one wire one rig up one crew Slick-E-Line offers the ability to perform traditional slickline operations as well as offering real time depth control, push button tool activation with verification, PLUS conventional PL data collection. Single crew flights - single crew beds - one single crew for slickline and logging operations. Hybrid technology is the future of well intervention and ‘smart’ slickline is the key. ParaComm Antenna ParaLog ParaWinch ParaWire Slick-E-Line System Slick-E-Line surface equipment comprises a surface powered RxTx-comms module, electrically connected to a close-coupled antenna, orientated parallel to the Slick-ELine for optimum antenna directivity and gain. This wirelessly picks up the downhole logging tool signals from the ParaComm Antenna and communicates with the downhole tool when in transmit mode. Slick-E-Line mechanical services enhance the quality and operational safety of traditional mechanical operations with its added accurate depth measurement and monitoring of downhole tool and environment status in real time. Slick-E-Line real-time depth correlation capabilities confirm operations are on depth and provide the exact position of the downhole tool at all times. This continuous depth correlation means that slickline operations can now be adapted in real time, and that the success of the job can be confirmed before pulling out of hole. Slick-E-Line run real-time production logs across a range of wellbore environments. www.paradigm.eu Slick-E-Line supported perforation, tubing punch, and cutting for pipe recovery - on depth, and in real time. The formulated polymeric coating combines superior abrasion and corrosion resistance with electrical insulation, enabling at the same time normal mechanical slickline operations AND two-way data communication with a battery powered downhole tool string. ParaWire is deployed using standard pressure control equipment combined to best effect with the ParaWinch technology. ParaWire is made using a proprietary coating process developed by Paradigm and is the only one of its type in the world. The difference between ParaLog and other conventional acquisition systems is the radically different communications architecture. Whilst most real time systems log in the depth domain (tools need to be moving to acquire data versus depth) and all memory systems log in the time domain (but have to be merged to depth versus time at surface post-log), the Slick E-line system logs everything in the time domain… including depth! Features: Simple and easy interface • One phase, instead of multiple phases: As soon as the program is launched, it’s acquiring. • Time based plot at the bottom: As soon as the tool is on, data is being received. All data Including depth. • Ready to be selected and output to API. Real time data acquisition and plotting • Constant data stream, adapting data rate to conditions: ParaLog constantly receives data as fast as conditions allow. • Programmable sampling rates: Maximise the bandwidth. If some curves are not needed at the highest sample rate, sample less. • Dynamic data buffer indication: On any API plot, ParaLog outputs in the depth track two tool string representations. • The tool can move faster than the data transmission allows, and if acquiring at the highest sampling rate this does not dictate the logging speed. Data selection from time based plot The default ParaLog interface is a time based presentation, from which single or multiple passes can be selected and output to single or multiple API presentations. All the data is available at any given moment, even when the engineer was “not logging”. • Multiple data selections to output: Just select in the time plot and send to API. • Easy output and merging to any API (or multiple) presentation(s). • Importing reference logs (correlation) done in the same easy manner. • Automatic pass labelling by default: Down/up passes and stations are labelled as such by default. Easier to pick and rename. Easy data manipulation and presentation on API log • ParaLog makes acquisition much more flexible and simple. • Depth matching made easy – just drag the dataset to match the (imported) reference log and all data from that pass is put on depth, with visual feedback that the correct depth offset has been applied. • Drag and drop formats: Editing formats made easy, just drag, drop, click, stretch, etc, all visual. • Exporting PL data on depth has never been easier, just select all passes, output to an API log and click and drag to visually match them to the correlation log. All of them. All of the passes will include the resulting depth offset and from there: Export data to LAS. • Importantly, ALL RAW data is also available in the dataset, without any of the above manipulations making it easy to revert back to the original if required. Downhole Components Logging The basic Slick-E-Line logging tool string comprises a simple logging head and electronic cartridge connected to a translator module above a memory PLT. The various sensors communicate in MODBUS with the central controller (located in the top of the tool string) which, as well as logging all sensor data to the memory in the cartridge, sends the data through the Slick-E-Line wire. All data is recoded and stored downhole at the highest sampling rate, and sent to surface at a reduced rate for realtime plotting purposes. At the end of the slickline logging run, the data from the downhole memory can be downloaded and merged with the surface data to restore it to its full resolution in industry standard format. www.paradigm.eu The basic tool string module is configured to mechanically and electrically interface with third party tool string components e.g. Hunter RBT, MFC and PLT to allow users maximum flexibility and choice. Slickline In addition to mechanical operations, ruggedised Gamma/CCL tools capable of withstanding normal jarring shock loads can be run below the cable head in cases where depth correlation and tool verification are required. The future Working on an open system basis with logging tool suppliers should allow new exciting tools to be developed by a range of companies which can all be run on the Slick-E-Line or even be Slick-E-Line specific. Technology Building Blocks ParaControl The new Control system built into the ParaWinch is the latest in Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology. Ergonomically superior to traditional systems it’s indicative of Paradigm’s bottom up approach to the Slick-E-Line technology. Designed to match the infinite controllability of the direct electric drive system the ParaControl system offers both the necessary manual controls and contains all relevant data (depth, tension, logging speeds etc) in one easy to read display system. ParaSheave The ParaSheave intelligent depth and tension system allows the winch operator to receive the depth and tension information from the sensors in the sheaves wirelessly. Traditional hydraulic weight indicators require heavy cumbersome hydraulic lines and are notoriously inaccurate over time. In addition, in order to minimise slippage at the traditional counter head, the wire is normally wrapped at the counter head. With a coated wire this is undesirable if coating life is to be optimised so again Paradigm have drilled down to the heart of the problem. The ParaWinch has a wire guide for spooling but no traditional counter head assembly. The ParaSheaves each have two sensors giving a system with 400% redundancy and the ability to cross calibrate between the sheaves. ParaComm Antenna ParaComm Antenna seals on the coated wireline cable against well pressure. The patented sealing element is designed with a large cross sectional area which provides this environment friendly seal and cleaning action during well interventions. The depth and tension measurements are gathered from a pickup on the pressure control equipment and sent to the unit via Wi-Fi. The pressure control equipment is pressure sensitive and automated and will react when an increase in wellhead pressure is identified.
