Acknowledgement of the things that we can change and the things that we cannot change is one of the
essential elements of a person at peace. While this can be difficult we need to be cognizant of this fact
and work towards finding that peace within ourselves and our surroundings.

There are things in our lives that we have control over and things that we do not have control over.
Probably, the most important factor is the ability to recognize the difference. That can be tricky,
maddening, frustrating. And true to this quote is the fact that sometimes we need to let them go. It is an
act of self-preservation.
Letting go of the negative is beneficial. Positive thinking and supplying others around us with a safe and
comfortable surrounding is important in our jobs as educators. I think that all of us have seen how
detrimental negativity can be in anything that we do.
Research has shown that it takes three positive events for us to overcome the effects of a single
negative event, which is due to our brain’s bias for survival. In other words, our brain is more likely to
hold onto the impact of a negative event than a positive one in order to remind us of what we need to
avoid.
Naturally, when we read about such studies, it’s easy to draw the conclusion that if we don’t have three
good things happening to us during our day, we won’t be able to compensate for that one bad moment.
And this is certainly reflective of what most of us experience at work – where one bad encounter, one
piece of negative feedback sends us into a tailspin of doubt and uncertainty. Obviously, do something
nice for someone today.
Always keep your heart above your head! Let’s focus on being positive and providing a positive
experience to all around us!

Dr. Seuss and read Across America Day!!!! What a terrific day to be a teacher at PVES!
JROTC visited the Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms from approximately 9:30-10:30 AM.
The St. Luke's volunteers were here from 9:30-10:15 and 10:15-11:00 for 4th and 5th grades.
Thank you to all of our guests. We appreciate the support and interest in our school district!!

Across America. They also wrote a paragraph about their favorite book and character.
After their read aloud from Ms. Lazar (a member of ROTC) the students enjoyed green eggs and ham!

Dream It. Do It. Pennsylvania (DIDI PA) is a manufacturing career awareness partnership led by the
Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC) of Bethlehem, Pa. Dream It. Do It. is a national grassroots
initiative by The Manufacturing Institute in Washington, D.C. Groups in 21 American states have
joined the Dream It. Do It. campaign. The Panther Valley team was paired with Ametek and the
video was a first class production. This past week the Panther Valley team was invited to steel
stacks in Bethlehem for the awards ceremony. The PVMS team did not win any of the awards but
the process was a valuable learning experience for all of us. Thanks to Mrs. Branchid e and Mrs.
Davis for leading the team in this program.
Our students were teamed up with Ametek, Inc. The Video team members are Jordon Bamford, Emline
Markovich, Aaron Miller, Erica Tout, and Trey Turner.

PVMS ACE Team 2015
This past week our 8th grade ACE team competed against the best and brightest from the area. We
would like to congratulate our team for their hard work and dedication to excellence. We would also like
to thank the 2 mentors for their hard work and dedication!

Panther Valley Wrestlers
Mrs. Black reports, what a great weekend for PV wrestlers! The top five place winners in each weight class
advance to the Southeast Regional Class AA Tournament set for Friday and Saturday at Wilson High School,
West Lawn. The following student athletes placed at wrestling district this past weekend, Kern placed 6th,
Tanner Kennedy, Darrin Goida, Ali Capobianco, and Dylan Moyer placed 5th and Rian Shubeck placed
3rd. Tanner Kennedy, Darrin Goida, Ali Capobianco, Dylan Moyer, and Rian Shubeck will be wrestling at
regional this coming weekend at Wilson West Lawn.

these questions and more on Wednesday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. at North Schuylkill. This FREE
seminar is a MUST for ALL athletes in grades 8-12 who want to play sports in college, and their parents.

Panther Valley Cheerleading Squad
Last Sunday the Panther Valley Area Cheerleaders won 1st in their division as well as Grand Champions
(meaning the highest scoring of all varsity teams). The PVA Girls beat AAAA Bishop Shanahan in their
division and defeated the following teams from the varsity tumbling divisions: AAAA-Allentown Central
Catholic, Cardinal O'Hara, Marple Newtown, Nazareth, Academy Park, AAA-Sun Valley, and Polytech
from Delaware.
Congratulations girls on all of the hard work to be the best in the area and to be among the elite teams
in eastern PA. You should be proud of the success in competition not only to represent yourselves and
the team but also to represent Panther Valley.
