SPRAY GUNS FOR GLASS APPLICATIONS
Automatic and Manual Spray Guns for Coating Glass
Using the right equipment for each step of any spray finishing process is
the key to hitting quality, productivity and profitability targets. The ever
increasing diversity of finishes dictates careful selection and proper use of
all spray equipment. With hundreds of collective years of leadership in the
spray finishing business, DeVilbiss, Ransburg, and Binks continue to set the
equipment standards. We are dedicated to supporting your glass finishing
operations with our team of experts.
MAG II and Compact Automatic X on a rotary flat line
LOW AND MEDIUM PRESSURE AUTOMATIC GUNS
COMPACT AUTOMATIC I
§Wide range of Air Caps
§Removable Stainless Steel spray head
for fast and easy maintenance
§Fluid adjusting knob for precise fluid
control
§Use with waterborne and solvent
based materials
§Independent fan and atomizing air
§Easy changeover from nonrecirculation to recirculation
COMPACT AUTOMATIC X
The Compact Automatic Guns are perfect for applying
decorative materials to glass. This spray gun is ideal for low
and medium viscosity materials and low abrasion ceramic
enamels. The Compact Automatic Spray Guns have a wide
variety of air caps available. Caps with large patterns are
used to spray high volume coatings on plate glass. In these
applications transfer efficiency can be increased by up
to 100% vs. a dip method. The Compact Automatic Spray
Guns are also available with small precise air caps that can
spray delicate items such as liquor containers and perfume
bottles. The Compact Automatic guns can be stationary or
mounted to flat lines, rotary machines, reciprocators, or
robots.
§All the features of the Compact
Automatic I, with the convenience of
a quick disconnect manifold.
MODEL 21
AUTOMATIC SPRAY GUN
§Performs under the most extreme
conditions
§Fan control at the gun head is perfect
for rotary, reciprocating and spindle
machines.
§Tungsten carbide set-ups increase
wear life
§One piece body insures triggering is
quick, precise and dependable
MODEL 460
MINI-AUTOMATIC SPRAY GUN
§Small and lightweight
§Precision finishing of small parts
§Stainless steel fluid nozzle
§Adjustable stainless steel needle
valve
The Model 21 Automatic Spray Gun is a heavy duty,
pneumatically operated, automatic spray gun with a forged
brass body. The rugged construction and available tungsten
carbide needles and nozzles are perfect for Diatomaceous
Earth (DE) or other slip agent applications. The Model 21
is also perfect for applying ceramic frits and is compatible
with waterbased materials. The single piece body insures
that the needle is always in perfect alignment and the
material shut off is quick and accurate. The Model 21 spray
gun features a one way valve that allows air to escape, so
the piston can move quickly, but eliminates material from
penetrating the gun to cause premature wear. The Model
21 has an optional mounting bracket that will shorten set
up and maintenance time. It is also available with a full line
of Binks Extensions that allow the spray gun to be mounted
outside of the application area.
The Model 460 Mini-Automatic Gun is a small spray gun for
precision finishing. The spray gun features dual air controls
for independent adjustments of atomization and fan size.
It is also suitable for remote operation. This spray gun is
often used when applying conductive coatings to glass.
Examples include: Display Windows, LCD Fabrication,
Heaters, Touch Panels, Heads-Up Displays. Shielding for
Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) & Radio-Frequency
Interference (RFI) or permanent anti-static (ESD), and
Instrument Display Windows.

HIGH PRESSURE AUTOMATIC GUNS
MAG II AUTOMATIC AIR ASSIST AIRLESS SPRAY GUNS
§Use with a wide variety of coatings
including UV
§Ideally suited for multi-gun finishing
equipment
§Manifold mount for quick
maintenance
§Provides high transfer efficiency
HVLP spray
The MAG II Automatic Air Assist Airless Spray Gun
functions at higher pressures, up to 4000 psi. The MAG II
is usually mounted on automatic spray machines and is
used for large production runs. Typical applications are on
rotary machines for large, flat, and architectural glass. The
combination of a cat’s eye orifice, high fluid pressures, and
HVLP air assist provide small fluid particles for a fine finish.
This gun requires a high pressure fluid delivery source.
AEROBELL 33
The Aerobell 33 is another applicator that can be used
to apply Diatomaceous Earth (DE). This is a rotary style
applicator that works by using centrifugal force to break
apart the material. When used with DE, the Aerobell 33 must
be used non-electrostatically. It is used with the plastic bell
cup to decrease wear from the DE and to withstand the
citric acids used in the process. The rotary action of the
Aerobell 33 provides a smooth, even application of DE.
ROTARY ATOMIZATION
ROTARY ATOMIZER
§Shaping air provides optimal spray
pattern control
§High transfer efficiency and coverage
§Flexible and easy to use
§Works with 100% solids coatings
HAND GUNS
COMPACT SPRAY GUN
COMPACT MINI SPRAY GUN
2100 SPRAY GUN
AA1600M SPRAY GUN
Various hand guns are available for use with smaller
parts, short runs, or samples and trial runs. Hand guns
save material when the run is small. There is less clean
up and flushing. The hand guns can be fed with various
fluid delivery methods including gravity, siphon, and
pressure feeds. The hand guns function similarly to their
counterparts on the automatic side. They are available with
various air caps for different atomization and pattern needs.
The Compact is available with all of the same air caps and
fluid nozzles as the Compact Automatic Spray Guns and will
product identical spray characteristics. The Compact MINI
has a smaller front end for recesses and very small areas.
The 2100 spray gun is available with tungsten carbide fluid
nozzles and needles for abrasive materials. The AA1600M
spray gun features the same air cap and fluid tip as the
MAG II and can operate at pressures up to 1600 psi.
