Miami County
Educational
Service Center
Established in 1914 as a county office and fully
developed into an educational service center in
1995, the Miami County Educational Service
Center (MCESC) has offered decades of
services to school districts.
Located in Troy, Ohio, MCESC is one of the
largest educational service centers in Ohio and
currently serves all public and non-public schools
in the county. This includes 2 city schools (Troy
and Piqua), 4 exempted village schools (Tipp
City, Covington, Bradford and Milton-Union), 3
local schools (Miami East, Bethel and Newton),
and 2 non-public schools (Troy St. Patrick and
Piqua Catholic).
The ESC also works cooperatively with Miami
County Children’s Services, Miami Valley
SERRC and Upper Valley JVS.
By establishing a county educational consortium,
MCESC is able to provide Miami County with
classrooms for the severe emotionally disturbed,
multiple disabilities, preschool and classrooms
for developmentally handicapped and learning
disabled students.
