It has an optimal design for business aviation and provides an attractive base for both professional and hobby pilots. In the aircraft category up to 12 tons MTOM, Schönhagen is also the most important relief airfield for the capital city airport, Berlin Brandenburg International (BER) Königs Wusterhausen A 10 B 96B 96 B2B2 A 15 A 13 BERLIN Potsdam BERLIN Teltow B 96B 96Teltow B 96aMahlow Mahlow B 96a Mahlow B 96a BL 140L 40 Stahnsdorf BabelsBabelsBabelsBlankenBlankenKönigs Königs bergberg Großbeeren BlankenbergGroßbeeren A 115 A 115 felde A 113 felde A 115 felde A 113Wusterhausen Wusterhausen A 113 Michendorf Michendorf CottbusA 9 A 9 A 15A 15 Halle A 38Leipzig Leipzig Potsdam Potsdam A 10 A 10A 10 Neuruppin Aviation at the gates of Berlin – at the heart of Europe: Its attractive location at the center of the high growth economic area south of Berlin between Potsdam and the “Schönefelder Kreuz” represents an added stimulus for Schönhagen airport. Teltow-Fläming district, the principal shareholder in the airport corporation, has achieved the highest rate of economic growth in East Germany several times in recent years. And the outlook for the future remains bright thanks to the construction of the major BER international airport. General aviation supports more than 100,000 different point-to-point connections across Europe. In contrast, there are only 5,000 regular, daily airline connections. Entrepreneurs and executives are increasingly turning to individual flight schedules which perfectly match their calendars and individual needs. In this way they can travel particularly flexibly and save valuable time that would otherwise be spent in an airport lounge, at the check-in counter or with lengthy security control checks. At Schönhagen Airport business travelers find the best possible conditions for business charters or stationing their own airplanes and helicopters. Aircraft, crew and passengers are cared for individually at Schönhagen: a range of services is provided for pilots and planes that includes various parking facilities and everything from border clearance and customs processing to tax-free fuel sales. Optimum commercial transportation connections, conference rooms reservable at short notice, catering and accommodation make Schönhagen Airport very attractive as a departure/arrival point for business travelers. The decisive argument for “private air travel” is the individual service on the ground. Schönhagen offers both business travelers and pilots a comprehensive service portfolio. A pilot lounge area with shower and TV and a flight planning room with the latest map material, Internet access to MET and AIS, fax and telephone facilitate pilot preparations for the next flight. Of course, free WLAN access is available in the terminal. Maximum mobility is guaranteed by the flexible shuttle service – on request also directly from the aircraft to business appointments, the reserved hotel or to one of the many tourist attractions in the area. Rental cars are provided through AVIS car rentals, which can also be booked one way. Furthermore, it goes without saying that hotel reservations, transportation arrangements and the coordination of catering are all included in our services. The comfortable lounge, conference room and bistro inside the terminal leave nothing to be desired – and even if they do then simply talk to us about it! SPACE FOR PASSIONATE FLYERS … Every flight is a unique and special experience: The breathtaking views of the cloud formations, the many lakes in the Brandenburg region as well as the bird’s eye view of Berlin and Potsdam are unforgettable memories. Whether a frequent flyer or just trying us out – enjoy the magic of flying at Schönhagen Airport. Schönhagen is an attractive base for both professional and hobby aviators and provides a broad range of services. For the stationing of private aircraft there are two different types of hangar as well as parking facilities available at the resident companies and clubs: Hangar O is 128 x 25 m large and holds around 48 aircraft. Hangars I, X, and V with eight electrically operated turntables provide space for approximately 56 aircraft, with hangar V also able to accommodate larger aircraft in a separate hangar segment with a gate height of 5.5 m. Overall, there are around 170 aircraft permanently stationed at Schönhagen Airport. There is also adequate parking space with rigging facilities on the apron. On top of this, private pilots can also use the complete range of services: • Pilot lounge • Flight planning room • Terminal with free WLAN access • Shuttle service • Car and bicycle rentals • Transportation arrangements • Catering facilities • Accommodation at the guest house or local hotels Schönhagen Airport has much to offer for tourists: Whether glider flights, balloon rides, helicopter tours or trial flights – at Schönhagen everyone has the opportunity to take to the air in their own preferred manner. Experienced flight instructors and consultants are pleased to answer all questions and ensure that all guests set their feet back firmly on the ground. For those wishing to take the control stick into their own hands, six local flying schools and three flying clubs offer suitable training programs. And those preferring to remain on the ground can watch the planes during take-off and landing while enjoying one of the coffee specialties or a refreshing drink on the lookout platform of Tower Restaurant Cockpit. Nestled in the Nuthe-Nieplitz nature park and in close proximity to southwest Berlin, Wannsee, the Grunewald and Potsdam, the “city of palaces”, Schönhagen Airport is also the ideal point of departure for nature and cultural excursions. Overnight accommodation is available at our guest house as well as at several nearby hotels. QUICKLY HERE AND QUICKLY IN THE AIR Whether by car or public transportation – you can reach your destination quickly and comfortably from Schönhagen Airport. For example, Potsdam is about 25 minutes away. You can be at the exhibition grounds at Radio Tower Berlin or shopping on the Kurfürstendamm in 35 minutes and downtown Berlin is only about 45 minutes away.
