Ο Issue 2016/03 (March) 6/18 St Joseph’s Private School, Kuching A whole day seminar was organised by the school and facilitated by members of the Empowered Ministry of the cathedral parish of St Joseph’s on media literacy for students of Form One in the school chapel. Below are some of the comments of the students. The Media Literacy Seminar has taught me to respect others. It has also taught me that some movies and music have deeper meanings to it. We are taught how to find out about them. Edwin Bundan (F1C) facilitated by the Empowered Ministry Media Literacy Seminar 7 March 2016 I learnt to be more careful and alert when using the media and I will use it only for good. Benjamin Hii (F1B) I have learnt that not all information online are true. I also learnt how to make a presentation with my friends. I really enjoyed the seminar. Gladys Wong Ling Xuan (F1A) I have learnt about teamwork and obedience. I also learnt about the negative and positive aspects of the social media. Emmanuel John Uzaraga (F1C) It is important to learn media literacy so that we know what is right and what is wrong when one is on the social media. It taught me to be careful when surfing on the internet. Vanya Tan Ying Ying (F1A) Issue 2016/03 (March) 7/18 St Joseph’s Private School, Kuching When a group of people are in the same room, they are usually busy online with their mobile phones while ignoring people who are actually in the room which makes them unfriendly and thoughtless. Peony Poh Shan Rou (F1B) Media Literacy Seminar facilitated by the Empowered Ministry I have learnt that the media has its pros and cons.
