Przewodnik Katolicki
Przewodnik Katolicki www.community-democracies.org Background Przewodnik Katolicki is an information portal based on “Przewodnik Katolicki” – the oldest weekly socio-religious magazine in Poland. Goals Predictes’s goal was to create an information portal with strong social media elements, based on “Przewodnik Katolicki” – the oldest weekly socio-religious magazine in Poland. The website is part of a complex implementation for the Święty Wojciech publishing house which includes: Two e-commerce sites integrated with Comarch ERP XL. Five websites for magazines aimed at different target groups. The full project was implemented using one Kentico 8.1 EMS license. Industry Religion Challenges Partner Predictes Sp. z o. o. Śmigielska 13 Poznań 60-102 Poland Challenges in the website structure included: Two different types of article categories. A content division organized by geographic region. Content management optimization. Sales challenges included: Magazine websites needed to increase magazine subscription sales. The websites needed to encourage users to buy content (meaning access to articles) by using a paywall system. Magazine websites needed to increase e-commerce sales. An advanced data import presented a challenge as it included mapping categories and article authors. The numbers were significant for the whole project and for Przewodnik Katolicki alone they were: 40,000 individual articles. 92 different categories needing to be mapped. 1700 article authors required mapping as well. Building user engagement (through a comments system amongst other methods) was necessary. Gathering complex information about users from 10 different websites using a single Kentico 8.1 EMS license (for up to 10 websites) was the final challenge this project faced. +48 508 510 792 www.predictes.com Solution Predictes created a dedicated module to import content from Przewodnik Katolicki’s existing website. Documents were transferred and their original structure was maintained, meaning that manual work for Przewodnik Katolicki (working to make order in the documents) was greatly minimized (at an estimated time savings of 1000 hours). Sale of products promoted on “Przewodnik Katolicki” now take place via the Kentico E-commerce solution (order data goes to Comarch ERP). Fully-personalized workflows for articles with automatic publication (users have access to full articles unblocked after certain number of days following publication) were implemented. Integration with Przewodnik Katolicki’s e-commerce website now includes accounts, contacts, and products. The products are displayed dependening on user activities while using Przewodnik Katolicki’s website. Users are now closer to article authors – short profiles of authors exist, “comments from the editor” are available, and the possibility for users to comment articles also now exists. A global banner system (one for all five websites and two e-commerce systems). Because of the increased demand for computing power, Predictes decided to use Microsoft Azure for this project. Results Since implementation, the site has seen regular increases in the number of site visits (the latest data shows 150,000 unique visitors per month). There is now widespread interaction between the site and users (social media elements, comments). The website’s structure and information architecture were improved, providing a better user experience. Support for e-commerce sales – the magazine’s websites now produce sales which are 20% stronger than estimated. Kentico editors have reduced time required to manage the website content by about 30%. Advanced migration of all data (all five magazines websites): Almost 60,000 articles. 2,500 different article authors. 33,000 unique images. 24,000 different users. About 1,100 magazine editions. Content mapping included: Categories (resulting in improved website structure). Article authors. A complex but coherent set of websites support each other (image, sale, and SEO) and have a synergistic effect. Key criteria for selecting Kentico Predictes has been a Kentico partner for many years, so the choice was obvious. Kentico has a market-leading price to value ratio, and overcomes the disadvantages of open source and dedicated solutions. Implementation of a Kentico EMS server license is a unique solution for our Predictes’s clients and provides functionality that has so far only been available only to large enterprises. Kentico is all-in-one solution which supports web content management, e-commerce, online marketing, personalization, and marketing automation. It’s easier to use to manage complex systems than integrate many small solutions for each purpose. Kentico fully supports Microsoft Azure deployment. That cloud service allows delivery of extra experience to visitors since nobody wants to wait for a slow-loading website. Integration with external systems as simple as 1, 2, 3 because of Kentico’s open APIs and integration bus.
