OPTIONAL: (moderate to difficult incline) Turn left on Broadway St. Go to the top of the hill
and enjoy the scenic view. Head back down and
proceed on Broadway St.

Lewis & Clark Trail
and Statue
The Turnaround at Seaside, Oregon, is designed as the
official end of the Lewis and
Clark Trail. In
1990, a bronze
statue of Meriwether Lewis,
William Clark and
Seaman, was installed facing the
ocean at the west end of Broadway at the Turnaround on the
center of the Promenade.

Goodman Park
D This park has restrooms,
basketball hoops, and swings. It
is also located right next to the
12th Avenue Bridge, where
locals and visitors alike often
congregate.
Seaside Historical
Society Museum Butterfield Cottage
Learn the history of Oregon’s
first seaside resort. Exhibits
detail over 2,000 years of Seaside heritage,
artifacts dating
from 700 B.C.
and a diorama
depicting Seaside in 1899.

Seaside Promenade
The only one of its kind on
the Oregon coast, the Seaside
Promenade is an 8,000-foot
long concrete boardwalk between central
Seaside and
its spectacular
beach.

Seaside Aquarium
This coastal aquarium is
home to many sea creatures
from octopus to sharks and
eels. There is a petting tank
where, if you dare, you can
touch rigid starfish among
other ocean attractions.

Necanicum Estuary Park
- Wildlife Viewing
The Necanicum Estuary
(where the river meets the
ocean) is a
diverse natural
habitat and a
great place to
explore.

1900’s
The cottages were a great place
for the Portlandites to spend
some quality time at Seaside
Oregon was known as the end
of the railroad line in
the early
1900’s.

L Tillamook Rock Lighthouse
The Tillamook Rock Lighthouse was completed in 1881 to
guide ships approaching the Columbia River past
the dangerous
jutting headland.
Salt Works
The Salt Works marks the site
where the Lewis and Clark expedition set up a camp and boiled
seawater to obtain salt for use at
Fort Clatsop and
on the return
journey to St.
Louis.

Surfers Cove
Rain or shine, the Seaside
Cove is a must-see-stop whether
you’re a tourist or a local. It’s a
mixture of sandy
and rocky beach,
and the point
break makes it a
surfer’s haven.

Tillamook Head
Tillamook Head is a tilted
remnant of a massive, 15-millionyear-old Columbia River basalt
flow. Incredibly, the lava welled
up near Idaho, flooded down the
Columbia Gorge,
and spread along
the seashore to
this point.
