•
Are we running out of energy supply?
•
How are we effecting the environment?
•
Can we afford increased energy prices?

What creates the conditions?
High comfort + good air quality = high energy use
High comfort + good air quality
= low energy use
Occupancy level
The presence, or rather absence gives
conditions for DCV
11
Energy is in the air!
Where is the energy saved?
• Less electricity to the fans
• Less heating energy required for preheating of supply air
• Lower supply air temperature
• Lower demands when absence in room

Energy is in the air!
What is a zone?
•A zone is a part of a system, it can vary
from being several zones from a shaft /
floor level …
•…to that the unit functions as a zone
damper. In decentralised ventilation
(many smaller air handling units instead
of one large one) you can in most cases
consider each system to be one zone in
your calculation.

GOLD AHU
• Plug n’ Play with Super WISE
• Pressure controlled flow
• Constant supply air

• Outdoor air temperature
compensation
• Summer night cooling
• X-Zone
38
Energy is in the air!
Super WISE – main functions
Super WISE is a communication
device that talks via Modbus RTU
to Swegon AHU GOLD and with all
Swegon underlying products
included in the WISE system
Super WISE has three main functions:
39
•
Pressure Optimization of AHU
•
Gateway towards BMS
•
Web page for supervising the
system
Energy is in the air!
Pressure optimisation of the AHU
•Super WISE knows each zone damper
position and optimize the AHU pressure so
that at least always one zone damper is fully
open.
•This reduces energy use for the unit with up
to 25% and contributes to a more quite
system.
40
Energy is in the air!
Gateway towards external BMS
A ventilation system designed to
Super WISE handles the protocols
communicate with Super WISE needs Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and BACnet
to be connected and addressed
TCP
(Modbus ID) according to Swegon
instructions.
Then all products included, will
automatically be presented in Super
WISE in a logical tree structure.
The structure is also reflected as a
"flat" structure for the external BMS
company to communicate with.
41
Energy is in the air!
Web page for supervising the system
Super WISE also includes a web
page that presents the complete
underlying ventilation system in a
concise and easy and understandable
way.
Zone and room images is presenting
read and writable values (set points)
Editable parameters for each room
and zone products are easily
accessible in the web structure .
42
Energy is in the air!
Why demand controlled ventilation?
Energy performance directive, energy declaration of buildings
EPBD
LEED
BREEAM
BBR (Swedish directive)
Saving energy
Saving the environment
Saving money
Without compromising on
indoor climate and air quality
43
Energy is in the air!
Arguments for Demand controlled ventilation
 Rules and Regulations
 Less electricity to fans
 Less thermal energy to heat the outdoor air
 Lower supply air temperature
 Lower climate demands when absence
 Free cooling
 Smaller AHU (simultaneity factor)
 Less environmental impact
 Individual room control
 Flexibility
 The future!

Energy is in the air!
So,don't forget to
switch off the
