An Evening With Kailash and Annika Williams
Saturday July 12, 6:00-8:30pm, $36
Join us for a 150-minute Spiritual and Transformational Journey...
This special event combines three distinct, yet mutually reinforcing, Yogas (“methods for
achieving Union”): Asana (Posture), Nada (Sound), and Bhakti (Devotion). During the first
half of our time together, participants are welcome to join Annika Williams in guided Asana
practice (or to simply relax) while Kailash chants sacred Sanskrit mantras in the background. In
the second half, Kailash will lead us in kirtan--call & response style chanting--as well as offering
inspiring instruction and storytelling to enrich the devotional experience.
About Devotional Chanting:
Devotional Chanting is all about
using one’s own voice--and indeed,
the whole of one’s embodied
being--to cultivate and sustain
the highest quality of mental
and emotion experience available to
human beings. When we repeat the
mantras (“mind-protectors”), we’re
pronouncing the very Sound Forms
of Perfection--we’re making the
Supreme, the Best we can imagine,
present in the form of our own voices.
In so doing, we exchange our ordinary,
troubled minds and hearts for
something higher, more refined, and
infinitely more vast. The effects over
time include greater peace of mind
and emotional fulfillment, a reduction
in the unhealthy self-concern that
causes us so much suffering, and Following Sound into Silence:
direct knowledge of the Divine.

Chanting with Kailash... Kailash (so

heart, speech and song that equip
the practitioner for success in
the search for happiness. For

psychology (as Kurt A. Bruder, Ph.D., M.Ed.) and an
earnest student of spirituality, Kailash presents a unique
blend of wisdom and inspiration useful to those on any path to
the Supreme. (www.omkailash.com)
The flow with the Kirtan - Asana
and Nada Yoga with Annika...
Annika was introduced to Hatha
Yoga while studying English
Literature and Dance at the
University of Oregon. Her
spiritual journey brought this
Singer, Writer, Dancer, and Artist
of the Performing and Visual Arts,
to find in Yoga a beautiful union
of it all, and a path to spiritual and
physical harmony. Annika’s style is
a Vinyasa Flow practice of Hatha
Yoga incorporating Anusara
Inspiration and dance influences grown from Iyengar and
Ashtanga roots. Her classes unfold into a choreography
of creative and strategic sequencing that opens the body,
breath, and spirit. The practice builds gracefully into an
invigorating crescendo of fun, flowing Sun Salutation
variations and Vinyasa sequencing to strengthen, stretch,
and purifying the body. She chooses poses that open
us from one to the next, preparing us to safely experience
new depths and freedoms in the body while seamless
transitions inspire the bliss of graceful movement.
Attention to mindfulness
and alignment offers a safe
and liberating practice,
bringing her students to
the healing, therapeutic
freedom in the poses, so
that we learn to soar in
the lightness of finding our
center. Annika’s classes
reflect and encourage
the balance of softness
and strength, will and
surrender, the vigorous
yet graceful dance with the breath that is Yoga, and life,
transcending us beyond body and mind to a place of inner
harmony, Self awareness, and Spiritual alignment.
