Blue Daze (Evolvulus)
Evolvulus glomeratus
Evolvulus, or blue daze, is an evergreen subshrub that grows in a low, spreading
mound, up to 2-3 ft. in diameter, but no more than 1 ft. tall. Evolvulus grows well in
full sun in poor sandy soils that are well drained. Evolvulus does best in full sun,
but can tolerate a little shade. It cannot tolerate wet soils at all, and very rainy
periods or overwatering will cause fungus problems and lead to premature death.
Bush Daisy Athena Sun (Euryops)
Euryops pectinatus
Euryops, yellow bush daisy, or African Yellow Daisy is a marvelous addition to any garden that has a welldrained, full sun situation. This is a plant that provides sunny, yellow daisy-like flower color against a mat of
appealing finely cut green foliage all season long. It is a tough plant that survives all but the most extreme
warm weather conditions including moderate drought. Grows 14-18” tall. Not cold hardy.
Celosia Intenz
Celosia argentea
Celosia Intenz will grow to be about 14-18 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 12 inches. Its
foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground. This annual bedding plant should only be grown in
full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any
standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water
garden or xeriscape application.
Cleome Sparkler Series
Cleome hasslerana 'Sparkler
As a hybrid, this Cleome series is genetically more dwarf, resulting in a plant habit about 1/2 to 2/3 the size of
traditional garden cleome. The bushy, well-branched plants grow very uniformly in the garden, thus making it a
great focal point in gardens, or as a landscape planting. If grown in 6" pots or larger, plants can be sold 'in
spike'. Height: 42-48", 24-36" spread. Grow in full sun to partial shade.
