Looking for a new way to support 4-H
and show your pride for the Clover?
You may be a past member or have never been a
member of Kentucky 4-H Friends & Alumni, but we
invite you to join TODAY!
For just $20 per year you can reconnect and stay in
touch with what is happening in Kentucky 4-H!
Kentucky 4-H Friends & Alumni was formed under the
Kentucky 4-H Foundation whose mission is to “Lead
fund development for the Kentucky 4-H Youth
Development Program and advance support by alumni
and other stakeholders to ensure 4-H remains a vital
center of excellence in the Commonwealth.”
Participation is $20 per year of which $10 can be
designated to the county of your choice. Friends &
Alumni is paid on a calendar year basis.
HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
For 4-H International Programs
This summer, 7 young people from Japan along
with one adult chaperone will come to
Kentucky to learn about American families and
culture. A great way to take part in this
international experience is by becoming a host
family for one of these students. Applications
are now being accepted. Youth in the Language
Laboratory, or LABO, program are between the
ages of 12 and 14. These young people want to
experience the life of an average American
family.
If you are interested in becoming a host family
or receiving more information contact Mark
Mains, at mmains@uky.edu. Requesting
information does not obligate families to host
students this year. Biographies of the Japanese
youth can be obtained
after an application for
hosting is submitted and
approved.
As a donor you will receive: Friends & Alumni car
window decal, The Foundation’s Newsletter, E-mail
blast on events and happenings, Invitation to
Foundation events such as Homecoming and local
alumni events, and Opportunities to volunteer and give
back to Kentucky’s youth.
Who can join? Friends & Alumni is open to anyone who
has been a 4-H member, volunteer, 4-H parent, donor,
staff, or anyone who just loves 4-H. For 4-Hers who
recently aged out of 4-H and are in college, you can
join Friends & Alumni for free and maintain that status
as long as you are in school.
Go to www.kentucky4hfoundation.org and click on the
Friends & Alumni logo. We hope you will join today and
help support the best kept secret in youth
development!.
