Humane Society of Charlotte Prepares for PET PALOOZA, Saturday, April 13th
Organization’s Top Fundraiser Welcomes People & Pets – New This Year – LIVE MUSIC,
DOG CONTESTS, FOOD TRUCKS and BEER GARDEN!
Charlotte, NC – In recognition of the thousands of homeless dogs and cats in
Mecklenburg County, the Humane Society of Charlotte is hosting its largest annual
fundraiser, Pet Palooza, a walk and pet festival to support the organization’s
mission. This year’s event promises something for everyone including:

Police Dog Demonstration
The event will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Independence Park in the Elizabeth
Neighborhood. The 2k Dog Walk, hosted by Maureen O’Boyle, WBTV News Anchor, will start off the event at 10 a.m.
with teams and individuals walking with their furry family members. Newly added events for this year include live
music, with special guests Leo Clay and GogoPilot, a Food Truck “Paw-vilion” with a variety of yummy treats for
everyone and a Beer Garden featuring Birdsong Brewing Company and Triple C Brewing Company. Radio sponsor,
Clear Channel Communications, will also be on site with remotes from 96.9 The Kat, 96.1FM, WRFX 99.7 The Fox,
106.5 the End and 102.9 the Lake.
Registered walkers will receive a FREE souvenir t-shirt and matching dog bandana to wear for the day. Walk-up
registrants will accepted, but are not guaranteed event t-shirts and bandanas. Cost to walk is $35.
