One day he took a strange piece of wood and made a marvellous puppet that called Pinocchio. 2 GEPPETTO HAD A DREAM That night Geppetto saw a bright star. So he expressed a desire: ”I would like a real child, not a puppet”. 3 THE BLUE FAIRY In the room, while Geppetto was sleeping, a beautiful Blue Fairy appeared. She said: “You are so good, Geppetto, and I want to realize your desire”. Because of the intervention of the Blue Fairy, the puppet moved the eyes, smiled, spoke and walked. 4 THE SPEAKING CRICKET The Blue Fairy reminded Pinocchio: “You are made of wood. If you want to become a real child, you have to show a great and generous heart.” So, turning to the Cricket that was in the room, the Fairy said: ”You will always follow Pinocchio. You will be his conscience, the voice to separate the good from evil”. 5 PINOCCHIO WENT TO SCHOOL The following morning, Geppetto said to Pinocchio to go to school, as all the good children. So the poor man sold his jacket and bought a spelling book for Pinocchio. 6 PINOCCHIO WENT TO THE THEATRE INSTEAD OF THE SCHOOL On the road, Pinocchio heard a music…and what did the rascal do? He sold his book and bought the ticket to go to the theatre. The Cricket’s advices were useless. 7 PINOCCHIO MET FIRE EATER In the theatre Pinocchio danced with all the other puppets and so Fire Eater, the puppeteer, wanted to hold Pinocchio with himself forever. But Pinocchio told him his history and Fire Eater was moved to pity. He gave to Pinocchio five gold coins. 8 PINOCCHIO MET THE CAT AND THE FOX Returning home, Pinocchio met two scoundrels, the Cat and the Fox, that promised him to multiply his coins. Pinocchio didn’t listen to the Cricket’s advices. So the credulous puppet followed them and planted the coins at the Great Oak’s feet. 9 GEPPETTO WAS DISHEARTENED Meanwhile Geppetto was very sad because he didn’t see Pinocchio to come back. He looked for him everywhere and, at the end, he decided to search him in the sea. 10 PINOCCHIO WAS HANGED The next day Pinocchio realized he lost his coins and that the Fox and the Cat swindled him. Pinocchio threatened to report them to the carabineers and the two scoundrels hung him on the Great Oak. 11 THE BLUE FAIRY SAVED PINOCCHIO When the Blue Fairy saw Pinocchio who was dying, she took care of him and made him recover. Then she asked him about his events. Pinocchio started to say lies and his nose lengthened. He was scared and cried a lot and, at the end, told the truth. So the Blue Fairy disappeared. 12 PINOCCHIO MET LUCIGNOLO AND WENT TO THE LAND OF TOYS Returning home, Pinocchio met a scoundrel boy, Lucignolo, and with him, departed for the Land of Toys. 13 PINOCCHIO BECAME A DONKEY In that country, after so many carousals, Pinocchio and Lucignolo became two donkeys. Pinocchio ended to work in a circus, he became lame and was thrown into the sea. 14 PINOCCHIO ENDED INTO THE MOUTH OF A SHARK Returned a puppet, Pinocchio swam for a long time. He got very tired, so he ended into the mouth of a big shark, with so many fishes. 15 PINOCCHIO MET HIS FATHER What exciting surprise attended him… In the stomach of the shark, Pinocchio found his dear dad, Geppetto.
