Killer Hayseeds Amped Up Bio
The Killer Hayseeds have been one of the top drawing country bands in the Midwest for over 20 years. The large and
loyal following the band has created is a true testament to their longevity, and their way of connecting with their fans on
and off the stage. The band has endured numerous tragedies over the years, namely founding member Ross Florand
passed away unexpectedly in July, 2009. Then, less than two months later another founding member, Darin Essery fell
from a roof, suffered a severe brain injury and is no longer performing. The band made a few personnel changes over
the years until in late summer 2011, remaining founding member Todd Ernster decided that he was unhappy with the
current line up and the direction of the band. He then set out on a quest to find the finest entertainers and musicians
that would best reflect the high energy, high caliber professional show that made the band not only it's reputation, but
garnered it's large fan base since day one. A grueling audition schedule was set in motion, with players both locally and
nationally expressing interest in performing in The Killer Hayseeds. Although the search was difficult, the selection
process produced one of the finest lineups of young musicians and entertainers ever, averaging under age 30. In
addition, Todd wanted to offer entertainment buyers something else, something more than they were getting for the
entertainment dollar... the Amped Up concept was born! The Killer Hayseeds Amped Up, a high energy spectacle
playing the top current, and most requested country hits packaged into 2-105 minute shows! That's correct, 2 high
energy non stop country shows totaling 210 total minutes of music with only one 30 minute break! The reasoning
behind this concept is simple: Give the entertainment purchaser more for their money, at the same time by only taking
one normal length break, keep the customers and fans dancing and partying until the end
of the night. The two long sets are not only successful, but have been received extremely well by venues as diverse as
fairs, festivals, casinos, nightclubs, and the concert stage! The Killer Hayseeds Amped Up have not only developed a
large and loyal fan base, but have the respect and admiration of managers, agents, entertainment buyers and their
contemporaries. To experience a Killer Hayseeds Amped Up show is something quite incredible. It is more than just a
band performing, more than mere songs being played, but a magical experience of fun, belonging and being part of
something incredible. Everything about the Killer Hayseeds Amped Up is above and beyond, whether it is the way they
conduct their business, the way they feel about their fans or the way that their motto “The Show Must Go On” ringstrue
with every event the band has ever performed. There are exceptions, and exceptions to exceptions, and then there are
the Killer Hayseeds Amped Up, truly a cut above the rest. Their track record speaks for itself, having performed at every
major Midwest Country Music Festival, most major municipal celebrations, countless state and county fairs as well as
inaugurations, Fortune 100 company corporate events and most, if not all, major nightclubs in the Midwest. They have
shared the stage with such legendary national recording artists such as Alabama, The Dirt Band, Restless Heart, Toby
Keith, Marty Stewart, Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, and Alan Jackson, to name a few.
The Killer Hayseeds Amped Up are stronger today than ever, radiating a renewed spirit of performance and
professionalism in 2012 and beyond, the legend continues… In the coming weeks, they will be shooting new photos,
improving and updating press kits, to present a show that is not just playing songs, but captivating and entertaining
audiences everywhere.
