rejuvenation plan for interior spaces.

main entryway, which was broken up
during the fuel oil crisis of 2007 and
which will be repaired this summer.

Late last summer the Lord showed he trusted us enough to
present us with a challenge of epic proportions. During a daring,
but for them routine tree trimming exercise on the cliff at the
water Bob Beaubien and Joe Brough discovered the strong smell
of oil. It was leaking from underneath our church from an old
fuel oil tank left under our main entrance since the late seventies.
Ever the faithful family of God leaders emerged to guide the
clean-up process, while suggestions by some in outside groups to
sneakily hide the discovery were summarily dismissed. In the
midst of this, you great parishioners of Saint James’ Episcopal
Church threw in your full financial support that we might do
Right by God, Right by the law, and Right by our Hearts, which
said, “Make this land clean.”

We read in Isaiah 35:1,2 about a sign by the Lord of his
Grace and Love, his mercy and lovingkindness: “The desert and
the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and
blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice
greatly and shout for joy!”
It seems that the fill dirt used to replace the contaminated soil
was full of bulbs! From now until the end of time that land that
was once wounded will burst into bloom – here at Saint James’.
