Tennis
Sarah Grodzinski brings many years of playing and coaching experience to the Derry Township tennis facility. A 2010 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, she mostly played #1 singles and doubles for the team. In 2009 she helped lead the team to a
conference championship and NCAA appearance. She still holds program records for singles and career wins and was voted
Female Athlete of The Year at Lebanon Valley in 2010. She has a USPTR certification and has been giving private and group
lessons for eight years. She is currently the Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach at Lebanon Valley College and a current 4.5
USTA league member. Sarah has a MFA from Chatham University in Pittsburgh and is an Adjunct English Instructor at
Lebanon Valley College.
PEE WEE TENNIS
The Pee Wee/Quick Start program is for younger kids ages 5-9
that want to begin playing tennis but have no prior experience.
This session will introduce fun games for the kids and mostly
focuses on basic hand-eye coordination, racquet skills and the
fundamental strokes and movement skills.
BEGINNER TENNIS
The Beginner program is for kids
ages 8-14 that have very little
tennis experience but do not
want to start at the quick start
level. This is for kids with basic
coordination that have been
athletically involved in other
group sports, but are new to
tennis. This clinic focuses on
basic strokes, coordination,
agility, racquet-handling skills.
INTERMEDIATE
The Intermediate program is for
students mostly in middle or high
school that play in USTA tournaments
and want to develop their game. This
will help students develop their
mental aspect of the game and teach
them to hit each shot with a purpose,
rather than just getting the ball back.
This program will also focus on shot
selection, placement and grips at a
more advanced level.
