What has resurrected, or gone from bad to good, in your life over the past year? For Adults: In what way have you risen from “deadness” in your life? Liturgy of the Word Today’s scriptures each tell the story of the Resurrection from a different perspective. Saint Peter in the reading from the Acts of the Apostles tells us how the Resurrection inspired the early Church, and Saint Paul offers his recommendations for how to respond to the Resurrection in our own lives. Our Gospel simply relates the story of the empty tomb and leaves each of us with a question to ponder: What does it mean to you that Christ is risen from the dead? YOUTH MINISTRY All Catholic youth ages 12 – 18 (Jr. High through High School), are invited to join us every Sunday evening in the parish hall at 6:00-8:00pm for bible study, faith formation, social activities, community service, fun and fellowship. FOOD DRIVE FOR ANDERSON COTTONWOOD CHRISTIAN ASSISTANCE The monthly food drive for Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance will feature a specific food item(s) each month for donations. All items can be brought to the church and placed in the wood box in the foyer. April: Canned Vegetables CALLING YOUTH TO MISSION: EQUIPPING YOUNG DISCIPLES The Center for Ministry Development invites you to join us for our 2016 workshop on “Calling Youth to Mission – Equipping Young Disciples” happening on Saturday April 16, from 8:30am to 3pm at St. Joseph Parish, Elk Grove. This workshop, designed for all parish leaders whose ministries touch the lives of adolescents, including pastors, deacons, pastoral associates, coordinators of youth ministry, leaders in faith formation and catechists, Confirmation preparation leaders, and service/social concerns leaders, to help answer Pope Francis’ call to form your young people as missionary disciples in the world. The cost is $54.00, which includes lunch, handouts, and other materials. Please join us for interactive learning, conversation, prayer and discovery around forming our young people as missionary disciples. Would you like to have your marriage blessed (convalidated) in the Catholic Church? Sacred Heart Parish can facilitate ceremonies in our Church to convalidate non-Catholic marriages. The Catholic Sacrament of Matrimony is necessary to validly receive the Eucharist or any other Catholic sacraments. You are eligible to have your marriage blessed in the church if you are married now and have no previous marriages. Some paperwork and a small amount of preparation is required. We would also like to help couples who have previous marriages to obtain an annulment and be married in the Catholic Church. Please call the parish office to make an appointment with Father Wells, 365-8573. CAMP PENDOLA – FIRST TIME CAMPER! New in 2016 we are offering three First Time Camper sessions aimed at those children who are entering grades 14 in the fall.
