguel Rd. 5 Sonoma County Family YMCA LITTLE CAMPSTERS The YMCA Little Campsters program provides fun opportunities for exploration, free choice time, art and music activities, games, and special events in a safe, nurturing environment. Each session is 2 weeks in length and you may choose either half or full days. Children will eat lunch at camp. Little Campsters is located at the YMCA Preschool, a year-round licensed program. Our little campsters will enjoy activities and crafts that are designed to encourage exploration, imagination, and fun. Our creative campsters will get an opportunity to create their own fun with our mini inventors session. Campers will be able to tinker with projects, create new ideas, and they will get all of their questions about how things are made answered! UNDER THE SEA Session 3 Dates: July 5-15 (No camp July 4) Campers will explore the oceans of the world and see how we play a big part of taking care of the ocean! They will also discover new marine life & plants that inhabits our oceans and beaches! SILLY SCIENTISTS Session 4 Dates: July 18-29 Calling all young scientists! This epic session is filled with experiments, puzzles, and new discoveries that will spark the mind and create lasting memories that will encourage scientific exploration in your little one! MINI Y’ LYMPICS Session 5 Dates: August 1-12 Kids will learn new games and sporting events in this miniature version of the Summer Olympics! Campers will also learn the importance of teamwork and trying for one’s personal best! Activities are specially designed for maximum excitement and will include theme-based games, songs, arts, crafts, swimming, and more! Campers will also enjoy one fun special guest or walking field trip per session. Parents, don’t miss this great opportunity for your kids to have classic summer fun as they play the day away at Summer Kids Club! Come join our crime fighting squad this session filled with energetic games, colorful activities and crafts, and even some minor costume design! Session will also include a dress up day and a talent show for campers to show off their super skills! Turkey and pumpkin pie in July? Fireworks and egg hunts in June? We took all of our favorite holidays throughout the year and scrambled them up this summer, so we can enjoy all of the fun, food, and togetherness that each holiday brings us! Take a trip back to another time when castles covered the hilltops, knights ruled the lands, and dragons soared above the skies! Crafts and activities will focus on imagination, illusions, and magic - while activities will be themed around adventure, competition, and teamwork. Staff will help campers come up with healthy and unique snack creations, while also enjoying colorful crafts and having a blast playing everyone’s favorite camp games! Each day will focus on a different academic area, and snack will be provided. Learning has never been so fun! CAMP LOCATIONS Sonoma Prestwood School - 343 E. Mac Arthur Sonoma County Family YMCA COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM Teens ages 13-15 will gain leadership skills and camp counseling experience with the Counselor In Training program. Learn teambuilding techniques, risk management, project planning, and methods for interaction with youth. The CIT program is a supportive atmosphere for teens to develop the ability to lead, gain understanding of self and others, and experience volunteering with youth in our camp programs. The program consists of trainings and placement for one session of camp. **CIT TRAINING IS MANDATORY, IF A CIT CANNOT ATTEND TRAINING, HE/SHE MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM** $200 Initial Program Fee $100 Fee for additional camp sessions (includes training manual, t-shirt, & one session of camp) TRAINING DATES: All trainings will be held at the Santa Rosa Middle School (500 E Street) Dates: Monday June 6th through Friday June 10th Times: 9am to 1pm (please bring lunch and snacks) RESIDENT CAMP YMCA Camp Ravencliff Ages 7-15 Contact the YMCA Program Office at (707) 544-1829 for pricing details and registration information. Located along the scenic Eel River in the town of Redway, California in Southern Humboldt County, YMCA Camp Ravencliff offers a unique camping experience for boys and girls. Camp activities include: swimming, crafts, singing, archery, canoeing, drama, games, nature, sports, campfires and much, much more! Each session is highlighted by an overnight campout at our outdoor campsites, sleeping under the stars and cooking over the campfire, making for an unforgettable experience. Camp Ravencliff encourages every camper to develop his or her personal values and skills, while building community through relationships within their cabin and the entire camp. Campers come home from Ravencliff with greater selfesteem and a newfound independence, with a store of memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Let your child experience the magic of Ravencliff this summer. Transportation is provided via chartered bus with a pick-up at 1111 College Avenue in Santa Rosa at approximately 8:30 am and drop-off at 5:15 pm the following Sunday. Transportation costs are included in the camp fees. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, campers will meet at Santa Rosa Middle School and take day trip activities from 8 am to 5 pm. On Thursdays, teens bring their sleeping bags as they hit the open road for an overnight and two full days of fun and adventure. These camps are structured to teach new skills, explore team building, and make new friends. Fast Facts Ages 11-13 Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Five fun-filled trips each week! Thursday night overnight camping Fee information available on page 11 KINGS AND QUEENS OF THE BEACH DON’T GO CHASING WATERSLIDES Session 1: June 13-17 Session 5: July 11-15 Cruise on down to Moving-On Camp as we get our week kicked off with a day splashing around in the Russian River. This week will wrap up with two days spent at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and an overnight adventure in the Santa Cruz Mountains. EXTREME SPORTS Session 2: June 20-24 GREATEST HITS OF SUMMER Session 6: July 18-22 Mini-Golf, check! Bowling, check! Swimming, check! Amusement Park, check! Be sure to get your camper checked in for a session of all of their favorite activities which wraps up with a trip to Great America! This week will get jumping with a trip to Rebounderz as campers will get the opportunity to have dunk contests and trampoline dodgeball. Then it is “Take Me out to the Ball EXPERIENCE CALIFORNIA Game” as campers will get the opportunity to take in some Session 7: July 25 - 29 Oakland A’s Baseball. TRAILS LESS TRAVELED Session 4: July 5-8 (No camp July 4) Campers will get to take the ride of their life this session! First, the outdoors-men and women will take a trip out to bodega to fish and spend a day at the beach. The week will wrap up as campers battle the rapids of the American River and take a trip White Water Rafting. Y CAMP: TOP CHEF Session 8: August 1-5 We will begin the week with a trip to the Academy of Science where we will learn about the limitless wonders of our Universe. The teen chefs will then be split into teams where they will plan and execute a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu in a “Top Chef” style competition. The week will wrap up at our Occidental YMCA Center for a night of movies, games, and fun! THE GREAT ESCAPE Session 9: August 8-12 CAMP LOCATION Santa Rosa Middle School - 500 E Street 9 We will spend a day testing the waters, with paddle boats and inner-tubes, at Johnson’s Beach on the Russian River. We will catch a mid-week flick and spend the day on “The Rock” better known as Alcatraz. The week will wrap up at Samuel P. Taylor State Park where we will sit around the fire and share our favorite tales of the summer! This will help to build your child’s motor skills, hand-eye coordination, agility and many sports specific skills. Your child will have a blast playing games with the other children that may include: baseball, basketball, soccer, flag football, capture the flag, relay & obstacle races and a whole lot more. Session Dates: These non-contact Flag Football programs are great for boys and girls. Players are grouped by age and ability to learn appropriate drills, skills, and techniques and teamwork in a positive and structured environment. In addition, children will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills and build self-esteem as they improve their technique.
