GO ONLINE - Databases
• EBSCOhost, Emerald, JSTOR, SciVerse Science Direct, Springer
Link, ACM Digital Library, Wiley Online Library, Oxford Journals, Web
of Knowledge
- include full text versions of books, monographs, articles, summaries
from peer-reviewed scientific journals, bibliographic annotations, conference proceedings, case studies, financial datasheets, investment, industry and
market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT.
• Passport GMID - online business information system providing statistics, market reports, company profiles, business intelligence about
country economies, consumers and industries.
• CEIC - macroeconomic, industry, and financial time-series databases
for global emerging and developed markets (contains data from IMF).
• OECD iLibrary - contains all the publications and datasets released by
OECD.
• EMIS Emerging Markets Information Services - includes full-text
news articles, financial statements, company information, industry
analyses, macroeconomic statistics, and information about markets and
enterprises.
• Bankscope* - a comprehensive, global database of banks’ financial
statements, ratings and intelligence.
• Amadeus* - a database of comparable financial information for public and private companies across Europe.

• eLibrary, the World Bank - collection of nearly 6,000 books, reports,
journals, and working papers.
Especially, do not hesitate to ask for help in the Information Services Department, Main Reading Room or European Reading Room.
• Statistical Yearbook of the Republic of Poland by Central Statistical Office - available through EMIS database.
• Special collections
European Documentation Centre, archives World Bank (till 2008) and
International Monetary Fund (till March 2011), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Off-campus access
Students enrolled at the library have automatically set a remote access to
most of the subscribed databases outside the University campus. The only
condition is not to have overdue books and unpaid library fines.
HOME LOAN SERVICE - Books
• Borrowing entitlements: 9 books for 30 days
• According to Online catalogue there are books with various locations
that are free to borrow:
- these that are shelved in the Local Loans Department: [exception: ‘Loan
Archival Item’] - open shelves; borrowing at the Library counter or via selfcheck device,
- those that are housed in the Stacks Room – items of ‘Available status’ to
be ordered online; renewals and reservations accepted online, borrowing at
the Library counter.
All borrowers must present a valid Library Card to check out materials.
W HAT ’ S FO R YO U IN P L ACE ?
• Reading rooms, where you can make use of library books and periodicals collections, as well as take time on internet, digital resources or on
your own materials.
Books and periodicals in print that are stored in reading rooms are for reference purposes only.
Shelf arrangement of books:
- Index UDC [Universal Decimal Classification] in the Local Loans Department and every reading room except for the
European Reading Room. Find the catalogue entry for the item you want
and note the UDC classmark, which is given on the ‘full record’ screen. In the
Local Loans books in English are shelved at the end of each UDC classmark.
- Index EUSC [EU Subject Classification] in the European Reading Room.
• Help and support
The library staff is always eager to advise you on data for your research,
education and development.
• Laptop-friendly learning environment
In order to apply for the wireless Internet access, please ask for WiFi User
Card in any reading room. Remember that you need to enroll at the library
first. You can submit up to two MAC addresses only.

• Copying services
Data can be stored on a private USB flash drive or sent via e-mail free of
charge. Self-service photocopiers are available in all departments.
The Permanent Library Card which serves also as a debit card may be charged with credits (in hall on the 2nd and 3rd floor) maximum of 100 impulses
(100 pages) for a fee of 20 PLN.
Printers and scanners are available in all departments (0,20 PLN x A4 print,
scanning for free).

before entering any of our departments].

How to register?
In the Local Loans Department (1st floor, 102) after submitting:
1. a valid Student’s ID Card [Legitymacja studencka],
2. a voucher proving registration fee payment [10 PLN].
The payment may be made directly into the University Bank Account or via
Deposit Cash Machine:
