Semester One Student Achievement Reports
Pyjama Day Fundraiser
Tomorrow you will receive your child’s Semester One
Achievement Report. This report will outline the overall
achievement for each subject area as well as learning goals
identified by the class teacher. The teachers and students
have worked hard this year and this is evidenced by the
improvement of student learning across the many
learning domains. I congratulate the children on their
continued dedication to their learning and hope that their
achievements are celebrated with their family.
Next Thursday 27th of June is Pyjama Day. The
purpose of this day is to raise money for the
Dominican Orphanage in East Timor. Our Year 6
leaders will be organising a cake stall and a
guessing competition so monies raised will be
sent directly to the orphanage to help with the
basic necessities of food, clothes and shelter for
the many children living in the care of the Dominican Sisters. I
sincerely thank the Year 6 leaders and teachers for their initiative
in raising money and for their caring attitude toward the plight of
these innocent children.
Parent /Teacher Interviews
Parent teacher interviews will commence on Monday the
24th of July. This week you would have received a letter
from your child’s teacher confirming the time. This meeting is a time for the teachers and parents to share the successes and challenges and by working together with the
student, plan achievable learning goals for the rest of the
year. I encourage parents who have not yet returned the
note to do so as soon as possible.
A3 Chior
Our A3 choir has been rehearsing tirelessly
for the end of year spectacular. The
children are very excited as the many song
and dance numbers are now taking shape. I
wish to sincerely thank Mrs Plummer for her
passion and dedication in coordinating this
extra curricular event and especially in encouraging the
students who display a natural flair in this area to
participate. I look forward to cheering and supporting
our students on the night in September.

Spell-a-thon Fundraiser
On the 25th of July Sacred Heart will participate in a
Spell-a-thon fundraiser. Sponsorship cards will be sent
home next Thursday for children to start collecting
sponsors over the holiday break. Our goal for this year is
to purchase a class set of iPads and a charging station.
This technology, will be used by all the students to enhance and support the good learning already occurring in
each class. Children who raise over $50 in sponsorship will
enter a draw to win an iPod and a $30 itunes card.
Further details will be sent home on Thursday with the
sponsorship card.
SPORT NEWS
Soccer
Stage 2 (Year 4) boys and girls have been training in
preparation for their Gala Days being held next Tuesday and
Wednesday at Rooty Hill. Miss Harb will supervise the boys on
Tuesday and Miss Godwin will take care of the girls on Wednesday. Good luck to the students and thank you to the parents that
support and help make these days successful.
Special thanks to the high school ex-students who have offered
to be our referees for the days.
Netball
Stage 3 girls have been training on Friday afternoons at Ted
Burge Sports ground for the Netball Gala Day being held on
Tuesday 23rd July at Kellyville. We appreciate that we are able to
train on these courts and thank Wenty Waratahs Netball Club for
their support. Thank you to Monica Zeait and
Jasmine-Rose Nohra, ex students, who have been training the
girls and to the parents for their continued encouragement.
Cross Country
Congratulations to Ella Tauroa and Daniel Cooper on their
achievements at the NSW CPS last Friday. Both students
successfully completed the 3km run.
LIBRARY
All students need to return their library books to school by next
Tuesday before the school holidays.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
Congratulations to the 30 students who have
already completed the reading challenge. The
school holidays are an excellent time for the
children to do some extra reading.
Please be aware of the rule that only 2 books from a series can
be added to a child’s reading log.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion
