One of the easiest exercises for overall health is walking. All you need is a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothing. Start out slowly, with short, five- to 10-minute walks every day for a week. As it gets easier, add five minutes to your routine each week until you are walking for 30 to 60 minutes most days of the week. To prevent injuries, warm up by walking in place, then stretch your muscles both before and after walking. Be sure to drink plenty of water. The hardest part of a fitness program is sticking with it. To stay motivated, make it fun. Walk with a friend, vary your route, or listen to music. Arizona has plenty of hiking trails for any fitness level. So step out there and walk your way to a fitter you! Glendale Glitter & Glow Block Party G low, baby, glow!
