Hello, Campers and Parents!
We are preparing to bring you the best summer camp in town and we hope
you’ll join us and tell your friends.
Each summer, St. Andrew’s faculty, upper school students and recent graduates come together to create a day camp that’s equal parts learning, exploring,
inventing, playing, laughing, tasting and having fun.
All are welcome — you don’t have to be a St. Andrew’s student to attend summer camps. All camps are taught by St. Andrew’s faculty and are way more than
just day care. We take all kids in kindergarten and older on weekly field trips. We
keep the whole kid active — mind and body. They should come home each day
tired, happy and ready to do it all again the next day.
This year, Kindercamp is open to rising PK4, K, and 1st graders, and Adventure
Camp is open to rising 2nd through 6th graders. All camps will take place in the
lower school main building.
As always, our professional coaching staff also offers many athletic camps at the
north campus, and we have a variety of academic and specialty camps from the
Reading Clinic to Video Game Creation.
We offer half day options and a shuttle bus between our north and south
campuses at noon. There are many options and configurations - we’re flexible
and can find a plan that works for your family.

THE 2016 SAINTS SUMMER EXPERIENCE
DAY CAMP WEEKLY THEMES
WEEK 1: OUR COMMUNITY (June 6 – 10)
Join us as we learn about the corner of the world we call home. We’ll learn
all about Mississippi and Jackson, study our storied past and exciting future,
and meet important members of our community —
nurses, doctors, firefighters, police officers and more!
WEEK 2: AROUND THE WORLD (June 13 – 17)
Bring your passport as we journey to a different exciting country each day this
week. We’ll learn all about our friends in different parts of the world - the sports
they play, the food they eat, the houses they live in, and what they do for fun.
WEEK 3: ANIMALS ARE AWESOME! (June 20 – 24)
Come and learn about all our animal friends! We will study tiny insects and
enormous elephants. We’ll learn about each other’s pets, help out a local animal
shelter, and everyone K and older will finish the week with a trip to the zoo.
WEEK 4: ALL ABOUT THE USA! (June 27 – July 1)
Learn all about our great country! We’ll have a patriotic parade around campus,
learn about people throughout history who’ve made America what it is today,
and we might even hold an election for Camp President!
WEEK 5: GET SPORTY! (July 5* – July 8)
This fun filled week will be all about sports and games. We will learn about
everything from golf to Quidditch. Come have a ball with us!

WEEK 6: FANTASY LAND (July 11 – 15)
Let your imagination take you on a magical trip to a fantasy land.
Learn about mystical creatures and myths from long ago, fairy tales, and science
fiction. We’ll play games, eat silly foods, and dress up as our favorite characters.
WEEK 7: ART EXPLOSION! (July 18 – 22)
Watch out! We’re making art all week and it’s going to be a rocking good time.
We’ll learn about all kinds of art and will make some of our own.
WEEK 8: SUPER SCIENCE (July 25 – 29)
Explore the oceans. Travel through space. Conduct some wacky
experiments and get your work published in Scientific Camper.
Bring your thinking cap and get ready to experiment!

DAY CAMPS
Eight Weeks of Excitement!
Each summer, we commit to providing every camper the best, safest possible day camp
experience. From our programming to our policies, everything is planned with the camper in mind.
COST – $225.00 per week
To reserve spot, a $50 non-refundable deposit
per camp week must be paid online. Balance
of $175 per camp session is due by first day of
camp week.
DAY CAMP – REGULAR HOURS
8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Drop off starts at 7:30 a.m.
Afternoon carpool is 2:45 to 3:00 p.m.
AFTER CAMP CARE – $50.00 per week
2:45 – 5:45 p.m.
EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT
Register online ON OR BEFORE April 4, 2016,
and save $25.00 per week of camp.
LATE PICKUP – $50.00 (payable upon pickup)
SIBLING DISCOUNT
Third and fourth siblings are eligible to receive
a 10% discount on regular camp tuition.
DROP-INS (regular day camp or after camp care)
Four hours or less – $30 per day (payable that day)
Over four hours – $60 per day (payable that day)
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
WALK-UP REGISTRATION
Parents are strongly encouraged to register their camper(s) well in advance so that we have the best
staff-to-camper ratio, but we understand that for reasons unforeseen, you may need to register at the
last minute. If you find yourself in this situation, you can enroll online until 8:00 a.m. (or in person until
9:30 a.m.) on the first day of any camp session with space remaining.
If you show up in person, please bring payment with you.
HALF DAY CAMPERS
We welcome half day campers! Morning half day is 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Afternoon half day is 12:00
p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Morning half day kids need to be picked up before lunch – no later than 11:30 a.m. –
so they don’t get mixed up in lunchtime. Afternoon half day kids who have already eaten lunch can
arrive any time after 12:00 p.m.
REGISTRATION CHANGES
If you wish to modify or cancel your registration, or apply for a credit toward another week of camp,
please email Jay Losset at lossetj@gosaints.org, or call 601-487-2748.
The following policies and timeline apply:
30 days or more before start of session: 100% refund, minus the $50 deposit, or full credit toward
another camp session. 15 – 29 days before start of session: 50% refund, minus the $50 deposit, or full
credit toward another camp session. 14 days or fewer before start of session: no refund. We will be happy
to give you credit toward another camp session. Once a session begins, adjustments cannot be made.
CAMPER FORMS AND PAPERWORK
All campers must complete the necessary camp forms in order to participate in the Saints Summer
Experience. These forms can be submitted electronically via the Parent Dashboard on Campsite.

St. Andrew’s offers a wide range of Academic camps to help keep your kid’s mind sharp
over the summer months.
The Reading Clinic
Rising first through fourth grade students
A multi-sensory structured intervention for
dyslexia and reading difficulties for campers.
Alphabetic Phonics is a system developed at
the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and
is an extension of the Orton-Gillingham-Childs
approach to remedial language training. The
Reading Clinic teachers are certified as Alphabetic Phonics Therapists by the Payne Center
in Oklahoma. They have a combined total of
over 50 years teaching in the classroom.

St. Andrew’s Summer Sports Camps are a great way to improve your game and discover new
sports to love. All camps are led by our professional coaching staff. We offer the widest variety
of sports camps in the metro area. All sports camps take place at our Ridgeland campus.

Girls Basketball Camp
Rising second through ninth grades
Come spend four fun-filled days with Coach
King and the varsity girls’ basketball team.
Learn the fundamentals of the game of
basketball. In addition we will play games
and have opportunities to win trophies. Each
participant will receive a t-shirt for attending.
Boys Middle School Lacrosse
Rising fifth through eighth grades
Come familiarize yourself with the fastest growing sport in the country, lacrosse! The focus of
this camp will be on introducing players to the
basics of lacrosse, from throwing and catching
to defensive fundamentals. Participants only
need a lacrosse stick – no other equipment is
required.

All Sports Camp for Girls
Rising first through sixth grades
Kids will get a “kick” out of this fun-filled
camp designed to ignite a passion for sports.
Creative games, competitions and challenging skill-building activities will captivate and
enlighten children as they work on improving
their skills in a wide range of sports. Activities
will be modified to satisfy the needs and abilities of all campers. All campers will participate
in a variety of sports such as volleyball, soccer,
running and basketball.
Archery Camp I
Rising fourth through sixth grades
This camp will help the budding archer sharpen their bow skills. New archers will learn the
proper technique to shoot a bow and arrow,
including the proper stature, the correct way
to hold a bow and the proper way to release
an arrow. Being a successful archer requires
the proper technique and we help the young
archer develop their technique. We will provide all the equipment needed.

All Sports Camp for Boys
Rising first through seventh grade boys
Boys will be led in a variety of sports by members of St. Andrew’s Coaching Staff and upper school athletes. Campers will be grouped
by age to compete in the following sports:
basketball, baseball, dodgeball, kickball, soccer, frisbee golf, volleyball, hand tennis/wall
ball and various tag games. The camp will
utilize most of the St. Andrew’s Athletic Facilities on the North Campus. Campers will need
to wear comfortable tennis shoes and athletic clothing. Bring lunch and a water bottle.
Water will be provided by the staff. Be sure to
sign up for a week of FUN!
Tennis Camp - Beginner and Intermediate
Rising kindergarten through fifth grades
This camp offers tennis instruction for beginner and intermediate level students. Campers
will learn the proper technique of basic tennis
strokes and improve their hand-eye coordination skills. Led by Coach Emillia Viljoen, this is
sure to be a week of fun for all.

Little Saints Spirit Camp
Rising kindergarten through third grades
This camp offers girls an opportunity to find
out what it is like to be a cheerleader or
dancer. With instruction from the St. Andrew’s
varsity cheerleaders and dancers, we will learn
cheers, dances, chants, fun cheer songs, and
a short dance routine. All participants will
receive a spirit t-shirt. Participants will perform
during a St. Andrew’s varsity football game
during Lower School Spirit Night. This camp
is a blast!

Track and Field
Rising third through seventh grades
Students will get a chance to see what Track
and Field has to offer. Running, jumping
hurdles, throwing — there’s something for
everyone in Track and Field. We will start each
day with warm up and stretching. Students
interested in distance running (half-mile and
mile) will work with a distance coach. All junior
athletes will have the chance to learn specialty
events such as the high hump, long jump,
triple jump, shot put and discus. A modified
hurdle will be used to train with hurdles. We
will even have relay races. Come out and join
the fun of Track and Field. All participants
should wear sunscreen, and bring a water
bottle, hat and a snack.

Typing at the Speed of Thought
Rising fifth through eighth grades
Join us for a keyboarding short course
designed to help students with proper
keyboarding skills to help them become
more proficient in using QWERTY keyboards.
Middle School teacher Jan Michael will
introduce you to the home keys, proper hand
position, alternate keystrokes and some common keyboard shortcuts, all while encouraging
students to develop speed and accuracy in
keyboarding. Each week-long session is a
standalone class. Register for more than
one session, if desired.
Chess Camp
For ages 6 – 16
USA Chess is the largest and premier chess

Manners Matter
Rising PK4 through third grades
A class designed to encourage and emphasize good manners in today’s busy society.
We have new material for students who have
previously attended. Some topics include
respect, responsibility, posture, personal
hygiene, giving and receiving complements,
manners for all social occasions with special
emphasis on table manners, meeting and
greeting, healthy eating choices, handling
difficult situations, and more. The class concludes with dinner at Amerigo in Ridgeland
on Wednesday night.

Your camper can join us for regular day camp as early as 7:30 a.m. We will get them to and from their
Academic and Specialty camps on the South Campus. Regular camp ends at 2:45 p.m. For an additional
$50, they can stay in After Camp Care until 5:45 p.m.
If they have morning camps on the North Campus, they can ride the shuttle bus at noon to the South
campus and finish their day having a blast in regular camp which ends at 2:45 p.m. For an additional
$50, they can stay in After Camp Care until 5:45 p.m.
Kids with afternoon camps at the North Campus can join us at the South Campus as early as 7:30 a.m.
for a morning of regular day camp and then ride the shuttle bus to the North Campus at noon.

The Nutcracker Ballet Camp
Rising PK4 through second grades
This fall, boys and girls enrolled in ballet
classes offered through St. Andrew’s Enrichment Program will present a shortened version
of The Nutcracker. Performances are Thursday,
November 10, for Lower School students, and
Saturday, November 12, for family and friends.
During this summer course, students will begin
rehearsing dances for the November performance. Students entering PK4 and kindergarten will rehearse the part of the cooks who
prepare sweets in The Land of the Sweets.
Students entering first and second grades
will be mice and soldiers in the battle scene.

and crafting key elements from the popular
Minecraft game.

“Pas de Quatre” and the Romantic Ballets
Rising third through twelfth grades, with prior
ballet experience
Students will study the Romantic style of ballet in class, in rehearsals of “Pas de Quatre,”

period of ballet will be included with rehearsals for a November performance of a shortened version of The Nutcracker, to take place
