Dear Future Sponsor
Dear Future Sponsor, We are pleased to introduce to you an annual event and movement produced by young Asian and Pacific Islander (API) professionals and students to promote a strong API presence in entertainment and media. Our high-energy shows across the nation provide a unique chance for young API artists to showcase their talents. Kollaboration’s current mission and mantra is, “Empowerment through Entertainment.” In addition to encouraging the diverse talents of API youth, Kollaboration seeks to empower: 1 API youth by providing them with a creative outlet and leadership training that serves as alternative to gang-activity and delinquency for those at-risk, 2 API families by offering a platform for communication that bridges the gap between 1st generation parents and latter generation youth and 3 The API community at large, by raising awareness for other critical community issues and NGOs. This show is focusing on extending our mission to showcase Asian American talent and build relationships with our surrounding communities. We celebrate this unity by inviting the people of every community to join us in this movement. By making a donation to this event you will not only directly support our community but also help our organization break the stereotype of Asian American in entertainment whether it be television, radio, or music. Enclosed is the sponsorship packet that explains the sponsorship levels in more detail. Kollaboration is a 501 (c)(3) organization; any donation made is tax deductible within the limits of the law. Various Kollaboration chapters from across the continent host annual shows to not only exhibit the talents of local API performers but also to provide them with a stage to showcase their passion. Kollaboration was founded by Paul “PK” Kim in 2000, under the guidance of Executive producer Roy Choi. In 2006, Kollaboration was accredited as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with 10 chapters in Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Tulsa, New York, Washingtion D.C., Toronto, and San Francisco. Kollaboration gives a platform for local bay area asian entertainers to embrace their talents and showcase it to the world. It allows these individuals one step closer to their dreams and goals.” - Jane Alo, Program Director, Kollaboration SF The San Francisco chapter began in 2009 and hosted its 1st annual show in 2010, selling out to an audience of 960 people at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts venue.
