In the middle of the explosive 90’s, a new band from Colima, Mexico emerged from the surfaces of Alternative Rock. The band was Euforia, formed by Mario Duran, Alan Esparza and Jorge Rodriguez, three
students that shared the same feelings for music and for the trend that was flourishing back then.
At the same time, vocalist Chomps Fertz and guitarist Beto Ramirez were found playing together in several
local grunge bands; ammong them, La Adixion.
At the end of the 90’s, Chomps joined Euforia’s world to sing with them, and together they set out on a new
venture to Monterrey, NL, launching a CD with the underground record label “La Cueva”.
The chaotic birth of the 21st century brought the breaking up of La Adixion, the re-location of Euforia back
to Colima, and an unhappy and melancholic environment due to the disastrous 2003 earthquake in Colima.
In the middle of that year, all the guys got together for practice, just as a “jam” session, friendship and to
release energy doing some shows during Spring Break, hoping to regain the rock spirit and inspiration vital
for music makers.
Those hours of practice, or perhaps lab sessions that where merely to experiment with some happiness
to fight stress, gave positive results. Some Spring Break shows were cancelled, but at the same time they
were creating a really peculiar sound, that soon reached the ears of producer and friend of the guys Mike
Igartúa, who was finishing “DAC Center”, a recording studio along with Eduardo “Raxta” Figueroa.
After listening to the band rehearse live, they were immediately invited to make a test recording, and the
results were over satisfactory, this lead to the recording sessions of Delasónica’s first album and the first
launch for the indie label “DAC Musik”.
After a long year of promoting in 2004 with shows in the main cities of Mexico and one West Coast tour in
the USA, Delasónica relocates to Monterrey again at the end of 2005 and now in 2006 to Portland, OR,
where they are following their career and a second North American tour. The rest is writing itself right now...
All 5 members of Delasónica have been in very active bands and, together or separately, they have shared the stage
with famous bands such as Azul Violeta, Zurdok, Panda, Los Yerberos, Los Estrambóticos, La Yaga, Los Burbanks
(Seattle), El Gran Silencio, Disidente, Rostros Ocultos, Panteón Rococó, Belanova, Plástiko, Molotov and El Tri.
Delasónica already possesses an INTERNATIONAL RESUME, having performed in 2004 in the Cinco de Mayo
Festivals in Portland, Oregon, and Grandview, Washington, in the United States.
Also, “Punto y Aparte”, a song from the band, was selected to be the main theme for the mexican film “Magnicidio:
Complot en Lomas Taurinas”.
In 2006, Delasónica is on tour for 2nd. time in North America, now with more dates and cities, because of
the launch of their first album in the whole United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Delasónica is the first rock band launched by DAC Musik
of Colima, MEXICO. DAC Musik is owned by Mike Igartúa and Eduardo Figueroa, who
offered their studio to record and mix the band’s first album when they realized that
Delasónica had a great solid concept - the product of all the years the members have
spent together experimenting with their music.
The recording took place at DAC Center Studio (www.daccenter.
com) during July and August of 2003. It was mixed by Mike Igartúa
and co-produced by Mario Durán and they called upon the expertise of Andrés Mayo of Mr. Master, in Buenos Aires, Argentina,
for the complex process of mastering.
The album titled “Ven a Ver” contains 15 original tracks written by
Delasónica.
In August 2006, “Ven a Ver” is launched in United States, Canada
and Puerto Rico, via Verdad y Justicia and Navarre Corp.
“Dizzying resonance with a taste of Red Hot Chili
Peppers... metal variations... a frankly groovy
ambience. Interestingly, Delasonica sounds tight, and
their sound is well executed.”
-Sergio Briceño, writer (Diario de Colima Newspaper)
“I can’t get Eclipse out of my Winamp; it grabbed me;
it’s very well produced.”
-Miguel Guardado, co-producer Fresco, Telehit
“Impeccably mixed. Fresh and well-produced Rock.”
-Robin Chacón, Hard Rock Live!, México City
“Congratulations! I was very much surprised by the
band.”
-Andrés Mayo from Mr. Master, Argentina
“Funky bass with ripping guitars. Excellent band.”
-Sound:check Magazine, México
“One of the best mexican independent rock bands
ever!.”
-Bandradio.com
“Our representatives in all the Republic.”
-Volcán FM, Colima, Mexico
“Mexican rock is still alive.” “True-blooded alternative band.”
“Members of Delasonica took care to provide a brilliant sound.”
“The entire CD is excellent, and when you find the time to listen to it entirely,
you’ll end up with your own favorite songs.”
“It has its influences, but you don’t necessarily have to fit it into a classic
category of ‘it reminds me of...’.”
“Listeners thank Delasonica for doing things the right way.”
