Club Jackets For Sale
We still have some of the club jackets which are black in color with white stripes on the bottom and
a detachable hood in assorted sizes at $40.00 and they do run a little small so you need to order a larger
size than you usually wear. We also have a new style jacket which is black with blue lettering and
graphics. These jackets run pretty true to size. The M, L, and X-Large sizes are $42.00, the XX-Large
size is $45.00 and the XXX-Large size is $48.00. You can come out and try one on for size to see
what fits. Call Sharen @ 708-301-8899 to buy one. Our jacket stock is running out so get your jacket
now.
LCCC Sweatshirts for Sale
The Lemont Classic Car Club also has some royal blue sweatshirt jackets with a hood and a
full zipper up the front for sale. We currently only have a few of these jackets left in size X-large but
we can order more if our members want them. If you wish to place an order for a sweatshirt in your
size call and when we get enough people to sign up we will reorder. The price is $22.00. Call

The plaque attaches to you back license plate or bumper and is approximately 5" X 9" in size. They are made of
Cast Aluminum and can be painted to match your car. The price is $18.00 . We ordered 60 Drag Plaques and
we only have 3 remaining. If you wish to purchase one please do it quickly because when they are gone they
are gone. We will not be ordering any more. The Lemont Classic Car Club paid the $100.00 set up fee and the

Cruise Nights running smooth. We have positions open for: set up and tear down, working the registration
desk, parking lot pick up, helping to park the vehicles both show cars and spectators cars, collecting the $1.00
on our Donate-A-Dollar nights (only 2 are scheduled), and 50/50 on nights when Bob and Carol will not be in
attendance to name a few. If you could volunteer for one or more nights it would be greatly appreciated. These
are not difficult jobs however they are necessary to keep our Cruise nights going. Please find some time to
volunteer you services and get involved in your car club!!! Please let Sharen know when you are available to
work by calling 708-301-8899 or signing up the week before you are planning to help. Thank You!

Welcome to the Lemont Classic Car Club!! We are glad that you joined us and hope you will come
out to our club events!
Spring Outing to Pete Todo’s Museum
On Saturday, April 16th, The Lemont Classic Car Club ventured out to Hobart, Indiana to visit Pete
Todo’s private museum. If you have not been with us when we visited this museum before you missed a great
afternoon. Pete has everything from a Duesenberg and motor cycles to a collection of neon clocks and much,
much more. Pete is such a gracious host!! He is there to answer questions and tell us of his adventures at many
auctions for cars as well as collectable memorabilia. This was the second time we have visited Pete’s and I’m
sure we will be going back again probably next spring. When we go back be sure you sign up for this event,
you won’t be sorry.

First Sunday Night Cruise Well Attended
On Sunday, May 15th , we held our first Sunday Night Cruise at the “Big R” from 4 to 7 PM.
Approximately 81 vehicles came out in the chilly May weather. We hosted 6 Sunday Cruise Nights to start the
2016 season and then we moved to Saturday Nights from 5 to 8 PM our usual scheduled time on July 2nd.
Attendance was very good for our Sunday nights considering how many people said that Sunday was their
family day and how they spent time visiting relatives. On Saturday, July 9th at 5:30 PM, we will be hosting our
first Donate-A-Dollar night with Jim Nesci and his Cold Blooded Creatures coming out to give a seminar to all
of our cruisers. Jim is always informative with his talks about his critters. On Saturday, August 27th at 6:00
PM, John Basile from Big Run Wolf Ranch will be at our cruise night for the second Donate-A-Dollar night
with his wolves, coyote, Winston the woodchuck, his skunk and who knows what other surprises John might
have up his sleeve. So come out and join in the fun It’s only $1.00 per vehicle.
Past Activities for the Month of June
On Saturday, June 11th, we were invited to come out to Peace Memorial Village for a small car show for
their residents. We had approximately 20 vehicles come out and enjoy the day. The grills were going and hot
dogs were being served as we listened to music from a DJ. The people from Peace Memorial appreciated us
coming out so much that they donated $200.00 to us for our “Little Cruisers” Christmas Party. Thank you so
much Peace Memorial Village for the donation and Thank You everyone for coming out to this event.
On Saturday, June 4th, we were invited to come out to the Grand Re-Opening of the Jewel/Osco store at
131 and LaGrange Road in Palos Park. The DRIVE radio station was also there. This Jewel has presented us
with gift certificates for our Charity Car Shows for the last 2 years. We always need to give back to the people
st
that take care of us. Thank you to everyone that came out to this event on such short notice.

Page 8
On Saturday, June 25th, we attended the Homer Township Independence Day Parade. We reached
another record this year with 16 vehicles in the parade line-up. We really appreciate everyone giving up their
morning to join in this event. We always have a good time at the parade. This year it was a little warm but all
of our vehicles made it through the parade route without any trouble. Thanks everyone for coming out. Hope
to see you all again next year and maybe a few more people will get involved so we can set a new record.
On Saturday, June 18th, we were again invited to The Pointe At Kilpatrick, in Crestwood. We have
been coming here for about 6 years and the residents always enjoy viewing our cars. We had a wonderful
lunch with Pulled Pork and Beef sandwiches, french fries, onion rings, cold slaw and ice cream and the
entertainment was the Traverso Singers whom we have seen in the past. This is always a special day full of
fun. A special Thank You to everyone that attended this event.
Cars Of The Month
We have already chosen two cars of the month for this 2016 Car Cruise season. Our first car of the
month was chosen by the Assistant Manager of the Big R on May 28th, and was a white 1961 Chevy Impala.
The proud owners are Glenda and Ed Anderson. Our second car of the month is a candy apple red 1966 Chevy
Chevelle owned by Glenn DeMumbrum. Both vehicles were truly worthy of our Car Of The Month title.
Thank you for bringing these beautiful vehicles out to our cruise nights.
Continued on page 10.

Our Trip To Smith Crossing
We have been invited to Smith Crossing Retirement Village on Saturday, July 16th, from 11 to 2 PM.
They are only asking us to bring out 10 to 12 vehicles for their residents to view. Free lunch will be served and
they will probably have sone entertainment too. This is a really short morning show and you will be home in
time for the Saturday Night Car Cruise. Smith Crossing is at 10501 Emilie Lane, Orland Park, Il 60467.
Please call Sharen @ 708-301-8899 and sign up and make it a great day for the Seniors at Smith Crossing
Retirement Center. Thanks.
Charity Car Show for our “Little Cruisers”
Please don’t forget that on Saturday, August 6th, from 4 to 8 PM is our Charity Car Show to support the
“Little Cruisers” Christmas party in December. This car show and our weekly 50/50 are the only ways that we
have to raise funds for our club charities. The registration fee is $20.00 and the first 150 vehicles will receive a
T-Shirt and a medallion. We will also be having a special 50/50 with many larger raffle prizes and more. We
are hoping that the DRIV Radio Station will be attending again with special hand outs. The rain date will be
the following Saturday, Aug 13th, same time , same place. Please come out and support your car club and it’s
charities. We always have a great time.
