The 65 398 is purring like a little tiger. Now on to about a 100 other things. Wanted to thank Dave again with help on our Dec. mail out Christmas postcard. He did a good job. Think the move to Great Bend started some New Pontiac Excitement, sure wish Cap was here to share in it, miss you buddy!! From me sending out a few club membership requests. To picking up a new Platinum Uprising sponsor. Ben's Machine in Hays Ks. Know I have heard one club member say he is the best engine builder in Ks. Always be sure to tell one of our Uprising sponsor “thanks” when you use them!!!! Remember club dues are due at the first of the year. At the Jan. meeting I plan on making a motion to reduce them to $25 from the $35 they are at right now. I did this last year and didn't get it passed but haven't given up yet. So going to try again. Our membership as been down the last few years and I think this would help. Club elections this month also. See you at the meeting. Les JANUARY MEETING! Saturday, January 16th. at the Scotch & Sirloin 5325 E Kellogg Dr ive Room "behind the bar" – open bar at 5:45, Dinner at 6:30 from the Menu, ordered individually, paid for individually. "Purely Pontiacs and Purely Exciting" Race & Show Hosted by the Wichita Pontiac Club - October 2, 3 & 4, 2015 "A great day at the race track!", was the statement many racers made this year. The weather was good and the competition was better. There were over 100 cars participating in the 26th Annual Pontiac Uprising held at Kansas International Dragway. The show cars had a prime location for their show line, right behind the race track bleachers. We had an opportunity to see several Pontiacs that were new to the event and many old classics that only get out on show day. The Friday evening gathering was a combination of a technical session with Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick and, guest speaker, Tim Dye, of Pontiac Oakland Museum. Tim started the event with a very informative presentation on the founding of the Pontiac-Oakland Museum ( and resource center). He had a vision of such a place and worked hard to make it all come together in Pontiac Illinois. His talk was very down to earth and entertaining for the entire group. As usual, Arnie fielded questions about his career and years of Pontiac racing. He has been amazingly successful in keeping the legend alive. He is a great ambassador for the sport beyond words. He still enjoys that 200-mile-an-hour rush. The company at the tech session was great and the food was outstanding. On Saturday, Arnie brought out his "Tameless Tiger" pro mod race car and didn't disappoint us with an outstanding 1/8 mile performance. He also brought his sidekick from Illinois, John Holmes, with Arnie's old funny car. In the nostalgic past, it was referred to as the "Star-of-the-Circuit", when he competed in the late 60's. John ran several 1/8 mile passes and the crowd loved his performance. These two guys really know how to wow a crowd, meet-and-greet the people, and put on a show. We had a special award at the car show this year. It was in honor on one of our former members, Cap Proffitt. Cap and his wife, Robin, were very active members for several years and were a great asset to our club. This was the first year for this memorial award and the recipient was Adam Womack with his GTO. The Greater Wichita Pontiac Club would like to thank all of our sponsors and participating club members who made this event a success. We're already working on Pontiac Uprising #27 and it promises to be even bigger and better. Stay tuned for the big announcement on this event. It will be "Pure Pontiac ExciteTHANK YOU MIKE COOPER FOR A ment". FANTASTIC ARTICLE! LOOK WHAT YOU COULD GET BACK IN THE GOOD OLE DAYS!!! 1963 LEMANS The car is being sold rolling (NO Engine).
