Update on 3D printing!

Our First Annual Founders Day
We established May 6, 2015 as ClearVision’s first
annual Founder’s Day in honor of our inspiring
founder, Fred Friedfeld, whose birthday was May 6.
Fred had a lifelong reputation for personal service;
his strong character and sincere caring for others
helped him build relationships with people all over
the world. Our first Founder’s Day was celebrated by
reflecting on ‘What Would Fred Do,’ remembering his
contributions to the company and industry. We also
planted a beautiful garden in his memory.
In 2013, ClearVision began using
3D printing in our design and
prototyping processes. Since
then, we’ve fully embraced this
rapidly evolving technology
and expanded our 3D printing
capabilities. 3D printing now
plays a pivotal role in our
overall design and production
philosophy and has significantly
improved our efficiency.

This summer marks the
introduction of IZOD ProFlex
for men! Making its debut with

both metal and plastic frames

ULTEM™, an ultra lightweight
thermoplastic material often used
in aerospace, transportation,

Aspire Eyewear is a colorfully captivating collection
that offers a “barely there” feel and fit, while including

adjustability. It is created with SDN-4, a specially
designed nylon material proprietary to the brand.
Designed for the manufacture of extremely lightweight
eyewear with exceptional thinness, the hypoallergenic
SDN-4 material is incredibly strong, offering shape
memory, heat resistance, and will not fade in UV
exposure.
Using customized SDN-4 sheet material, Aspire frames
are not injected, but created with Computer Numerical
Control (CNC) machinery to produce unique shapes
and endless color possibilities.
The entire Aspire collection was designed using
3D technology, significantly reducing prototype
development from 20 weeks to 60 minutes in most
cases. Using this innovative technology in its design
process allows the brand to quickly respond to
emerging eyewear and experiment with inventive
design options.
