Director’s Report FREEDOM FLYER FOR DECEMBER 2010 Q U A I D H A R L E Y - D A V I D S O N 2 5 1 6 0 R E D L A N D S B L V D L O M A L I N D A , C A 9 2 3 5 4 From The Director Well another month has passed. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday. The dam ride was a whole lot of fun. We started off with 24 bikes and great weather. We rode Nipton Rd and took the back road in to Boulder City to have lunch at Casa Flores restaurant and the whole group was 86’d from the restaurant. I guess the owner of the restaurant woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day - he just did not like bikers so instead we all got on our bikes and road to the dam…now that was a lot of fun. We got some good pictures. After our trip to the dam we all went over to the hotel and had dinner. The next morning we saddled up and for a nice ride home. If you didn’t make the trip this time, maybe you can join us the next time we have an overnighter. One last thing - don’t forget to sign up for the Transition Dinner. Thanks Let all ride and have fun Scott Jones Christmas is 26 days away. Do not forget those less fortunate than ourselves. Toy runs and charity benefits are upon us. Please remember to give. Support our troops, police officers, and firefighters as well. They will celebrate the holidays doing their jobs to keep us safe. Nov 2010 Well the Ride to the Hover Damn was just Great. We had some SB HOG members and a few NEW SBHOG Members and a few friends from other groups. Some of The Crew and The Black Sheep. Lets see if I can get them all…. Juanita and Leroy Slater, Scott Jones, Don & Margie Ramai, Rodger McEwen, Dr.John Boyce, Bully, Pappy &Patty, Jake & Rita, Richard & Pauline Fernandez, Yvonne Hernandez, Steve Geist, Ralph & Louise Correnti, Michael Elmassian, Brenda & Bill Bowen,, Ken Rich, Anna Chavez, Carleen Cuevas, Richard Bush, Paul & Jackie, Jan & Carla Buchar, And the Lower Desert Group, Karen & Gary Westfall, Debra Hankins, Beverly & Ken Conrad, Jan & Jeff Jackson from Utah and Pam & Steve were at the Hotel when we arrive along with Rick & Molly Anderson. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. We had 23 Bikes at Baker gas stop. We took the Cima Road cut off to Searchlight Nv. That is a nice little road. Then on in to Boulder Nv., what neat little town it was. I haven’t been there since my wild days…. NO NOT NOW, I meant my Teenage Wild Days. That Group sure was a great bunch of riders, but in true Biker fashion, we got kicked out of the Lunch Stop. Yes we all have A Really Great Story, I am going to leave that to Scott or Rodger to tell…. But it was Funny!!!! You know after the Restaurant thing, a few of us went to the Hotel, cause we needed to eat, but most of the group went to the Damn. There are lots of pictures; I will try to get a few in this article. ,It was breath taking, or so I was told. I never made it to the Damn… Darn it. You see on the way in just around Searchlight, my stomach got real queeze. And I was hoping a good lunch would settle it down, but then after the Las Flores incident, I went to the buffet at the hotel, but the food didn’t help, I was sick, so I spent the rest of the evening I was in bed in the room. But I heard that Scott, Dr.John and Jackie all won in the Casino…. Good for them. And a bunch of the group went to the Movie Theater in the Hotel, and saw the movie Red… they said it was really good. HOG ACTIVITIES From Your Activities Chairman: HI HOG MEMBERS. I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GOOD THANKSGIVING. I DONT HAVE MUCH TO REPORT. I WANT TO THANK ALL THE MEMBERS FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME. PAPPY The Ride Home was Beautiful, there is nothing as peaceful as just riding along the open HWY…. But I don’t have to tell you that,,,,, do I!!! Well; see Ya all at the Toy Runs…Cindy Gano, Acting LOH Page 4 FREEDOM FLYER FOR DECEMBER 2010 CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP Safety Comes First On Every Ride ENROLLMENT FORM AND RELEASE CHAPTER NAME SAN BERNARDINO CHAPTER HARLEY OWNERS GROUP #0300 MEMBER NAME _____________________________________Birthdate: Mo_____Day (optional) ADDRESS_____________________________________________________________________ CITY____________________________STATE____________ZIP________________________ PHONE__________________________________FAX_________________________________ NATIONAL H.O.G. Pam was walking in the 3Day Walk for Breast Cancer in San Diego again this year. It was a cold and wet weekend as you all know. She and her team walked all 60 miles in 3 Days to find a cure to breast cancer. We wish we could have been her to ride with our chapter too. See you at the next meeting, Steve W. Walker Blood Drive Chairman The Treasure Chest From the Treasurer: Well chapter members another year has gone by and what an exciting year it has been. Your Chapter Officers have guided the chapter in a new direction starting at the beginning of the New Year with the new officers in place. With your help and acceptance I hope that we have shown you that we have done a good job that was difficult at times with the new changes. Not everyone in the chapter was happy with the change because change is hard to accept. The old adage" why fix it if it isn't broke " seemed to prevail and it wasn't the case. It was time for other chapter members to step up to the plate and to give our former Officers a well deserved thanks for a job well done. This past year was a rebuilding year for the chapter and I hope that we will continue to grow stronger and bigger with new members. We were able to produce two quality Open House Events and the last Open House for the Veterans Hospital was a huge success thanks to you the membership. Also the food drive held for the " Lady of Hope " parish at Thanksgiving turned out to be one of our finest ever with a huge donation of canned goods much needed by the parish. Many thanks goes out to all of our membership to be able to provide to the less fortunate. The next exciting event we have of course is the Transition Dinner coming up in Jan 2011. We are going to be celebrating the event at a new venue and with a new menu and there will be a live band to dance the night away. Don't forget to sign up for your reservation ASAP so we can have an accurate count for the dinner. See me at the dealership or any of your officers and please pay for the Transition dinner no later than 31 Dec 2010. The Elks club in San Bernardino next to Perris Hill Park is where the event will be held and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone of you there with your dancing shoes on ready to wine and dance the night away. As I mentioned before at our last chapter meeting your chapter dues are due now so please make sure your National HOG membership is up to date now before you pay your chapter dues for 2011. We will be taking your chapter and Transition Dinner payments at the next chapter meeting in Dec 2010. I'm also asking for your support with regards to the Business Card Ads in the newsletter for the upcoming year. The cost of the ad is $50.00 and it's a great way to reach out to the membership for your business. With your support and help we can make the New Year 2011 an exciting one for the chapter and to you all. So come on members lets hear from you on new rides and events you would like to do for 2011.................Ride safe and celebrate the holidays with your loved ones and be safe out there................Randy Page 6 FREEDOM FLYER FOR DECEMBER 2010 Pics From The Dam Ride FREEDOM FLYER FOR DECEMBER 2010 Page 7 LAW OFFICES OF HARTNELL, LISTER & MOORE BRYAN C.
