Civil Engineer, WASH Manager
IRD is looking for a Civil Engineering, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for one of its projects in Zambezia Province,
to implement a multisector project funding by USAID/Mozambique. The WASH Manager will supervise local-hire staff and
manage partnerships with local NGO's and Community Based-organizations related to water, sanitation and hygiene. Ensure
effective implementation through regular inspections at provincial level and in coordination with local authorities, create partnerships with local government as well as other NGO, ensure that all rules and regulations of USAID and IRD policies and
other procedures are complied with in the program implementation.
The position requires frequent field visits within the province and liaison with local authorities.
Required Skills
*BS. Engineering at the minimum and preferably with a master's degree in civil or water
Required Experience
1. Five years experience in design, planning and execution of works of infrastructure schemes;
2. At least 3 years experience in managing an engineering/construction team and/or contractors;
3. Solid knowledge about participatory approaches in community using the PHAST and CLTS.
4. Experience working for humanitarian/development organizations in emergency, reconstruction or post-conflict situations;
5. Excellent English and Portuguese oral and written communications skills interested applicants should send their detailed
