ISSUE 9, Volume 29 September 2011 EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION MS Shining Stars: MONTHLY EMPLOYEE NEWSLETTER OF MEDICAL SERVICES BILLING AND RECIVEABLES MANAGEMENT SERVICE ORGANIZATION GLOBAL BILLING MSNews Making Positive Choices From the Desk of Dallas S. Bunton, Sr. IFCCE, MCE; Chairman & CEO NACS and Medical Services of Chattanooga Country singer George Jones Stephanie Hatmaker MS AHS/CBO, Employee of the Month Karen Carroll MS BT, Employee of the Month for years has battled with the problem of too much drinking and driving drunk. One day he was excited about his grandchild‟s birthday party. He was ready to go, been waiting all week and with gifts loaded up he was about on his way. One big problem … he was also loaded up with alcohol. Well just as so many times before, he slid behind the wheel and started down the road to the party. Well, he did not make it that day. He was pulled over and taken to jail instead. George Jones penned a song while in jail that is still being played, even today; “My life is the consequence of the choices I have made”. Wow, what a statement and what a powerful realization this late in his life. Recently, I was given a small book to read and I am just about part way through it. It is about choices big and small. It highlights the impact of these choices on life, for myself and those around me today and down the road. Such as one example: of a young married couple deciding to have their first child. Thinking it thru and considering the sleepless nights, pampers, baby food, less alone time (almost no alone time), getting up and down at night, ear aches, tummy aches and tooth aches all come along with the decision about this bundle of thrills and joy! This process may even cause some couples to postpone the decision to a later date. Have you stopped and taken time to think about your decisions? How do you start your day? Are you positive with the dawning of a new day or are you bringing yesterdays negative problems into the new day? I have personally never met any person that has been able to go back and change one mark of the previous day. There are no “do over‟s”, just memories and maybe some scars. So the next time you are about to make a decision think about the possible consequences for you and those around you. Short term and long term and even more... filter them through prayer and maybe the decision and possibly the outcome will have a positive result. Maybe if we were to pen our own song regarding our life, it might bring a smile to our face and those we love the most; because we made more positive choices then bad ones. Looking forward to a bright and productive September! And hope to make solid and positive decisions. Trivia Oh, Them Bones... — Submitted Tanya Bunton, MS BT National Division General Manager and BT Executive Assistant Besides allowing you to stand upright, your bones manufacture blood cells and store minerals. The longest and strongest bone in your body is the femur, or thighbone. The strongest bone in your face is the mandible, or jaw bone. The smallest bones are in your ear the malleus, incus, and stapes (also known as the hammer, anvil, and stirrup, respectively.) Babies are born with 300 bones. But by adulthood, we have an average of only 206 because some of the bones fuse together as we grow. More than half the bones in your body are found in your hands and feet each of your hands has 27 separate bones, 26 in each foot. It normally takes between six and eight weeks for a broken bone to heal.
