Our female athletes missed the prior week due to the holiday and snow days but came back ready to work and it was good to see some of the Field Hockey girls get a jump start on their off-season program. On Saturday some of the baseball team attended the 2nd annual KORT / Norton’s Throwing Clinic and had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Ryan Krupp M.D., one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the area on arm care and former MLB pitcher Chad Reineke on throwing mechanics and the importance of proper arm care and development. Our baseball players then went through a three-part evaluation by the KORT staff and given corrective exercises in areas that were identified during the screening. We had two athletes that had the best scores of the day in two of the screenings. Matt Derridinger set the record of 34 total touches in the closed chain upper stability test and Greg Lile had zero errors in the seated stability test. We were very proud of all of our baseball players that were evaluated and the hard work they have been putting in really showed.
