NMA Statement of
The fall season is here and the holidays are nearly
upon us! October was a great month for LDA.
Our October Membership Meeting was one of our
best yet with over 80 attendees, great food and
amazing speakers, including Orange Police Chief
Bob Gustafson who shared some great insights on leadership skills
for up and comers. LDA also hosted its Second Annual Craft Faire
on October 27th which was a big success and resulted in a sizable
donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Orange - just in time for
the holidays! What’s Next? We have a great thanksgiving lunch
planned for our November 18th Lunch Meeting! Rutabegorz is
catering, so the food will be delicious! Orange Fire Chief Jack
Thomas will share his views on leadership and Captain Jeff Burton
of the Orange Police Department will speak on OPD’s new initiative
to address homelessness in Orange. It will be a fun meeting, so don’t
forget to RSVP! Lastly, this is the LAST CALL for nominations for
LDA’s Pathfinder Award, our Annual Leadership Award! Please
take a moment to nominate a colleague who
leads the way for others and deserves to be
recognized. Nominations are due Monday
November 2, so don’t wait! As always, thank
you for supporting LDA… and have a
wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Nominate a coworker for the
Pathfinder Leadership
Award!
A pathfinder can be a person who goes ahead of the
group in search of the best route through uncharted
organizational terrain. Many times, however, a
pathfinder can be an unsung hero or heroine who
leads by example. They are rarely recognized and
their sense of accomplishment is forged through the
respect that is accorded to them by their coworkers. They rarely seek or receive attention.
Congratulations to Rosanne Miller
on her Retirement
In 2012, Rosanne became President of
LDA. She helped to turn the
organization around and reinvigorated
it with purpose and direction during
challenging times.
The City of Orange LDA chapter of
NMA presented Rosanne a Lifetime
Retired Membership Certificate and
bouquet at the October Membership
meeting. Many thanks for her 34 years
of service to the City of Orange.
