Senior Resources are Only a Phone Call or Mouse Click Away! As people age, it can be tricky to navigate the wide variety of questions and concerns that go hand-inhand with the aging process. Senior citizens and their loved ones have many resources available to assist them with day-to-day life all the way from the national level to right here at home. Naperville is a community that warmly embraces seniors and “baby boomers” and wants to help connect them to information about these available services. The City of Naperville and Naperville Park District have joined together to provide seniors with a convenient way to access this information. The City of Naperville recently launched a comprehensive webpage at www.naperville.il.us/ seniorservices.aspx that provides relevant phone numbers, webpages and descriptions of services offered to seniors by category. Where appropriate, the pages guide a visitor to the appropriate provider of the service, be it the City, township, county or state. Categories include: • care options • education • elder rights • emergency preparedness • employment • financial assistance and taxes • food assistance • general information • health benefits • household maintenance assistance • housing • legal assistance • life safety • recreation • transportation • utility assistance • veterans assistance • volunteerism Along with the webpage, the Naperville Park District will have volunteers and staff available to help seniors navigate the website or provide resource contact information. For assistance, or if you have any suggestions or feedback regarding additional services to be listed on the webpage, please call (630) 848-3613 or stop by the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center at 305 W. Jackson Ave. GENERAL INFORMATION Ecumenical Adult Care of Naperville Ecumenical Adult Care, located in the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, offers a full day of activities for older adults in need of companionship or who are at risk when left home alone.
