FREE DIY Project Crafted SPACES ™ TEACUP PINCUSHION by Yvette-Michelle Cottle Darby www.crafted-spaces.blogspot.com Crafted SPACES -‐2-‐ ™ by Yvette-Michelle Cottle Darby DIY Project: Teacup Pincushion A pincushion is a handy thing for any sewer. They can come in many forms, but why not have fun and save an old teacup from the landfill. This simple project is easy and fun to create and will make a great gift too. You will need a teacup or other small container, fabric, felt (optional), stuffing, needle, thread, scissors, hot glue gun and glue stick. You can also add a flower, ribbon, braiding or other embellishments to your project. The circle template can also be adjusted depending on the size of your container. Instructions: 1. Cut your fabric using circle template as guide 2. Using needle and thread pass a running stitch approximately ½” from the edge all around the circle 3. Pulling thread form into a bowl shape and fill with stuffing 4. Pull thread tightly into centre and stitch in place 5. Place additional stuffing into teacup to desired height 6. Place glue around the edge and some at the base of stuffed fabric 7. Set in teacup and press down in place 8. Embellish as desired Step 2 Enjoy!
