Mount Wachusett Community College offers the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET™) in both the paper and computer-based
versions. Students must be at least 16 years of age to test and students must have a valid photo ID. Students who are under the age of

This two-part workshop will explore how to burnish unfired clay pieces with terrasigillata to create a polished surface that will attract smoke
and beautiful orange tones in the barrel pit-firing. This is a contemporary approach to ancient firing practices, creating work similar to work of
traditional Native American and ancient potters. A brief history, terms, techniques and resources will be presented. All materials included.

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, is one of the largest existing organizations for writers
and illustrators. It is the only professional organization specifically for those individuals writing and illustrating for children and young adults in

Training Funds Available For Massachusetts Companies

analyses, and free grant writing assistance to help pay for your training. Specialized assistance is available in banking, bio
manufacturing, business, healthcare, and manufacturing.
The Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) is a Massachusetts state fund enacted into law in July 1998 and financed entirely by
Massachusetts employers. Its purpose is to provide funding resources to Massachusetts businesses and workers to train current and
newly hired employees.
Here are some general provisions of the program:
• Up to $250,000 is available through Workforce Training Fund grants
• Businesses are eligible if they have paid into the program through paying unemployment insurance
• There are three types of Workforce Training Fund grants: HITG (Hiring Incentive Training Grant), Express Grants and General Program Grants
• HITG Grants encourage hiring Massachusetts residents who have been dislocated from the workforce
• Express Grants encourage small companies to quickly and easily access off-the-shelf training
• Applications can be submitted at any time and have a five-day decision turn-around
• General Program Grants encourage employer organizations, labor organizations, training providers, or a consortium of such entities to train current and newly hired workers
• General grants are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year with decisions being made within
60 days
