Teacher of the Month
Mrs. Megan Sanders
1. What do you feel is the most rewarding part of teaching? Why?
-Probably the fact that I’m helping prepare my students for their futures and to be able to play a small
part in their lives.
2. How do you hope your students will remember you?
-I hope they remember me as someone who took time to not only teach them but also get to know
them; someone they felt they could come to for any situation.
3. What are the two most important qualities that a good teacher should possess? Why?
1. Approachability: I want my students to feel they can ask me anything, whether they
need help on an assignment or they need clarification on something they didn’t understand. I don’t
want a student to not learn something because they felt they couldn't ask me.
2. Patience: We have a lot to deal with each day and every student deserves our attention and respect. On the crazy, busy days, it takes patience to juggle it all.
4. What is a favorite experience from your teaching career?
-I don’t know if I have just one, but rather anytime I see that my students really “got” something and
could take something away from my class.
5. What characteristics do you think a good student should have? Why?
-I think an important one is a willingness to try. Even if you aren’t sure about something, be willing to
at least attempt it.
6. What do you like most about teaching at JHS?
-I love the small size and the fact that I know all of my students. I also love the support that our teachers give each other.
