FLOYD PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT is a division of FLOYDAUTOMATIC TOOLING LTD 17, Bondor Business Centre ‐ London Rd.‐ Baldock – Herts – SG187 6HP T: 01462 491919 E‐Mail: sales @floydautomatic.co.uk FLOYD PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT A Division of Floyd Automatic Tooling Ltd Swarfs spinning Flexiline Centrifuge type ECP100 and robot combinated grapnel-emptying robot for swarf bin lifting, transport and unloading System type « Flexiline » for treatment of steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminium swarf, oil and emulsion Range of application: For the treatment of swarf of various chips shape, various chip material with several kind of oils. This system can process swarf without mixing the various material and the various oils. This machine is fully automatic and autonomous, there is no need of people in charge of the swarf treatment. It is the solution that definitively solves the swarf treatment problem in a turned part factory. Advantages: Automatic and autonomous running Centrifuging of thin and curly swarf without any crusher Treatment of up to 4 kinds of coolant without any mixing Sloped bottom of the centrifuge, hence no coolant residue Moisture after spinning less than 2% Easy monitoring with digital screen Various cycles according material and oil Layout adapted to the available area and location of the containers Running Swarf is collected into conical bins at the production machines. Bins full of swarfs to de-oil are loaded on a storage loading conyeyor. The recording is made on the digital screen terminal: Select the kind of material and the kind of oil in the bin. The 10“ sized colored interface terminal allows very easy access to manual operation, spinning times programming, to log-in and password management, and of course the material and oil selection for each swarfs bin that is loaded in the machine. The swarf bin is loaded into the spinner without any spilling using the the grapnel robot which has a pantograph design, without any pouring. The bin itself is the spinning drum: The centrifugal force makes oil ascend along the bin conical wall. A rotation free disc closes the bin from the upper side, only the oil escapes out of the bin during the spinning process. The rotation speed and the spinning time are programmable according each kind of material and each kind of oil. The coolant flows into tanks with several leakproof compartments, each equipped with a level sensor and a lifting pump. So it is possible to store the oils into tanks, eventually with a filtration system that allows to re-use the oil. After the spinning cycle, the grapnel robot takes the swarf bin and leaves it on the emptying robot, which moves onto the selected container in order to empty the dry swarf. Afterwards, the robot transports the empty bin to the unloading conveyor. Flexiline system treating steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass swarf with oil and emulsion. 2 spinners and 3 robots. Continuous Spinning Swarf treatment system with trolley loading and crusher for steel, equipped with continuous cycle spinner type CC600 and conveyor with scrapers, for feeding swarf into the containers. Range of application: For treatment of fine metallic particles or crushed swarf, in large quantities, for one material type only, for instance steel, brass or aluminium swarf, coming from lathes or milling machines. Only one kind of coolant can be processed in this system. Advantages: Large treatment capacity Automatic and continuous running Very low moisture content after spinning, even for brass material Automatic stop in case of prolonged interruptions in loading Continuous rinsing of the bottom of the centrifuge Low maintenance cost Running Continuous centrifuges C350 and C500 Metallic chips to spin are loaded in the centrifuge with a conveyor. The motor of the conveyor is equipped with a speed variator so as to perfectly adapt the conveyor feed to the centrifuge output. Swarf falls in the middle of the bowl of the spinner and is projected to the wall thanks to the centrifugal force. It ascends slowly along the bowl because they are pushed by the following swarf coming after. A sieve screen all around the top of the bowl allows the lubricant to escape and fall into a circular channel and out of the centrifuge. Coolant is constantly pumped into this channel to avoid sediment settling. Dry swarf escapes the bowl by the upper side and fall under the centrifuge. They can be taken by a conveyor or directly in a container. Continuous centrifuge with cycle type CC600 Metallic chips to spin are loaded in the centrifuge with a conveyor. The running time of the conveyor is adjustable and set in accordance with the loading time of the centrifuge. Swarf is falling on a ribbed disc located in the spinner drum center, and is projected on the wall by the centrifugal force. When the loading is over, the rotation speed increases and runs during the programmed time (setable). A sieved screen located in the middle of the drum allows the lubricant to escape, and fall into a circular channel and out of the centrifuge. A pump permanently rinses this channel to avoid sediment settlement. When the spinning time is over, dry swarf falls under the centrifuge. A vibrating motor shakes the drum for a few seconds in order to remove swarf stuck on the wall and a blowing nozzle clears the slots of the sieve screen. Next cycle then starts. Swarf can be taken by a conveyor or falls directly in a container. Implantations of transport, crushing and spinning for steel and aluminium swarf in an automotive factory.
