ENGLISH LAUREL, OTTO
'Otto Luyken' is a compact cultivar that grows only 3-4 feet tall and
spreads to 6-8 feet. Over time it can grow 6-10 feet tall. It is freeflowering. Best grown in moist, organically rich, well-drained soils.
Tolerates shade. Good soil drainage is essential. Plants generally prefer
sun in the cooler areas of the growing range and shadier conditions in the
hotter areas of the growing range. Full sun to part shade Zone 6-8
ENGLISH LAUREL, SKIP
Skip Laurel is a dense growing evergreen shrub with lustrous evergreen
foliage and clusters of small white flowers in the spring. It is rated as
one of the cold hardiest of cherry laurels. Skip laurel grows 10 to 12 feet
tall. Good soil drainage and proper air movement are crucial to avoid
outbreaks of potentially serious disease and pest problems. Full sun to
