•IOM Helsinki advised Social Office on travel document acquisition
•Return with IOM escort from IOM Bucharest
• Escort met with returnee the day before the travel
•Handover to ANTIP on arrival and onward transportation to final destination by IOM
Update 2012: After the return, the returnee apparently left Romania again and
travelled to Italy

•Slovakian female in in Sweden, two minor children

•Return of mother covered by IOM Bratislava return programme, but children not eligible
•Social Office in Sweden agreed to pay travel of children + two escorts from the Social Office
•IOM Helsinki made travel arrangements for all persons to Vienna
•Family picked up in Vienna by IOM Bratislava, transportation to Slovakia
•Provision of shelter, social counselling and mediation, career counselling, contact with social
office and school in area of residence
•Some material (food) and financial help
Update 2012: Mother and children are still provided assistance under the IOM
Bratislava assistance programme, including shelter.

•Not identified as VoT but considered vulnerable and in need of support
•Next steps:
• Faciliate direct contact between returnee and IOM Kampala/speaker of the
returnee’s mother tongue (build trust, get relevant information)
• Identify support needs in Uganda
• Identify possible support provided from Sweden
• Assist with travel, including travel document acquisition
Update 2012: Case still open / might pursue options for staying in Sweden
