You’ll be picked up at your hotel bright and early
in one of Landsea Tours & Adventures luxury private
charter vehicles for your trip up to Grouse Mountain.
As you travel the 20 minutes up to the base of the
mountain, your driver will offer personal commentary,
introducing you to Vancouver’s history and sightseeing
highlights. You’ll take the scenic SkyRide gondola to
the peak of the mountain before enjoying Breakfast
with the Bears. Grouse Mountain is home to two
orphaned Grizzlies, Grinder and Coola, and you’ll get
to participate in their morning feeding, learn more
about them from their wildlife ranger, before sitting
down to enjoy your own breakfast in the café. When
you’re finished, take in the spectacular views on The
Eye of the Wind tour, taking you up 58 storeys to a
glass viewing pod in the middle of a wind turbine. If
you have time before leaving the mountain, you may
want to relax with a wildlife film being shown at the
Theatre in the Sky.
Take the SkyRide back down to the base of the mountain
and your driver will pick you up. From here, enjoy
the beautiful views of downtown and the water as
you drive to Horseshoe Bay, just northwest of the city.
Here, you’ll enjoy a seafood lunch at the picturesque
Boathouse Restaurant before donning a red survival
suit for your Sewell’s Marina sea safari. Aboard their
high-speed, Zodiac-style vessel, you’ll cruise the
magnificent deep fjords of Howe Sound while learning
about the natural environment and ecosystem of the
area. Howe Sound is rich with wildlife, and on your
tour, you’ll likely spot sea birds, eagles, otters, deer,
and lots of seals. Once you’re back on dry land, it’s
time to be whisked back to downtown via one of
Harbour Air’s floatplanes. Departing Horseshoe Bay,
your “flightseeing” tour will take you high up over
mountains, sea and finally, city skyscrapers before
landing in Coal Harbour.
Tonight enjoy an exclusive taste of the city with an
Edible Canada’s Guest Chef Market Dinner on Granville
Island. Some of Canada’s best chefs come to make
guest appearances in the Edible CanadaBistro
demonstration kitchen and private dining room,
creating multi-course dinners paired with Canadian
beer, wine and spirits right in front of you. After
dinner, you’ll be emailed recipes from the evening –
the ultimate foodie souvenir!
Luxury Escapes in Vancouver: Day Two
After you’ve enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, you’ll once again
be picked up by your Landsea driver for a private transfer
through Stanley Park and over to the Vancouver Aquarium,
one of the world’s leading marine stewardship and ocean
research institutions. Once at the aquarium, enjoy your
prearranged Beluga Encounter – a once-in-a-lifetime chance
to get up close and personal with these friendly whales,
participating in a full training session alongside their
trainers.
After your aquarium visit, you can either take a scenic stroll
along the sea wall to lunch in Coal Harbour, or have your
driver drop you off at Cardero’s Restaurant. Located in a
marina, jutting out over the water, Cardero’s offers an
elegantly casual menu with spectacular views of the water
and mountains, as well as a very popular summer patio.
Take it easy this afternoon, and then indulge in the ultimate
in relaxation – an Asian-inspired spa treatment at Chi, The
Spa at the Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver. Each treatment
suite at Chi offers a “spa within a spa” experience, with its
own fireplace, private bath, changing area and relaxation
lounge. After your treatment, continue the indulgence
down a couple of floors with dinner at the hotel’s restaurant,
MARKET by Jean-Georges. One of the hottest rooms in the
city, MARKET is known for its simple elegance and signature
dishes created by one of the world’s best known chefs.
